In Hollow Mind, keep in mind Belos killed his brother then made clones of him (Grimwalkers) only to kill them again and again. He had done this for hundreds or maybe thousands of times.
Kill combo
also along with the fact that he tried to drown hunter in his mindscape with no hesitation
Kind off like that joke in Madagascar
Papa Titan explained that Belos wanted to destroy everything he could not control. That includes Caleb and the Grimwalkers. Caleb left him to have a life of his own. Belos couldn't stand the fact that Caleb was not only his, so he created replacements of his brother that he could control, and disposed of them when they showed free will.
You forgot to mention in the background of Hollow Mind we see the memories of Belos and his Brother on paintings. It tells the tale of how Caleb fell in love with a witch, and Philip killed Caleb in cold blood for it.
Not only because she was a witch, but I suspect that Phillip didn't like that Caleb had a life of his own. Just remember that he didn't allow Hunter to do anything but serve him. He started with the Grimwalkers him to have a replacement of his brother that was his only.
Hollow Mind was the closest we got to Belos’ origin story (other than the exposition Masha gave in ‘Thanks To Them’) & we likely would’ve gotten more had Season 3 not been shortened like it was - such a FASCINATING story element that never got the chance to fully shine 😔
The most messed up part about hunter’s origin is that the fact grimwalkers aren’t just clones of Caleb but are spare bodies for belos should he require it
Hollow Mind is easily the darkest most twisted episode out there. I get chills everytime I watch it
11:27 Just to clarify, Philip (Belos) was already in the Boiling Isles but what Luz did was teach him the light glyph✨ which was the final piece he needed to find the Collector, leading to the present day events of the Owl House.
Time loops, am I right? 😅
I have to agree with all of your choices for this list and that Hollow Mind is the darkest and best Owl House episode to date
I loved this series so much and I'm really satisfied with how the series ended ^^ I agree these episode are some of the darkest in the series especially Hollow Mind, the reveal that Belos was Phillip Wittlebane gave me chills, he's now one of all time favourite villains and we haven't had a Disney villain this dark and complex since the likes of Frollo from the Hunchback Of Notre Dame ^^ Great video as always ^^
Makes me want to see a Frollo vs. Belos fight.
This show is dark but in the best way. I love The Owl House.
For thanks to them , you didn’t bring up how apparently Luz is a risk of suicidal thoughts.
great video, but I think that season 2 episode 17 "Edge Of The World" should have been on here.
Imagine thinking you found your true family but you realize you are the last of your species and the people you thought were your family were wearing the skulls of your dead family members
Totally agree. I’d replace the first entry as the solution to the episode was rather benign.
I agree, that episode was so dark.
As an extra little thing, all the titan trappers wore the skulls of the dead titans, but titans are usually way too big to be able to wear their skull, so a lot of them, if not all, were probably the skulls of children
Bruh automatic subs heard "balling isles" instead of boiling isles
Eda: Hold up kid let mama Eda Dunk Belos' ass to the bronze age
Until Dana says otherwise, I'll always suspect that Belos pulled the strings to make Lilith and Eda compete to enter the Coven. Everything points that the Clawthornes are descendants of Caleb and Evelyn (and the pictures in Hollow Mind suggest she looked like Eda - who's called Evelyn), so Belos' motivation to destroy Eda was not only to make her an example.
haven’t watched the whole show but I Didn’t find the final to dark it had it moments but I knew Luz was going to Sacrifice herself what hits hard though is the line Eda gave after Luz disintegrates I don’t think I can control myself right now also for Thanks to them yep poor Flapjack
The Owl House will truly be missed, as not only may we not get another gay cartoon from Disney, but we also may not get one as dark as this one. I honestly thought a topic like this would warrant a Top 10 (same goes for Gravity Falls), but the five you picked were for good reasons (especially the top two).
Yeah Hollow Mind deserves to be number 1 it’s actually terrifying
another contender for this could be through the looking glass ruins, with Gus' illusions at the end of the episode
I watched that one at like 1am and I was so scared after it 😂
Glad to see you’re a fan too!
After seeing two of the specials on here I had a feeling Hollow Mind was next. I kinda see it as a Hunter origin story when it's shown he's a copy of Caleb.
Idk how there is no For The Future, we actually saw sticky substance named Belos wenting in his secret basement where he is growing copies of his dead brother (and we see his ghost), belos obsess one of the bodys and starting decay, because its not ready. After he go in the Archive and obsess Raine doll which is looks soo creepy
Gravity Falls is only a little less dark then this. This show is rated PG, but this show is so dark to the point it should be TV-14
Actually, it's rated TV-Y7-FV, but on Disney+ in other countries, it got the 18+ rating.
@@Fictionboy16 probably because of the homosexual themes
@@Fictionboy16 Hopefully not cause of the gay stuff, but just cuz of the horror.
@@Ruby2P I'm pretty sure it's because of both, since not everyone accepts gay stuff, let alone, for kids, unfortunately. Though I wish everyone did.
I wouldn’t give it a TV-14 rating. I’d give it more of TV-Y7 pushed to its absolute limit.
One of my top darkest moments would be Luz almost getting petrified while pleading her life through making a fake deal.
I agree to your picks though. These kids need a load lot of sessions of therapy.
I think Edge of the World deserved a spot because of the revelation of what King is, why he's the only one of his kind, and how disturbing the trappers are
well it's official. The Owl House is finished.
(Whispering) Oh my poor Flapjack ----> 7:22
Shocked that Edge Of The World's not on this list.
King’s tide should’ve been on here instead of the intruder
Agreed.
Or edge of the world
Eda is the best character ❤
Don’t forget the part of Thanks to Them where Hunter almost died and Flapjack gave up his own life force to save him.
Saw the thumbnail and immediately knew the #1 spot
I honestly feel that the S2 finale, King’s Tide, easily gets second or third on this list. It is definitely far more dark than The Intruder.
hollow mind is number 1 too easy
1:15 The rain isn’t acidic, it’s boiling. 100 degrees Celsius rain.
That’s why it’s called the Boiling Isles.
10:55 Belos isn’t a cult leader, he is a Tyrant. The people of the boiling isles see the Titan as a god and Belos only manipulated that belief saying that he could communicate with it. This does not make him a cult leader.
Maybe you need to watch the show again.
But don't worry we have Amphibia season 4 comic to keep our minds sane
The name of the comic is The Trio Calamity Back Together.
"king the baby demon"
clearly you haven't watched the episode that reveals that he is a titan
He was trying not to spoil that part
what about 'yesterday's lie' and 'king's tide'? do you really think 'watching and dreaming' and 'the intruder' are darker?
Yesterday's lie isn't really dark and King's tide is a little but not much, the intruder and watching and dreaming are definitely darker than both of those
@@certifiablyeternal may I remind you of the final scene in both episodes (the ones I said)
@@certifiablyeternal plus it's darkest episodes no scariest
@@enchantedgoldenapple3290 I never said scariest, and the final scene of Yesterday's Lie wasn't dark in the slightest and King's Tide's ending was sad yes, but not dark.
@@certifiablyeternal Yesterday's Lie is more depressing especially since you find out Luz's father was dead.
Hey Jambareeqi, are you ever going to talk about foreign animated films, and not just from Studio Ghibli? What got me into your channel was the fact that you talked about films I didn’t even know existed, like Felidae and The King And The Mockingbird, along with how upbeat and invested you were, I decided watch them, and ended up loving them!
But recently, after 2021, your videos have this clickbait vibe to them, with the thumbnails having characters with shocked or scared expressions, which is a common thing in more desperate, cash-grabby type videos, and you mainly talking about the more mainstream movies, while blandly speaking in a monotone voice, which comes off a boring, dull, and I immediately shut the video off to go watch or do something else, coupled with your patronising comment in your Strange World 2022 Ranking that we should essentially have more mediocre films just like it, as long as there’s good LBGTQ representation, which is the equivalent of eating a raw cake made out of mud, fish bones and dirt, just to get to the delicious chocolate at the end!
Along with the fact that your barely brought up how the film portrayed Jaeger, who outside of accepting Ethan’s sexuality, is a toxic, arrogant, smug, condescending, selfish, unlikable prick, barely made any attempt to contact or reunite with his wife and son, who does NOTHING to make up to his family, constantly belittles and insults Searcher, for not being “masculine”, along with the fact that Searcher’s PTSD is disgustingly played for cheap laughs, as if the filmmakers are saying “Ha ha, this guy has serious psychological problems, has a broken relationship with his father and is scared of his son ending up like him, isn’t that just comedy gold, kids?!”, or even apologise at anytime, yet they forgive him at the end?! As harsh as it sounds, it seems like you don’t care anymore about what you review, as long as people pay attention to you.
Agreed.
Who else already knew what would be first before clicking the video
I mean, come on. Any owl house fan invested in the show would know the #1 spot by a landslide.
Also my real name is Moses Anthony vitesse I am a boy and my name starts with a m
You know about Matthew Rhys?
GREAT VIDEO 😇😇😇😇 THE OWL HOUSE DARKEST EPISODES 💀
