The new smith and wesson 19 “classic” solved the problem by making a 2 piece barrel with a much larger forcing cone, almost as beefy as the barrels used on n frames
You're right, the Carry Comp exists too, in 3" and 2.5". It has a way different finish though. Those two are more satin black, rather than the glossy black of the 19 classic. I think in my mind I barely count those as 19s. They seem like they should have a different designation for such a different finish.
Love the model 19 had 2 ...the cone cracked on one of them from magnums...they don't like magnum rounds to much and that was a common problem with the smiths and especially the model 19...it is recommended for plinking at whatever it is best to use 38 special...hickok 45 has a video himself stating that and there are a bunch of forums on it...smith does make a excellent revolver though I prefer my colts
I wish it was more well documented exact round counts and bullet weights on those sources. Do you remember the round count of magnums that it cracked at? And were you using a particular grain and load consistently?
@@steelbearacademy8855 i do not know the exact round count but the gun was mint condition when I bought i would say 2 or 300 rounds is when I noticed would be my best guess...and I fed it a steady diet of 38 special and federal 357 158 grain some 125 grain I shot a little of everything through it
@@steelbearacademy8855 no problem I just feed my other one alot more 38 special now not that big a deal to me I just choose wisely what I want to shoot more powerful loads at and yeah hopefully so I do love a smith and wesson
Charter arms are nice revolvers with terrible triggers, i can work a smith or ruger trigger down to a about a smooth 7 1/2-8 1/2 pounds and i cant even get an accurate read on a charter arms because the triggers are so heavy.

Yes indeed. Really gives peace of mind.
Love my Model 19. Good video. Subscribed.
I think technically, it's not the only Model 19. There's also the 3" Model 19 Carry Comp. Great videos! Keep up the good work!

@@bigvon7848 thanks for sharing. Well, hopefully these new k frames don't have that issue. They got a nice beefy forcing cone.
