It was German rock pioneer Rudolf Schenker who founded The Scorpions in Hanover, Germany, way back in 1965.
Rudolf’s tenacity as a guitarist, and his entrepreneurial drive guided the band into a period of 14 year period- between 1979 and 1993, when Scorpions were one of the most formidable hard rock bands in the world. The venomous sting of Scorpions musical attack shot through your bloodstream when you heard such bangers as “Another Piece of Meat”, “The Zoo”, "No one Like You,” “Blackout” and of course “Rock You Like a Hurricane.”
The group’s fearless nature, led by Schenker, magnified to a whole new level of intensity when the formative lineup took shape in the 70s: there was Schenker on lead guitar Klaus Meine my-nuh glass-shattering lead vocals Herman Rarebell (maribelle) on drums And Francis Buchholz (boohk- holtz)- on bass and backing vocals
The Scorpions lived by the adage that ‘rules were made to be broken.’That bold attitude propelled the music they created, and the locations they chose for their live tours.
In 1988, the Scorpions became one the first bands to play in the Soviet Union- during an uneasy period with rumblings of insurrection at the height of the Cold War. Most artists had no interest in playing behind the Iron Curtain, but for the Scorpions... it was their destiny to do it. The Scorps were allowed to play multiple gigs in Leningrad after first being denied the chance to play in Moscow by Soviet authorities.
The Soviet government was afraid of potential rioting between Russian citizens, and people representing many nationalities from Eastern Europe that lived in the capital city at the time.
The band returned in ’89 as one of the performing acts at the Moscow Music Peace Festival- dubbed the “Woodstock of the USSR." - Развлечения
Poll: What are some of your favorite songs that take you back to a historical moment?
Land of Confusion by Genesis
'Nelson Mandela' - The Special A.K.A.
When I was a kid, I heard 'Renegade' by Steppenwolf and ended up reading articles about Jon Kay and his escape from East Germany. I remember when the wall came down, I wondered why it was all 'Pink Floyd' capitalizing on it because they had an album named 'the Wall' that wasn't even about East Germany, and nobody was talking about Jon Kay and his actual experirences in Renegade.
Radio Gaga at Live Aid
Silent Running Mike and the Mechanics
I am from Berlin (West) and I remember the day when the wall fell. I was 16 at that time, sitting in my room watching an episode of "Tour of Duty" (the german title was "Nam - Einsatz in Vietnam". In the middle of the show a text showed up, saying "BERLIN WALL OPEN!". I read that, walked over to my parents in the living room, saying "did you realize the wall fell?". My dad was laughing, saying "sure, and I'm the pope". So I grabbed the remote and switched over to ZDF. My dad was furious first, but when he saw the live broadcast, he became very very calm. Then I called my grandma. She was already in bed "What you want", she asked. I said "turn on the TV". "Why?". "The wall fell". "WHAT? Wait". I heard how she turned on the TV... and then how she started to cry. 2 mins later she was back on her phone. "I can visit my parents home now!" she said.
Great memories.
Happy memories! 🙂
I remember the glorious day when the wall fell. I was up all night watching coverage of waves people flooding through boarder posts & celebrating on top of the wall.
Did your grandma make back to her old family home?
@@eastwind6820 yes and no... we visited the place where the old house stood, but they demolished it in the 1970s and build something new. She was sad about that. But we visited other places she remembered
Thank you for sharing such an uplifting memory.
Yo he is more understandable singing in a second language than most mainstream artists today singing in their native tongue. What a beast.
modern mainstream just sucks all around.....
IDK I think we're all a little in our own world but naww the mainstream took it too far and they're not just in their own world...they're up their own asses lolz
😈
One of the greatest rock voices
@@jamesdavison2927 agreed, scorpions was always a fave of mine and crazy world is their best, I love every song on it lol
I'm honored to have worked with these guys and legendary producer, Keith Olsen, during the recording of this album. Some of my best memories are from that time.
I remember hearing President Reagan say 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!' Not to long after, the wall came down. I watched it come down on television. I love the idea that a song is out there that memorialize that time in history.
"I remember hearing President Reagan say 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!' Not to long after the wall came down."
The way you've written this implies President Reagan made his speech after the wall had already come down.... The wall came down November 8th 1989.... President Reagan made his speech June 12th 1987....
@@randyreddig5239 OK, I should have put a comma. I had to read it over a few times before I realized what you meant. Lol my bad.
@@missiecarroll7956 All Good, just trying to keep history straight...
This and Jesus Jones' Right Here, Right Now.
I remember that event myself.
One thing's for sure, this song isn't the same without that opening whistle!
For sure.
It's one of those songs you can't help but whistle along to.
Yeah, and it's not like whistling hadn't been done by rockers before (GNR Patience...). It makes even more sense in this song, because wind is what creates a whistle.
This song breaks my heart these days.
I remember when it came out and the magical sense of hope that came with it.
I compare that with how the world is now and it feels we are more divided than ever.
my thoughts exactly
So sad and true
thanks for remembering the SCORPIONS 🦂 seems like everyone has forgotten them but they are a great band and still Rockin.
I've never forgotten them. Easily one the world's greatest bands! Especially live! Klaus Meine's voice is flawless both live and on record!
The Scorps are legends
I haven't forgotten the Scorpions....they kick ass and always have...
I'd say people forgot about Saxon.....but it goes with the territory when every label they've been on doesn't promote em but they are as good as Priest and Maiden if not better....
The band is called Scorpions, not the Scorpions.
Scorpions: One of many deserving bands completely ignored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Never realized that! Crazy!!!!!!!!
Well, consider that Madonna and Run DMC are in the Rock HOF, and you will have realized that it’s not about rock and roll at all.
Foreigner isn't either. All political...
@@zemmy86 It‘s sad, but I‘m sure the Scorpions have the wrong nationality.
Isn't getting into the RNR HoF like getting a star of the Walk of Fame? After nomination they need to accept, there are some costs associated, they have to show up and perform.... assuming they are still alive and able of course.. Then there are some who just do not want the attention attached with it, rather making music for the sake of entertaining the fans.
You can make anything exciting. Your passion came through so clearly here. All this while I thought 'Winds of change' was a really nice song, but now you've gone and made it thoroughly admirable!!!
Wow, thank you!
My six year old boy loves the Scorps very much & sings along to all their songs. We try to describe what this song’s meaning is & he quickly shushes us up because he’s singing..!
Sounds like my son! Thanks for sharing.

I was stationed in Berlin with the US Army when the wall came down, and yes, this song echoed the wind of change we were experiencing all around. Memories.
Wall fell November 1989, Album was released November 1990. To bad they could not get it out earlier.
@@badgerpa9 well, it tied in right after the reunification in September 90. Things were still quite fluid. Soviet Union was rapidly declining. 👍🏻
@@keithkarbel2000 yes, just to bad they did not get it out earlier as it is an anthem for the changes. I was not stationed there like you but I was following it as much as I could. Thank you for your service, hope it was mostly spent in safe places.
Winds Of Change is the top-selling song all time by a German band. (I wrote that before the Professor said it, & I guess it's true). And it's also one of my all time favorites. Another great choice, Professor!
Wind of chance not winds of change and actually is one of the best selling singles of all time sold more then 40millions lol
If you count the digital downloads that number is almost 60 millions
It’s such a iconic song it’s not the best selling song from a German band they are the German band that sold more albums but by far
@limelight81 not even for a mile that songs don’t sell nothing compare to any single of scopions
Eu hast maybe sold a couple of millions but not nothing compare
I was fortunate enough to be stationed in West Germany during the time the wall fell. In fact, I was in Berlin and left there the day before the wall fell. It was my first time to visit Berlin and I took pictures of the wall, checkpoint Charlie, and the Brandenburg gate. After that I went back to Berlin several times and took pictures of the same places to document the gradual and complete destruction of the wall. The pictures are among my most treasured possessions.
How old are you now

Wow. Thank you for sharing that. Amazing.
I was in Wurzburg in the 3rd ID. It was an amazing time to be there! I feel so lucky to have been in country when it all went down. Cheers!
YASSSSS! My mom went through a massive Scorpions phase a few years back and really turned me on to this and the deep and beautiful video of the Berlin Wall coming down (I was 8 and I have a piece of it still at her house!) This and Send Me an Angel are my favorites of theirs! She'll be thrilled to see this one!! 😁😁
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Scorps rule.
*Yes
My mom is a big musical influence on me too. Aren't rock and roll moms the best!?!
Omg those are my two faves from them. Love his voice 💗🕊️
Im a vet of Desert Sheild/Storm. This song brings so many emotions of that era for me. Memories that will last a lifetime. I cant think of another song that hits like this one does.
Desert Storm vet here. So many memories from that time in my life.
In the mid 2000's some buddies of mine had a Scorpions tribute band. They always set this song aside when they planed set lists for shows. Their idea was to save it until they felt the audience was losing interest and bust it out strategically because they knew anyone who showed up to a show for a scorpions tribute band was gonna love it.
The other song I associate with the fall of the Berlin Wall is "Right Here, Right Now" by Jesus Jones. The video makes it pretty clear thats what the song is about.
An absolute gem of a song!
great tune
It was not Perestrojka that created tensions and shortages. It was the tensions and shortages caused by the socialism that gave Gorbatsjov no other option than to reform, to liberalise. Communism is very good at killing the human spirit, killing innovation, and productivity. They solved that problem with the Gulag system, forced labor camps. People critical of the regime, one billion people in total ended up in these camps! A hundred million people died there, worked to death...
This man gets it... Speaking the truth! Thank You!!
Kids today don’t know the horrid truth about socialism/communism as practiced by the Soviet Union and its satellite countries in Eastern Europe, Red China/PRC and Cuba.
I generally don't like whistling in songs.... but this song is perfect. BTW, I love the Synchronicity shirt! Great album.
lol ..said the same about the shirt. what an album indeed
I've just popped over from Stewart Copeland's FB page! 😀
My first husband was born in the fall of 1945 in the British sector of occupied Germany that later became the Federal Republic of Germany. He came to the USA in 1980. We watched the fall of the Berlin Wall together at our home in California. It’s hard to describe the look on his face, distant, almost misty eyed. He hated almost all pop and rock music, including German rock. But there was ONE song he liked. “Winds Of Change” by the Scorpions.
Klaus Meine was the German Robert Plant. What a voice!
History becomes clearer with the perspective of time. 30 years later, we can see how Wind of Change meant so much more than most songs. I have become a fan of this channel thanks to this kind of perspective. Well done.
Adam, thanks a lot for this issue. Wind Of Change is truly special song for me. That time I was a teen, living in Moscow and looking at Gorky Park from my classroom window every day. I clearly remember a feeling of high hopes, uncertain yet expectations of something great to happen, flying in the air. We, first ex-USSR generation, certainly found whole world being just around the corner , within one step.
Scorps captured this feeling extremely precise. Such song couldn't be written on order. You need to experience all that yourself to paint it this way.
When I listen to it it's like a travel back in time , raising senses of summer night of late 80th Moscow with holographical depth.
I won backstage tickets from a local radio station [98 ROCK!] along with with a meet & greet (and a signed guitar giveaway) to see the Scorpions in Tampa at USF. I didn't win the guitar, but it was an awesome show and backstage had sammiches!! =)
I remember sitting in class and the teacher dragging the t.v. in so we could all watch. It might as well have been another planet to my 9 year old self when she first started explaining what was happening but as I watched it, I remember getting chills. It was suddenly very close
I was in the Army stationed in Germany. I was working in intelligence on the East/West German border the day the Berlin Wall came down. Great memories! Thanks for making this video!
Only recently discovered this channel. I remember the Moscow Music Peace Festival fondly. I was in high school in Hawaii, and my history teacher (and he has a whole other story that blows the mind) Mr Ikeda had a feeling that it was going to be something. He had recorded the festival and we spent a whole week of classes watching it. He didn't even care when all of the metal heads held up lighters in class. The fall of the wall is another vivid memory. My late mother was an amateur historian and I remember her standing in our living room, watching the news and very quietly saying that she never thought that she would see it coming down. Then Wind of Change came out and it became a shared loved song with me and Mum for the rest of her days.
I turned 17 a few months after the Berlin Wall went up in 1961, saw Checkpoint Charlie in 1963 while there when President Kennedy gave his famous Berlin Wall speech that June, and watched as it began to come down 28 years later in November 1989. I am a Veteran of the "Cold War," and the Vietnam War. Great video, yet again, Adam! Cheers! :)
Hey, Adam and fellow music junkies! As a German, I can definitely say that this song has a special place in all our hearts- thank you so much for covering it!!! For my generation, born after Germany was reunified (I'm 28), "Wind of Change" is a true time machine - whenever I hear it, images of the Fall of the Berlin Wall and East Germans breaking through the barriers, flooding the gates and dancing on top of the Wall come to my mind - instant goosepumps and tears every time, even though I wasn't there (GOD, how I WISH I had been on that night - "Take me to the magic of the moment")!!! I am eternally grateful to my East German countrymen for their bravery in the Peaceful Revolution in the name of FREEDOM!!! Three chords and the truth, my friends!✌
My Favorite band since I saw them live at Monsters of Rock in '88. The best band there (in my opinion), and at the time, Van Halen was definitely my favorite. The Scorps are a fantastic band, for sure - and definitely put on an excellent live performance. If you haven't seen them live - check them out !!
The scorpions are so good. Timeless albums from the 70s through the 90s.
AND the 2000’s! Check out 2004’s “Unbreakable,” and 2007’s “Humanity-Hour 1”…both great!!!
This song CHANGED THE WORLD. I was twelve when I heard the whistling for the first time, the wall was coming down and I was just barely old enough to understand; it still chokes me up 30 years later.
Mmm, your memory is off (as is the timeline portrayed in this video). The Berlin Wall came down in November 1989. This song didn't come out until January 1991. You can look up both events if you like.
I had tears in my eyes through most of this video. Thanks Prof.
This song always reminds me of Koh Samui Thailand.
I'd have Margaritas on the beach, and the bartender who was serving me loved the Scorpions,
and I really like this song, so she'd always play it for me when I'd get there :-)
Music is definitely a universal language! Great to hear of an example of two people from different nations and cultures getting to bond as friendly acquaintances with the shared language of music.
My Husband is an incredible Glam Rock/Shred Guitarist..as time goes on we've been more involved in 80's music events. I'm a Rock Chick. Recently I've been updating my wardrobe. I just bought a leather vest..Beautifully hand painted with the Scorpions on the back. I'm also a Critical Care Nurse. I'm pretty worn out from being a Frontline worker. I'm having an emotional week. I am so so glad you made this video..I had forgotten this bit of Rock History. You can be sure I'm going to wear the heck out of this vest. It just became my symbol of Hope. 🤘Thank You!
This song is not only immortal, it marks an iconic, historic moment in time. Not just for our country, but for mankind. The start of perestroika and glasnost. Just think,Two mortal enemies together to hear music,... The universal language.
What a song, lyrically as well as musically. I will remember it forever.
My first rock concert was Scorpions with Bon Jovi opening in 1984. I'll never forget it.
I saw that tour too. Gosh, I was just a kid. Bon Jovi was relatively unknown except for "Runaway," which was the last song of their set. They weren't too shabby, but no one had any idea they'd break big like they did. One of the live videos from that tour -- for "Big City Nights" -- shows footage of the show I was at. Sadly I don't appear on camera (ha ha), but it's a kick watching it all these years later.
Two days ago while packing for an upcoming move, I found my VHS of the Moscow Music Peace Festival. My nephew insisted I just throw it away. I said, "Are you crazy that is a part of history". Now I can't wait to make him sit down and watch you tell him about that history. Thanks for all you do.
I recall having to take a test with others in our school's gym. The a/c in the gym was making a whistling sound that sounded like the whistling at the start of the song. It was all I could hear/concentrate on and every time I hear this song, I'm taken back to that moment. I think it was for summer school as well and did pass so it's a good memory! Thanks Professor for all of your stories and work as well!

"Engel" by Rammstein is another powerful songs that start with a catchy whistle =)
I was stationed in West Germany during that time and it was an amazing thing to see and live through. Thanks for showcasing the song, the story behind it and the Scorpions in general.
For me, the song is bittersweet. It evokes memories of hope and brotherhood. That hope and brotherhood has been squandered though in the ensuing years. The song highlights the stark contrast between the way things are and how they could and should be.
why the scorpions are not in the hall of fame is mind boggling they deserve it more than any rapper
Like a couple of there songs but never knew much about, this is a great education and I love that
We were big into the Scorps back in the late 70's. We thought it was cool that they were Germans that couldn't speak English - but ROCKED in our universal language....
My first ever concert, The Scorpions with Trixter. What a great show!
Hey Prof. I was 18yo in 1991, and my school worked with the group People to People for a trip across Europe. This included an 8 day stint in what was then the Soviet Union, 5 days in Moscow, 3 days in Minsk (Belarus). My metal music knowledge was lacking, and I was completely unaware of the Scorpions. Flying first to Paris, then on to Moscow, it was in Charles De Gaulle airport that I first heard Wind of Change. I immediately bought a cassette and batteries for my Walkman, and we listened to it on repeat constantly over headphones, all throughout our time in the USSR. When we landed in Moscow, our busdriver had an old boombox strapped up in the front, and we jury rigged a cord to play the walkman over the auxiliary port and blasted Scorps "Wind of Change" all over, everywhere we went.
We were of course followed by the KGB, 3 very conspicuous agents all in black suits so as to distract us American subversive kids from the real hidden agents, and we made sure to keep the windows on the bus down, and the door open so they could hear it. We'd walk past whistling as best we can that melody. For over a week, we were deep in the heart of Communism, over 30 American teens singing this song hundreds of times.
Later in our trip, walking up to the Berlin Wall remnants, touching it where it was still standing in places, talking to people who were just as awestruck as we were, and resinging this song was just as amazing.
Another week later in the trip, in Amsterdam, our hotel overlooked an ampitheater that hosted a Scorpions concert....we bribed our way onto the hotel roof and had near perfect nosebleeds and we saw the Scorps play it live.
This was my anthem of 1991, the anthem of a summer, the anthem that taught me more about the world that I lived in, the history that I saw and experienced first hand, than any book and any history teacher ever did.
What a way to relive this!
I can feel the wind of change blowing in Cuba. My people is hungry for liberty.
@limelight81 I had never seen anything like this. In 1994 there were protests but only in a neighborhood in Havana. Now it is nation wide.
For historical music, you have to remember Fogerty/CCR's "Fortunate Son" during the Vietnam War.
That was the same year another whistle song dominated the chart. Anyone remember "Joyride" by Roxette?
I remember thr Roxette song. I have the album and am a fan. Such a sad thing we lost lead singer Marie Fredrickson from a battle with cancer. Thank you for linking This whistling song to the Scorpions song. 😍
@Janet Cox - Hehe, the word "joyride" had crossed my mind a bit earlier today, and of course I also had to think of that song 😀
I'm whistling it right now thanks to your comment, haha. Also, they recently released a 4K version of the song with the video clip, and it looks gorgeous!

I've always loved the Scorpions, but didn't realize that Winds of Change had such an impact. The Scorpions deserve the accolades they're an amazing band. I also love Jesus Jones and I love the way you work that in there. Keep up the awesome work, I'm still addicted.
Loved this video. That song so moved me at the time and still today. It just carried the day with hope. I appreciate your research and interviews.
Crazy World was the very first album I purchased on CD instead of tape. This song and Send Me an Angel are still the standout songs on this album.
Scorpions are one of the best rock bands! They make Germany so proud because they made history forever with such a heart felt song and many others for the world. Please Professor, show more about this legendary band so deserving to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Thank you so much for all you do and all the passion you add to your videos 💝❤️💞
No one could see the Berlin Wall falling as they didn't have ZENNI eyewear.
I remember that song so well. Just as it did then, It evokes a feeling of hope and joy. It relieved the pent-up stress of living daily with the threat of nuclear war. A feeling I haven't had in decades.
I didn't hear the song until after the Wall came down. It's a beautifully touching song.
Send me an Angel and Winds of Change are my favorite of Scorpions. Rock you like a hurricane of course I'd my introduction to the band from MTV. Remember the day very well when the wall came down in Berlin and when I heard this song I fell hard for it. One of those songs that just resonates deep in your soul 💗🕊️
I got to see Scorpions perform in Germany in 2004. Still one of my favorite concerts of all time.
Notice, the words on the stage for the Moscow Music Peace festival were in english. Ask yourselves, why? On another note, music is universal. We all feel angst. We all feel love. We all feel he need to show injustice to others. There is a song out there for whatever it is you feel. Music is perhaps the universal solvent. We can hear a song and it can transport us to the time we felt something. It can be that emotion we had at that point in time. It can be the feeling of a season. Music is much more than it seems. That is why some seek to ban some songs like books are banned in many places. Thought and emotion are anathema to those who would control us. Music is, like literature, a universal language.
I first heard the scorpions when I bought the zoo album without knowing anything about them. Now I have been a fan for well over 40 years and think that that one band in all of its transformations one of the greatest bands in the history of rock music. One of the greatest guitarists in history, Michael Shanker is a graduate of the scorpions
And Uli Roth is the second greatest guitarist in the history of rock music.
As great as song as it is, I don't know that people who didn't live through the time it was released can truly appreciate it. It truly captured the a sense of the world many never thought would arrive.
I actually met Doc McGhee backstage at an Aerosmith / Kiss concert. I had no idea who he was, and I was a bit annoyed when he invited me back to his office and sat there talking with me for a while about some of his groups he managed.
I was wanting to meet Steven Tyler or Joe Perry, not this old cigar smoking guy. I did not appreciate it at the time, but now I remember it fondly whenever I see him show up in a video or show like this.
I had no idea I had spent time with a true rock legend.
Always be aware and looking for life’s opportunities. You just never know when one might be a blessing in disguise.
Saw them on that concert tour in LA and they were AWESOME!!!!
I have loved the SCORPIONS from the 1st album I heard! Seen them live 2 times and they were great I'm 63 now.
love the synchronicity shirt professor......sometimes it gets forgotten how massive that album was because it came between thriller and purple rain......sorry I know it's off the topic of this show which I liked, but that shirt really caught my attention.
Great video, love the Scorps one of my favourites and unrightufully underappreciated bands nowdays.
White Lion "When the Children Cry" is another song that meant a lot at the time (1987 I think) for the world to be less like it is again now. My kids comment that the 80s was so great they never had it great, I remind them the world was as much a hell scape, you just need to look for the positive things that do happen. The Carter years where horrible for so many people, farms and homes lost to high interest rates, jobs lost, etc., but times always get better, stay positive and things always get better.
One of my favorite Concerts ever was Foreigner, The Scorpions, and Iron Maiden at one of Bill Graham's Day on The Green Concerts in Oakland California. Amazing!!!
Love the Scorpion's Professor! The "No one like you" video at Alcatraz was one of my favorite videos back in the day! Thanks for sharing Professor!
In the early 90's, I worked in a department store. There was an opened tape of that Scorpions album. I played it over & over every time I was working in electronics. My favorite song on that album is "Send Me An Angel." What an amazing power ballad!!!
Never expected this kind of track from them The Scorpions 🦂 🎸
It was a surpriser when I first heard it for sure. Thank you for the comment.
Amazing song. The first time I heard the song/saw the video was at an expo in Kochi, India where I live in 1991. I was about 14 and my family & other relatives were checking out the stalls where the local cable companies (very new to us at the time) had screens up. They had MTV on and the song that was playing was the Scorps Wind Of Change. My cousins and I were already big fans of the band; having been introduced to their music by an older cousin 4 years before. We stopped to watch it and all loved the song.
Scorpions was such a good band. I still have the concert ticket from when I saw them in 1991.
Even if we take away its historical significance, we are talking about the perfect song. Incredibly well written with amazing melodies and sound.
Hearing 'See Emily Play ' and 'Arnold lane'. I was 14 . 1994. And I know pink floyd . And going "thats pink floyd". My life changed musically that night. Thank you Syd(r.i.p)
Totally loved this video. I got to see Scorpions playing live in 2016, this has made me more aware of the legends I stood in front of.
As a long time fan of this group, this is my favorite song from them (tied with theres no one like you). And yes, when I saw them in concert, Klaus really whistles during the song.
Always my favourite scorpion tune.
This song still is on heavy rotation on some radios here in Brazil
Scorpions, My All-Time Favorite Band!!!!!!
I remember being enthralled by what happened as I worked my shift early in the morning at a local retail store in my small hometown of Madera, California. Wow that was magical for all those people separated by that wall. My late father served in the US Army a tank specialist was based in Frankfurt, Germany. I was 18 years old at the time full of hope for my generation to stop the threat of nuclear war. I remember watching in 1983 the movie The Day After. As a fourth grader to discuss at school the next morning with fellow classmates how real that reality could be if nuclear war broke out. Now that I am older I realize freedom isn’t free it comes with a cost and sacrifice of loved one’s putting their life at risk for all Americans to be free.😢
P.S. I love the Scorpions music.
I loved the whole Crazy World album.
Always been my favorite Scorpions song!
I saw the Scorpions on the "Monsters of Rock" tour in 1988 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas TX. I was a fan before that. And I'm still a fan today.
Jon Bon Jovi will not allow the Scorpions to back him up on tour - he has so much respect for them. Finally got to see them in 2018 when they toured Australia with Def Leppard. Great concert from 2 of my favourite bands. I wish they would release the Moscow Peace Festival on DVD or BluRay. What an incredible concert. Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Scoprions, Ozzy, Skid Row. Wow. Great, great video Professor. Awesome.
I still get misty eyed when I hear this song.
I love The Scorpions so much. Some of the best hard rock songs ever.
The 'children of tomorrow' line...
That really meant something to me.
My wife & I had been married for about a year at the time the Berlin Wall came down.
The world was definitely waking up from history.
one of the greatest bands ever ,, and its indeed the pace anthem of the century
I was lucky enough to see the Scorpions with Pat Travers and Sammy Hagar in Albuquerque. I think it was '79 or so. Good times!
I was visiting my brother & sister-in-law in Ramstein Germany with my 15 mo old son when the wall came down. I'll never forget it.
