I remember way back when Do You Really Want To Hurt Me first came out and I saw it on television. How I felt elated. How I felt that I had permission to be different, and it not be a bad thing. And how the music was new and exciting. How it had soul and weird electronic sounds and of course Georges wonderful voice. How interesting the lyrics were and how you would read a million things into them. I swear, Culture Club was more than entertainment to me. I don't know how I would haver been able to get through those tender teenage years without their music and without their exciting visual identity. And hell. It was fun!
