Same I learned this song in college several years ago around 2008-2009. I didn't like the song at first but I feel in love with this songggggg. And got really good at it. Got an A for performance. Now I want to brush up on it again and re sing it. Love this song. Especially the end but even all between because I remember learning every part of this song and the meaning behind each phrase and how to sing the notes with passion and also as it builds etc. So much good stuff. I loved that music teacher. We had to sing individually in front of whole class imagine. I would get super nervous but a lot of times teacher or anyone didn't know because I exuded confidence.
By the way this is not an easy song to sing by no express of the imagination. We were graded on posture presence vowel shaping etc. She also taught us several options as to how we could sing each phrase including what she did ending with shorter ending. Also the beginning middle all parts. You can get pretty creative. Also taught us breath control. I miss that class. It was fun.
