This restaurant evokes nostalgia for me. During my Kolkata days my office was just across Central Avenue I was a regular here. Looking oh so forward to see myself sitting there on my next visit to Kolkata in a couple of months. Ah the perennial favourite Josephine noodles.

A great find and a fantastic place tbh. It's heaven for Chinese lovers. Been there for a long time but wasn't aware of. The items look soo great. The dumplings are huge and full of stuffings. The prices are a bit on the higher side though but worth every bit if we are to have such great meal. And the quantity of the items are good too. 💕 A lovely place

Ekhane khete hole 4-5jon mile jete hobe... They serve in huge quantities... The steamed fish looks so good! Another amazing episode of the heritage series.. loved it!

Nice to see you in Eau chew. I have been visiting eau chew since childhood. But missed their chicken vegetable. Excellent combination fried rice with sliced chicken with vegetables. Sad part is I do not get their food online. Hope to pay a visit shortly

Authentic food. Fantastic taste. I've had Chimney Soup, Josephine Noodles and Fish in Black Bean Sauce earlier. But that Bhetki needs to be tried out. Everything about this place is great --- except perhaps the outside look and the staircase 😀😀😀

A truly honest review. But apart from the chimney soup nothing was authentic chinese. All other dishes were just Indianised version of American Chinese.

Not one of the oldest...eau chew is tge oldest restaurant of kolkata....and probabky india
I first visited this place in 1996. It was a true hidden gem back then. Once you went in you would actually find local Chinese people dining there. The chimney soup was delightful and better then HouHua in Free School Street. You put in the ingredients yourself at your table. The Josephine noodles was new discovery. Sadly, all that remains is a pale shadow of that cooking, encashing nostalgia with prices that make some reputed Park Street eateries seem a bargain. The last few visits have been a sad affair.
Sorry that my comments here are against the tide but personally that's my experience over 25years and more with thus place. Another "Maddox square ey adda " devolution, good to say but no longer the real thing. Sadly so.

Are you sure that the price you showed on the screen are correct ? Those fish in black bean sauce and the other dish cost 750/- 🙄, feels like 5* hotel.

The food is not up to the mark and very expensive according to the quality served. Authentic chinese restaurants in tangra/ China town is way better

One of the most overpriced and overrated places in the city. The Chimney soup especially shouldn't cost more than 400 rupees. Also what bad ambience. The taste is nothing special either.
