      And then he has to go stand in the elimination chamber pod until he entered the match.
      I've never been seriously burned, but I'd imagine that it would be preferable to just start the match and try to take your mind off of the pain.
      But this is the Undertaker we're talking about. Nobody has done more for the WWE than him, and that includes Hogan and Austin.

    Jericho said that after the match Taker told Vince: "I don't want any excuses, i don't want any apologies" and then something with "I never want to see him or i'll kill him" (talking about the pyro guy). After that the pyro guy was escorted out of the building and none of the wwe employees saw him ever again.

  • @RiveBassCovers
    @RiveBassCovers 3 года назад +48

    Last night at the One More Round of the Broken Skull Sessions Undertaker said that this accident could’ve gone a lot worse because he was planning to wear the sleeveless coat he sometimes wore, but since he was the World champion he wanted to have the title visible since he always wore it around his waist, he decided to go for the usual trench coat and hat. They showed a pic of the trench coat and how burnt up it was and that thing was leather. Imagine how bad it would’ve been for Undertaker had he wore the sleeveless coat. He also said that his saving grace was that he decided to pour water over himself before the entrance because he knew his hair was gonna dry up over the time he was gonna be in the pod. Little did he know that he was gonna be pouring many more bottles of water over himself which were being fed to him from under his pod. He also said that he told the refs that by the time he was done that the pyro guy was better off being already gone because Taker had already told him 2 weeks prior to move the flames farther from him because he could feel them very close yet the pyro guy brushed him off as just being paranoid, and well this happens and Taker had to work a match with second and third degree burns and smelling like he was stuck in a BBQ smoker oven before the match. But that story is just one of many of just how professional Taker was that despite suffering hospitalizing injuries he decided to still go out and give a show. #ThankYouTaker

    I always thought adding the fireball gimmick to Undertaker's entrance was stupid. Fire and hell were synonymous with Kane, who was pure evil, not the Undertaker. Taker's character wasn't evil, it was dark, you see, the darkside represented the misunderstood souls of earth, the mysterious ones who were labeled as evil from the false profits of the world wrestling federation(aka the heels). Undertaker was the grim reaper and the conscience of the world wrestling federation. He was sorta like Batman, the man with the hard exterior, but on the inside he was a moral man. So I feel that the fireball gimmick was unsuitable for Taker.

    • @Oscarus4250
      @Oscarus4250 9 месяцев назад

      Taker WAS upset. In the interviews, he claims that he had told the pyro guy once that the flames were getting too close to him, but the guy said that it was alright, and something like the arena/floor was weirdly constructed, blah blah blah.
      And then the Elimination Chamber incident happened, and apparently, the pyro guy was fired immediately after that incident - as Undertaker returned to the backstage, there was no sight of that guy anywhere.

    Little known fact : CM Punk saved the day. They asked him to get out there,make up his mind and make a promo out of nowhere in order to give time to the medical staff to take care of Taker's injured back. :)

    You can see at the start just how close together the pyros are. If you listen to Taker talk about it, they did a rehearsal where he said 'these pyros are too close, spread them out a little' so how that mistake happened is beyond belief.
