I now use the shorter solder tips of the Pine64 Pinecil on my TS100. So i also get the advantage of better control because of the narrower distance between the fingers and the tip. I also ordered the silicone grip on Aliexpress. It fits also perfect on the TS100 and you still can use the buttons perfectly. No false pressing of the buttons because of the grip.

Still an inferior, high resistance tip compared to real JBCs.
      Fine for hobby use though.

What are you thoughts on the Pinecil? I thought about getting one to compare to the ts101, hs02.

Awesome sound separation. Not all youtubers using that. Thanks ;)

Awesome, I had a problem with a few videos due to {I think} the gain too high on my zoom h5. so i'm switching to Davinci resolve studio to be able to fix stuff like that. Thanks for your comment.

Awesome video! Your channel has been very helpful in deciding what soldering iron to buy, thank you. In addition, if you end up figuring out the issue with the HS-02A (this is the one I bought for various reasons), I would appreciate if you made a video covering what happened, how to fix it, and how much the performance improved after it was fixed. Once again, your channel is amazing, keep it up!

Thank you and yes im working on a video about the HS02A issues should be out soon. Thank you for your kind words. Its comments like this that keep me going. It is a joy to help others. Thanks again.

I'm using HS-02A for a few days now. TS-101 is thin and seems easy to handle than the HS-02A. HS-02A is little bulky. But I'm a fan of short tips. Long soldering tips make my hand shake and hard to focus on a point. I don't have that issue with HS series. 02B's tip is too thin and short for me. So, 02A is the one that fits with my preferences. Thanks for the comparison.💪🤝

Yes. I agree, the biggest issue i have with the ts101 is tip length. I did find the hs02b comparable with the ts101 in rapid soldering joints. I also found the problem with my hs02a. The calibration is off by at least 30c. Will have to tweak it a bit and also want to test it with more tips to see if the calibration issue is with all tips or just the one i have. Thanks for your comment.

I had the exactly same power loss problem with the TS101 and the Pinecil. Turned out to be the USB Power Supply. Even it had the necessary PD specs. Also the my TS101 always resets the power supply every time i heat it for the first time. I already tried it on different power supplies. Thats why i now switched back to the much more DC port that also gives my TS100 and TS101 full power via the 24V. (USB / Power Delivery = max. 20V)

Using the same cord and psu i have not problems with the ts101 or hs02b heating from cold at 100%. Just the gs02a. Strange. But now that i fixed my heating issue with the hs02a i have no problems using it at 65% I with experiment with alternate power option to see if i can get it to regulate power on cold start better. Be looking for the video. Thanks for commenting.

Its not a bad tip nor a bad iron. Its your USB PD-100 power brick, it cannot supply enough power to your HS-02A.

In the comments on the hs02 review we have a list of psu used as well as cords.
What is happening is the 02a power draw on initial heat up is spiking above what a psu can supply so reducing the power draw is only way to start iron heating. I think we list 4 or 5 psu tried within spec but still trip out with over current. There is an adaptive power mode on the iron but does not seem to work on my iron.
Thank so much for comment, it is very refreshing to receive feedback on videos. Thanks again.

You don’t have adequate power supply,HS02 is better in every way and even cheaper.Wouldn’t buy any of two.

Thanks for your comment. What model power supply do you use. I have a viewer on another video that has tried many and couldn’t get one to work. I would love to help them out by giving them you model so they can try it. Thanks again for commenting.
