I grew the Murasaki variety of sweet potato last year and it was literally one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life - the plants were gorgeous while they grew and lifelong vegetable-haters have declared they loved both the roots and the leaves. I can't wait to grow more this year and I hope you have just as much success with your Okinawan sweet potatoes as I had with the Murasaki!
I'd love to hear from Chris and other gardeners in colder climates - I'm in zone 5b and while that isn't the coldest in the country, it's been plenty cold for me and definitely affects my gardening. It would be fantastic to hear their advice!

Oh good, someone else growing garbanzo beans! They have been much harder to get my hands on during covid, but I never heard about a shortage. This year I decided to try to grow them since they’re such a large part of my diet and at one point last year had to go to four different stores to find just 2 cans of them. They’re even my 9 year old’s favorite bean. Anyone with kids knows it can be difficult to get them to eat most vegetable and legumes.

Nice of you guys to introduce several of these small seed sellers here. I bought seeds from several of them already this year.

Oooh, this episode was EPIC! Loved all the interesting seeds 🌱 I thought I had maxed out my seed budget, turns out I have to order some more. Really enjoyed both guests, fascinating to hear about the PNW picks from Chris and the summer squash from Jacques

I am excited for this spring! I'm starting chocolate bell peppers, ghost peppers, long foot chili, tigerella tomatoes, and red and gred shiso. I've got seeds for raindow mix beet and radish, mixed bachelor buttons, calendula, xerochrysum (still called helichrysum in some countries), and beautiful sweet pea "Heaven Scent".
Edit: Xerochrysum is also called Strawflower for those who's garden centers sell them by common name.

Hehe watch that shiso, mine took over the bed it was in 😂 (red shiso). I pulled it out when it was flowering and it developed seeds and I just threw it up against the fence and shook it so I assume I’ll have a huge patch now 😆

Chris, welcome to the team. Looking forward to hear more about your garden.
I would recommend having Chris more often before bringing her into seed recommendation.
To me, seed recommendation is personal, and I need to know what type of gardener the person is before I dedicate time and space for their recommendation.
    Best of luck!

I picked up that Center Cut Squash from Row 7, they have some awesome seeds. Also picked up the Queen of Malinalco Tomatillo and I'm excited to give it a go. On my list now, thanks to this, are the Broccoli Spigariellio and the Bietola De Costa Fine. Thanks for sharing

I have been in love with your channel since I found it last summer and now I love it more! I live in the Midwest so including the different climates is such a huge help for a beginner like myself! I love seeing all of the seeds you guys chose too. Thanks for sharing ❤️
