Your thorough and well presented review of BlueBus solidified my decision to make the purchase. After a long delay due to parts shortages, it finally arrived. I'm so happy with the product and would definitely recommend it to anyone over any other Bluetooth implementation method.
I have one of the first to arrive in the UK, very happy with it so far the sound through the DSP system on my e39M5 is awesome. Ted (the inventor) assures me there is more features to come.
If it works flying around at 120-130 then its a go. Anything beats the phone flying to the floor of the passenger side when you just want to hear the music. :)
ok so through the head unit you can program how many times your signal blinks? as in bump to switch lanes? After you do this and you change head units does it stay?
Hey I like your video to explain things very well and over some of the other ones on the blue bus but one question I've never had answered is is there any more pros to the blue bus when using it versus the business radio and the navigation radio do you get more options because it's navigation and less options because there's no display on the business radio? Like for tire pressure sensor
The blue bus is in conjunction to the business radio. It allows you to connect you phone via bluetooth with modern integration and HD quality audio streaming. The developer just added other simple fun tricks like auto lock and triple blink
GREAT video. I have a E39, but how can I determine whether I have a stock harness to incorporate the hands-free E39 phone into the bluebus or can I add a mic into the bluebus? I have all the buttons on the wheel, but who knows if they are connected to anything. Will the VIN help?
Hey! On E46, when you open the trunk there’s some icons telling you if your car is pre-wired for things like phone, and that’s all you need. I would ask Ted on bluebus.Dev, and I’m sure he can help you out better than me
Older video but very helpful. One question - do you lose the CD player functionality or can I still listen to CDs when I want to and bluetooth when I want to?
Whoever has installed this on a e46 convertible with Nav! Please do a video. For the life of me, I can't find the 54 pin connector for phone call functions. I took a part most of the liner in my truck.
I would recommend emailing the developer. His email is on Bluebus.dev When I bought this, it wasn't included, but I do recall him saying he was thinking about it so it may have changed
Love it but this product is hardly available. Ordering now will take 4 months to shipment and with shipment duties and taxes it will be way over $300 in Europe.
Although its unfortunate availability is so rough, it is again due to the ambition and drive of a single individual. The pros of such an undertaking is extreme attention to detail and great focus on core features. The cons is that as an individual, its hard to scale without the manufacturing background and connections that OEM's have. Regardless, this is a lovely addition to the aftermarket community and I am excited to see where it goes from here
For what it's worth, I'm hoping to ship the next batch earlier, but I want to give myself some breathing room, because as mentioned, this entire project is managed by just myself. The only thing I don't do is board assembly, as that is done by an electronics assembly house.

So glad you like it! I can barely imagine life without mine
I received the BlueBus at the end of July and have been very happy with it. This review is spot-on.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you're enjoying it! I use mine every day
Your videos are absolutely incredible. Was thinking of buying the bluebus
Thanks so much! It's comments like this that keep me going. Definitely recommending picking up if on the fence and if you love the stock look
@@BuiltForRedline hey I have a 2006 325ci can that work with the bluebus

Happy to hear! It is so cool, and I can't wait to see where Ted takes it
thanks for making this video! I'm gonna do the install soon
happy to help! You're going to love it, it's so awesome!

Thank you so much
Will it fit an E46 M3 with the 6cd changer in the trunk and Harman Kardon System (which means it has DSP)?
It is compatible with every e46

I ordered mines
For my z4 😁
Super exciting!
Great video bro
Thanks so much! Hopefully got some new stuff coming for you guys soon.
I have a CD changer, can I still use it?
Yes, of course! This is just another selectable option of sources you can play
Older video but very helpful. One question - do you lose the CD player functionality or can I still listen to CDs when I want to and bluetooth when I want to?
You would lose the rear six-disc changer in the trunk, but you can totally still use the CD changer on the headunit. Hope that helps!
@@BuiltForRedline Just saw your reply. Thank you! My bluebus just arrived today
I’m thinking about getting it for my E39; I still love listening to CDs ..does installing this get rid of the CD function?
You can still use the CD tray in the dash, but you will lose functionality of the 6 CD changer in the trunk as that is what this plugs into.
Would this work with the business cassette radio? The one that takes tapes instead of cds?
As long as the car is pre wired for phone and disc changer, yes!
So what happenes with a car that doesn’t have a phone like a very basic 02 525i that doesn’t have a phone?

Try under the rear bench seat. Sometimes it's there inside a metal box :(
im in the same pickle as u, i have the nav and i cant find the54 pin connector
same for me
@@CtrlGamedid u ever find where the connector was?
@@barrymack9516 no, but I will maybe search for it in the feature
Question: Does the TCU/ULF adapter mentioned, come with Bluebus?
I would recommend emailing the developer. His email is on Bluebus.dev When I bought this, it wasn't included, but I do recall him saying he was thinking about it so it may have changed
I just received mine and it still doesn't come with the adapter.
@@mrmonday42 That's for the telephone mic integration right? Everything is working except my mic during calls and I'm assuming this is the reason why
@@tss996gt3 I believe that is the case. I ordered mine and made sure to request this needed cable. Now the wait until FEB 2021....
What if my car has a cd changer but is not prewired for a phone?
You only need to be prewired for a CD changer, that’s it!
Worth $200?
Without a doubt
