    From Australia, I love the Dixie Echoes and put Dale Shelnut up there with the great lead singers of that time.

    My parents took me to all-night gospel sings many times - - some of the happiest memories I have where music is concerned. At the tender age of below 15, the jubilation, fun and no-holds-barred attitudes of these singers showed me that people could actually ENJOY praising God in song. These musicians seemed to have imbued with some special power, some joy that my parents and other adults at our Southern Baptist Church in Jackson, MS knew anything about. If they knew about it, this power was not unleashed in our very strict church services, where the only times women were heard was regarding Women's Mission Union, a solo song on Sunday morning or with the "revival" choir. All Night Gospel sings unleashed a freedom in worship that was very liberating to me. The phrase "Be the light" took on fresh meaning!

    • @WillBravoNotEvil
      @WillBravoNotEvil 5 лет назад +1

      cherry edwards Calling this "like a barbershop quartet" tells me nothing except that you can count to four. Barbershop is highly regimented, quite different harmony and acapella. So to recap, you're wrong about everything except four. Also, all caps is a sign of mental illness, so maybe you should seek medical help.
