Can it do metal then, wouldn't the military want, prefer or require being able to print metal parts?

The military is investing in quite a bit of metal 3D printing capability, but this particular machine is works with thermoplastics. There are certain filaments that have metal fillers and can be sintered after printing into a full metal part. The process is a bit finicky, so in most applications it is better to simply select a plastic that is appropriate for the end use.
