I'm so glad I found your channel. I LIVE LOVE LOVE plants, but so often I've bought things or I don't know how I wind up with half the plants I do, sometimes it feels like they just appear in my house, but so often I found I can't figure out how to fix something or even how to do some basic care. Your channel has inspired me. Thanks so much for everything you do
Really enjoyed your content!!! All those although very common one of my favorite plants, there’s something satisfying about propagating them, and dividing them and sharing them!!!
In the summer I’m a gardener and by far the most insane Aloe Vera I’ve ever seen is the one in our lunch room at work. It’s huge with leaves as wide as most peoples hands. I shouldn’t be that surprised because our bosses whole job is having a green thumb but it’s just so impressive, I didn’t know they could even get that big
Your channel is one of my happy, safe corners on the whole internet, where I can enjoy such lovely content. It also helps my novice gardener self as well. Thank you! Aloe U vera much!
You are my plant guru...i was having my best year yet with plants! Its been a rough road and i lost a few good plants, but, it getting better! And watching you has been a next level move for me! THANK YOU!!
If you’re growing in the ground (especially if there’s rocks covering the bottom like in my cacti garden) keep an eye out for surprise pop up pups nearby too!! I just finished pruning for the next couple weeks and discovered a few new babies omg it’s so exciting lol my husband said “good job taking care of your babies” it feels like that sometimes especially ogling over pups like this 😂🥰😅
Love your videos thank you! I have a huge garden outside but always have more trouble with my indoor babies. Just got a beautiful Begonia Flamingo Queen and if you have any more tips for these I'd appreciate it!
Hello Krystal i love your videos, thank you. Could you please do something on maidenhair ferns mine is looking like it is dying - browning leaves and looking very sad. Its soil is moist and was doing fine in its spot of indirect light, thank you!
I got a wonderful aloe aristata as a gift from my friends. I moved recently so it's supposed to give my new home a green and fresh touch ;) They told me to water it not too often. I do it like once a week. But some of its parts are turning brown and shrink. Is that normal? Do I have to water it more?
i have propagated a few aloe leaves that were dying so i cut them, let them callous over a few days and then planted them and they actually thrived!! had more die than actually work though, it can be done but!!
I found out my aloe didn't have good roots today because the leaves had brown spots on them, and I noticed it was not as perky as it normally is so I checked and found no roots. So what did I do I went straight to your shorts and found this one for consultation. Thank you for the help
Any idea what causes some plants to make pups and others to focus on growing a single, monstrous mother plant? I have multiples (in the same location with the same care) with completely opposite grow priorities!
I have blue agave in my yard that I planted years ago as baby’s. They got really big and are a couple years old. They recently all grew a small baby and wanted to know how I could separate them from the ground.
Wish you mentioned that pups with no roots need to be left for up to three days to dry out (cure) that ends so it doesn’t rot or better chance not to rot.
Pups without roots or just tiny roots, leave them out in the air to heal over for a few days. Then put them in soil, they have a better chance of surviving.
I have a Lucky bamboo I got probably about 4yrs? Ago, it seems to be doing well, very green, maybe one or two leaves that have dried out at the tips, but it hasn't grown very much. It's in the glass vase I got it in, it's filled with rocks to keep it stable, and I keep it filled to the rocks with water. Is there anything I can do to encourage growth?
Does it matter where u live ? I live in Florida and I when I’m done using my aloe I throw the left over skins and pieces into my yard and they grow like crazy ?
Hi Krystal, I’ve been trying to grow aloe plant, my most recent got root rot. When I got it I checked the soil and I there was root rot, so I changed the soil and didn’t water it and still I lost the plant again HELP ME PLEASE 😢😢I have plans to get another one please let me know what to look for
Can i grow without roots? Because Its roots had melted a few days ago. So I removed the rotting part. Its roots were damaged due to over watering.(heavy rain 🌧️ ) pls help me
I was the moderator of the ambbabies subreddit, the last victim of getting banned, and I wanted to clarify that Amber actually wasn’t the one who got it taken down. We had to ban a member who kept harassing people in the comments and they spam messaged us that they would get it taken down. A few weeks later, it was gone. I truly don’t think this was ALR because she knows how much Reddit helps keep her relevant. Just my two cents
@@nanangd.n.4482I’m doing this currently. After putting it in the soil, should I leave soil dry or give it a good water? How often should I water after that until its sustained roots? keep it moist or let it completely dry out as I would if it roots?
I have a really big house plant that has a baby growing in it now too and it’s taking over the plant mama and making it fall to the side :0 I was told if I repot it it could kill it :o do you know what to do? It looks like a baby palm tree with a green stem tho
You can plant single leaves and they will not rot in soil. As long as you have the entire leaf including the bottom white part, it will propagate well if you put it in lightly damp soil.
So I do not get much sunlight at all. I have a downstairs bedroom and the sun is blocked by shade trees. Can I put the aloe under a grow light? I know thats not the ideal condition but I really want an aloe bad and am afraid it would die with very little light.
I'm gonna have to do this ASAP coz idk if my aloes are surviving and there's baby ones growing with the big one They grew from just a leaf that you sia would rot ? It didn't rot and formed into a new aloe ?
Whaaat? I live in AZ and, here at least, you can definitely throw an aloe leaf on the ground and it will just start growing on its own. Maybe that’s because they do super well here though
If I'm feeling particularly aggressive ill slice the stem with a razor and paint some indole butyric acid rooting hormone on it, that stuff works magic.
I can usually just pull the pups straight out of the soil if they are small enough, however, I have broken a few. 😕
These were harder to pull out but if you have fresh and soft soil, you can totally pull nicely which is always so satisfying.
@@PlantswithKrystal omg i love ur channel :)
Maybe soak it before transplanting? That's what I'm going to try
they're called pups? omg thats so cute
Can I save them if I tried to put them in water?
“Aloe there” 🥰
Thanks for another lovely video ❤️
Thank you for being here 💚
Beatiful Aloe
I've just repotted mine and over 100 babies/ kids and both my mother plants has been flowering for the past 3 years 😊

Do a thing on Aloe care, because I cannot keep them! I have tried over and over and they always develop root rot! How often to water?

when you're growing new roots on a stem how moist or dry do you keep the soil

I’m not even a plant person but I’m totally in love with you btw
I put mine in water.
It grows roots
I Love You Woman !!! ❤️ thanks to you , I have learned so much !! 🪴
Can aloe thrive indoors only? I don’t have an outdoor area for my plants.
Do you have a preferred soil mix and does it come premixed with perlite or do you get the soil and mix the perlite in?
If you have pitcher plants could you do a video on transplanting them? I have a huge one and I'm afraid to replant it without killing it

“Wow” 💚
That last bit of info really helps!
How do you grow aloe indoor? Mine doesn't do well when I keep them indoor
If you just have the base with no roots , do I have to wait for it to callous before replanting and watering ?
omgs, where did you get your shirt from!! it’s beautiful ❤

Yes, aloe is a desert plant. So in a hot dryish climate they tend to do better.

How did you learn all of this?
Can I cut the base shorter and propagate? I don’t have any pups and I just have one long ass base with stems coming off
Yes you can, just give yourself a good amount of base in that soil.
Can't you propagate the roots in water?
Can i grow without roots? Because Its roots had melted a few days ago. So I removed the rotting part. Its roots were damaged due to over watering.(heavy rain 🌧️ ) pls help me
Thats sad to know!
Ive had an aloe leaf in soil for 2 weeks that I let callous over. It seems to be ok though, and no signs of rotting
Root bound for sure! Woooaaahhh!
❤️
I need your help! Every time my Venus fly trap eats, the leaf (flower?) goes black and dies and I have to cull it. What do I do?

I have an aloe that I’ve been wanting to prop for a little while now. Thank you!!
So if my aloe has no stem and I put it in moist soil it will just rot?
💚💚💚💚💚
If the pups don't have roots, should I let them dry out first?
Yes. That's what i usually do when they have no root or it's broken. But it's not 100% success

Yes, mine did great under a grow light.
can't we just cut a leaf and put it in water? Just like snake plant propogation?
When pulling the roots apart you have to soak them and get them very wet that way they pull apart easily
I've had my aloe for 3 years and still no pups.am I doing something wrong.
What about cinnamon as a rooting agent
I need help with one of my plants! Idk what I’m doing wrong. I loves her so much but she looks so sad.
can i grow aloe from the last one you showed.. & have a accent helpful for asian plz.
So how can I save my aloe plant if it’s just the leaves and it’s mushy from the root and I have no roots
So if my root thing fell off is it dead like is there no saving it? 😢
I need help to save my Fig plant
Get to a nursery. They helped me with my African Milk plant. They have people who are knowledgeable and can help you. 🌿🧡🪴
Put in 8 or 10 inch pot please
Not me who just repotted my aloe with regular potting mix in a pot with no drainage... 🤦 oops
Dry out the leaf for like a week then ready for soil
How to grow watermelon
I'm gonna have to do this ASAP coz idk if my aloes are surviving and there's baby ones growing with the big one

Yeah - me, too. Once or twice a year, I fill a garbage can with aloe that has overgrown its area. It hurts, but …
Can’t wait to own these again, any windows capable of keeping these alive are full I should move soon 🤔 my plant family is slowing down rapidly
I don't get it if I just have leave no base or roots what do I do ?
What if there aren't small plants near it?
Can you replant a Venus fly trap?
If I'm feeling particularly aggressive ill slice the stem with a razor and paint some indole butyric acid rooting hormone on it, that stuff works magic.
What can I do if mine looks like the sad 1 w/ no roots?
I'm not diong so good with mine as mine grows the stems bend over break and go black
Maybe the soil is why I couldn't keep aloe for more that a few years. Imma try some new mixes
