Mr. Szabo- I'm so grateful that I attended Geffen Academy and had you as a teacher and mentor. Thank you for everything that you do and for always believing in me. I wouldn't have gotten to where I am today without you!
Thanks so much Mayan! You did an awesome job and put in so much work to become who you are. You've always cared about wellness in the most important ways!
@@RESzabo ... . Here wish u health. Sad reality we live, man. I'm surviving barely. Shalom and peace be to you, I actually grew up in Israel as an Asian, lots of pretty sharp stones... 😅😅😅😅
This is nice. The biggest problem with mental health is that no one is teaching trauma informed care and non-judgmental language and approaches, aka "meeting people where they are at." And you don't even bother to mention cultural differences. Trauma informed care is also a DEI initiative and is accessible to everyone who is willing to meet people's emotions where they are at, accept it, and validate from a place of compassion and common understanding of the human struggle. This talk is, at best, a re-tread of a coping skill or self-care training you can receive just about anywhere.
I believe both of these approaches are important. Trauma informed care is critical in schools for people to support students and address what they need to learn. There are many trauma informed programs that are effective. Those programs help address a piece of the mental health crisis. What is also true is that people of all cultures don't have a language for mental health. Schools in this country do not teach mental health. Part of the reason they don't teach about mental health is because they don't have a public health approach to take. In my decades of work and in the school I helped create, we have evidence based data that shows a language for mental health is a strong baseline for everyone. As you said the solutions can't be an either or situation. We need as many programs as possible.
Very Nice. Our daufgret of 15 is having a hard time. This was inspiring to hear. If your talk from Grand Rapids today makes on line, please add a link. Would enjoy hearing you keynote there.

Mr. Szabo- Phenomenal. No words for the gratitude that Mayan was blessed with having you as her teacher and knowing you.
Thanks so much! She has always been on her own journey to find what works best for her and it seems to have really made a difference!
So grateful to have had you as a teacher!
Thanks Justin!
Attending his training at the Geffen Academy is the best professional development I have ever experienced.
Thanks so much! You are doing incredible work in Arkansas and it's inspiring to see.
