Having watched the whole video I've decided to invite you to my wedding... I just need to divorce my wife and arrange a wedding.
No better time to start than now!
How you do not go insane with the tedium of making this beautiful art is beyond me. But, since you regularly make this beautiful art, maybe you are.
Something happened to my brain a long time ago, and now this is just a normal day for me, I wish I could explain it.
A "like" dont do your videos justice... The amount of hours behind this.... amazing work 👍
Love the "sexy time" soundtrack (as Borat might have called it) during the final finishing stages. Tons of work, pretty awesome outcome.
Dang!!! And I thought that I was doing nice things by giving married couples who invited me to their wedding a hand-made-by-me, salt and pepper grinder made from a glue-up of maple and walnut....dude, that bowl is AMAZING!
Anything handmade as a wedding gift is a win in my book, they can only get so many pots and pans, right?
@@JackmanWorks Yup! I skip the registry and give cash instead and then make a S&P grinder from the Penn State lathe kits as an "extra" gift.
That was so beautiful! From the side they look like Arizona rock formations at sunset. Gorgeous. They’ll be stoked with it
aaaaand after first minute I'm singing the whole video "Down with the thickness...." Some disturbed woodworkers vibes....
I didn’t watch the whole thing but I’m going to ask anyway… Is the chop saw the only tool involved in that build? ☝🏼👨🏼💻
That’s a lot of work Mr Jackman. Most people won’t understand the amount of time and effort that goes into a segmented piece. Bravo sir 👏🏻🙂
I could make that too if I had all those green screened replicas of myself.
It’s crazy you did all that shaping and sanding in like 8 minutes
Another beauty, Paul. Nice touch with the topographic lines. Wondering if you were to do this again, could you turn a deep/large bowl and cut it in half, then glue up boards for the sides and bottom? Technical question, no criticism!
I definitely considered this, the reason I went this way is that it was a seamless connection between the straight and the round portions, if it was done in solid pieces you'd be stuck with an end grain seam connecting the pieces, which isn't ideal.
I saw the arbor tech trailer at a woodworking show. It was the highlight of my day 😊
Aww that's too cool! This means so much to me. Glad that thing is still traveling around, I hope they'll get it out on the road more.
Absolutely cool as hell!!! I watched this with my twin 5 year olds and they said “look dad, he’s a twin too!”
Ha! That's so awesome
I just don’t even…. Wow. Truly incredible. Totally inspired design and meticulous execution of an excruciatingly tedious process. There must have been tears shed by the folks that received this gift. ❤🙌🏻
I saw that Wesley Treat Raygun Pushing Tool. Jackman is a man of culture and good taste, and would never need a "Days without screwups" board.
Great project!!! I’ve gotta get my arbortech back out and get carving!! It’s been way too long.
For sure, just grab a log and go to town! 😀
No pallets were harmed in the making of this bowl
Yey Jackman video, you know its gonna be good. Miss your videos bud
Good news is that this video was delayed, so the next project is almost done and that video will be close behind!
I can't put my finger on why, but one of the best builds ever. So simple, but elegant. Love it.
🔥🔥🔥 Gorgeous bowl and video. Mahalo for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
For some reason, this sausage body makes me think of the Exxon Valdez.
love the project, would love to see it with a different finish that doesnt have amber tones to it.
It was definitely tricky choosing a finish for this one, the amber tone makes the walnut look amazing but I don't totally love it on ash, so a couple coats of that with clear varnish on top was my compromise.
Beautiful piece as always, that is so cool, hope they like it ❤
eeeew inches. heresy. beautiful work as always.
Amazing work, Paul! I love the sausage body shape and the cnc'd mountains look beautiful 😍 I would just have gone with a different finish with much less sheen. Great video too, as usual!
You put so much into every project you do. I think you have more patience than any woodworker I know! The cutting, gluing, sanding and varnishing has to be quite the time consuming endeavor! The end results make it all worth while!
Love each video you post!
Frank Howarth levels of excellence. Maybe better because of that bass guitar.
I like to think that I'm a younger Frank Howarth with slightly more hair
This looked like a quick project to take on in your lunch break
1:23 is just a masking flex, a flex well deserved
haha! Exactly, it was totally unnecessary, just showing off
Superbowl Final ;)
What an absolutely beautiful and thoughtful gift. Your friends are lucky to know you.
You had us at "Impossibowl" 😏
Looks great! But yeah, that would be something to build so you can say you did it.
You made that labor look entirely too easy! Amazing craftsmanship!
You had me at sausage body
♥️♥️♥️ That is absolutely gorgeous!! I would actually consider getting married again, if you would make me one of those!!♥️♥️♥️
Great seeing you again Paul....I want to thank YOU and Pat Lap for getting the Laguna 14BX bandsaw. I went out and got one as well. Hey, just heard that there will be a San Francisco Bay Area Makers Faire in October. Any chance you will be there?? My nephew lives in Harwich on the Cape.
How did you mention pill shape and sausage body but skipped over the DISCORECTANGLE?!?
There was this one time, at band clamp,...
Next up, build a segmented Ark with segmented wooden animals. Now where's my spreadsheet in cubits...

Covid did weird things to the timeline
Is Canadian Pat your rock as you math? Great overcomplicated build that turned out really nice.
Edit: my girlfriend says I have too many clamps. You've allowed me seven more by making her watch your video 👌
Despite all your cool math and wood projects, Mr. Superstar, there remains one irrefutable, and elementary, truth: the Bruins > the Red Wings. I hope you have made your peace with that reality by now, lol
I thought it was going to be a Viking long boat replica, because, well, you look like a Viking. Maybe, with a segmented horn helmet, you could be some high school's sports mascot.
Very nice project and an awesom result. The sausage bowl turns out wonderful. I definitly would buy it if i could afford it... 😀
Absolutely stunning nice work and planning wish I had half of your machines but you use them all very nice
Regards Jamie
Excellent piece, Paul!
I absolutely love it!
As a relatively new content creator/video editor (where did THAT sentence ever come from?) I really appreciate the production value of the video itself!
The Laguna text coming out of the equipment with the piece was very good. I thought the music was a little intense (I had to turn it down a couple of times) in one spot.
Overall, very entertaining for this 64 year old rookie artist/content creator!!👍🏻😎
Love the design, good job!
It’s a beautiful, amazing bowl! Thank you for sharing your creativity and talent with us.
🤯Amazing man! Well done!!
Love the sound track too.
New subscriber👍
Why didn’t he just use his oval lathe? *blows raspberry*
Inspiring project mate!
Mr Jackman, just wondering how well you know the couple getting married, if its not really well and that is the gift you made would you like to go to a random wedding in Ireland?. Great work as always
This is my first time seeing your videos i definitely subscribed your in my top 5 woodartist/woodworker. You guys really inspire me to learn woodworking
Looks like a really oversized banneton basket. There is a baker somewhere that could proof a giant loaf of sourdough bread in that thing.
First time viewer and new sub I'm impressed. Just getting into power carving and wow this is a whole new level of dedication!!!
Show!
What an insane amount of talent and skill you’ve displayed here sir, very impressive work 👀👏🏼
Great job! Lot of hard work!!! I’ll stick with my wood lathe and wood bowls and vases!
Beautiful job, and if that couple ever breaks up, make sure you get visitation rights to the bowl!
When opening a new bandsaw blade, I throw it away from me while holding my hands over my groin. No injuries yet!
I can’t think of anything you could use a bowl this size for but maybe one day they can use it as a bassinet 🤷🏼♀️. It is a beautiful decorative piece for now!
It's safer to just toss the blade on the floor away from you, that way it can't cut you... I get a laugh every time I do it and the looks I get from doing it. awesome job, that would make a great table center piece.
haha that is definitely the correct method, guaranteed safe
Weird. I just found my old orange Jackman t-shirt the same morning this video came out. All faded and the armpits all blown out. Might have to order another one.
If I had a lathe I would have made a standard bowl and cut it in half then glued the straight part between and blend them together..
I definitely considered this, the reason I went this way is that it was a seamless connection between the straight and the round portions, if it was done in solid pieces you'd be stuck with an end grain seam connecting the pieces, which isn't ideal.
That makes sense. Id probably still do it my way because i'm kind of lazy.@@JackmanWorks
@@TomsBackyardWorkshop haha that’s totally fair, zero judgement from me
You have some very lucky friends! That is one special bowl!
I definitely thought that was a give up count not glue up count. Gotta say either could work if I was the one making it
Really neat, Paul, you wild and crazy guy.
Bill
Да ! Молодец !
You are an amazing creator. If you happen to want to make a stranger a gift, I would not be offended. 😂
1:14 does feeding multiple boards through the planer eliminate snipe? i keep getting divots at the ends of my boards
When making bowls, remember to, "duck and cover!"
7:55 mark looked like you were working on a cargo tanker ship model how cool. Does anyone else call those container ships “tanker ships” as slang too?
What an awesome project. Full View and Like 👍
7:42 didn't you learn anything from the Ridgeline air deflector build? 😂
You must have more money in clamps than I have in my whole workshop!!
As always nothing is easy with you but your projects always turn out exceptional. Great job. It looks awesome.
Thank you so much 😀
Ty sir🎉
No disrespect to your sponsor, but the coolest tool you used was the @WesleyTreat push stick.
Masochistically Magnificent.
Massively so
From one Jackman to the next, great work, very creative. ✌️❤️
Maybe you should try 100 pallet wood hammers next
You are sick!!! 😅🤘👏 Big admire
This turned out amazing!! Loved seeing your vision come to life!
Next time use this same technique and make a boat or a ship. This bowl looks more like a bathtub.
amazing bowl , so much work....love it
You have officially convinced me I need to find a man like you to marry 🖤
Awesome editing! And other stuff too, whatever 😅
First video seen, absolutely beautiful work, subscribed!
Welcome! Glad to have you
It reminded me of "Noah Arc." Great work.
WOW you actually made woodwork look boring....is everything you do sponsored ?? you got 2 kids called Laguna and Arbourtech ?
There are many words I'd use to describe this video and "boring" is definitely one of those words.
You could have really used a sausage lathe for this project
7:57
How many clamps should we use?
"Yes"
Fantastic project!
👍🔥
ummmmmm that was amazing. i am compeled to sub so i can see more.
Amazing.........Subbed
Thanks and welcome!
Great work. Not seen a bowl like this before. New sub
The design & the execution are both outstanding
Not to be the "you shoulda" guy... but, for the low price of not having staggered seams, you coulda just made a bowl on the lathe, then cut it in half and glued the long sides between the two halves. Right? Beautiful project either way!
That's the problem though, then I wouldn't have had staggered seams and that's what I wanted so that it was seamless (as seamless as a segmented piece could be)
