I love your reason for the 10 for Robot Turtles. Sounds like an amazing experience.
I discovered the hobby about a decade ago now. The ten year ago list is full of wonderful nostalgia for me!
Tales from the Red Dragon Inn is so well done, I agree that it still holds up. They've announced on their discord that they're working on a season 2 of sorts, so looking forward to that!
Well it's only 1 year old, would be really bad if it didn't hold up.
@@VeeeeryyyFaaaastSlooooth the series is about revisiting scores from 1+ years ago
Carnival of Monsters was one of our first Hobby games and we really liked it.
You know you've been playing board games for too long when you're dreaming about teaching Power Grid.
FYI Relationship tightrope / Zen Master is now Odd Socks.
Sounds about right for Doomtown Reloaded. I rushed to buy it at Gen Con 2014, played the big release event for it on Saturday...then never played it again.
Thought that would probably happen, since I didn't know anyone else who played and never really made the effort to find them, but I still love the game to death. Even bought every single AEG expansion despite the fact I never played any of them. Just too much fun to go through the cards.
A 6 for Lorcana because Star Wars Unlimited is better? Why not leave Lorcana at 7 and rate Star Wars Unlimited higher?
Lorcana was solid when it came out, but now with 5 sets released, there are so many different types of decks to build, new mechanics solo/cooperative/multiplayer experiences and a competitive scene. great for all ages due to the Disney IP. Artwork is still amazing. Product is widely available now. Lorcana has improved for me in the last year and I think will continue to get better. With Pixar coming in 2026, and knowing they have plans that far out says something.
Agree. Both Lorcana and SWU are solid systems. Just pick what is your preferred game. SWU may have a slightly better game idea with the dual zones, but the art on Lorcana is much higher level. Kinda evens out IMO.
1:33 That looks like a Sierpinski triangle on the cover, not a Pascal triangle.
You say Funkoverse is gone. Is that official? I've been looking for some official announcement on this for some time, and it's proving tricky! Lots of very vague stuff. I would trust you to know on this! I have a few bits for this, which never got played, and now wondering if it's worth keeping?
Well, the board game division of Funkoverse no longer exists, so I would say yes.
Ah yes.... that would do it...😢
Surprised you rated Roll for Adventure so highly. I got it on a whim cause it was £5 brand new and thought it was brutally hard and not particularly interesting. Rated it a 5 myself
Hello, how do you choose the games? Have you tested the old games again? Kind regards
I just talk about the games I've reviewed this same date range years ago. And no, I haven't played them all this week. I have played many of them, and many of them I haven't. I'm just talking about my thoughts on them now.
Hard disagree with King of New York, it's much better than Tokyo. I've taught it to multiple people and everyone always has a blast. A few people even tried KoT afterwards on a week I didn't bring KoNY and they were underwhelmed. Also you say they haven't supported it, but every Monster Pack includes cards for both games, not to mention Power Up. 9/10 still from me.
I'd have to disagree withyou on Lorcana. I think it's much better than Star Wars Unlimited and is even better now that it can also be played solo or cooperative thanks to Ursula's Return.
