It’s so sad to see all those veterans here and now there are barely any left.

Well done Filmworks.👍👍 Keep your videos coming. People tend to forget history and more and more, the younger generations are not even aware of events like this that took place in history.

@@JEM133 Agreed! Anal-Cranial inversion is running rampant through our country and it's quite obvious with those residing and working in the White House!.

In order to forget something you must first learn it. This is the main problem with stupid people who prefer to stick their heads in the sand a la Sargent Schultz rather than accept the responsibility of being aware of the past, successes and setbacks.
In other words people being stupid is tragic but by far the more tragic dynamic in play is that they don't know just how stupid they are so there is no way to educate them. (If it helps you to insert ill informed in place of stupid in the previous comment by all means do so).

In this country (the USA), when watching Documentaries of the Normandy Landings, it's not uncommon for the makers of the show to concentrate on the American Beaches and what we did during the Invasion. Yes, these Documentaries do mention the British Paratroopers and the Beaches of Gold, Sword, and Juneau but, not as the main effort. Studying History, I know that ALL those who participated in the Normandy Invasion participated equally..... I am thoroughly enjoying seeing the emphasis of this Documentary showing the British/Canadian effort(s).
    Thank You!

    Through the gates of hell
As we make our way to heaven
    Through the Nazi lines
    Primo victoria
    We’ve been training for years
    Now we’re ready to strike
    As the great operation begins
We’re the first wave on the shore
We’re the first ones to fall
    Yet soldiers have fallen before
In the dawn they will pay
With their lives as the price
    History’s written today
    In this burning inferno
    Know that nothing remains
As our forces advance on the beach
Aiming for heaven though serving in hell
Victory is ours their forces will fall
    Through the gates of hell
As we make our way to heaven
    Through the Nazi lines
    Primo victoria
    On the 6th of June
On the shores of western Europe 1944
    D-day upon us
    We’ve been here before
Used to this kind of war
    Crossfire grind through the sand
    Our orders were easy
    It’s kill or be killed
Blood on both sides will be spilled
In the dawn they will pay
With their lives as the price
    History’s written today
Now that we are at war
    With the axis again
This time we know what will come
    6th of June 1944
    Allies are turning the war
    Normandy state of anarchy
    Overlord

1984 I was still in college and fixing to join the US army infantry now about forty years from then look where we are now. Son of a bitch all those brave men had to kill and die for. What a sad , sick and deleterious state of affairs.
