It was a bag of shit, Im suprised Jake Gyllenhaal was involved in this. Connor Mcgregor was absolutely embarassing and he made the movie over the top cheesy as fk, its as if the guy was coked up during this movie and lets face it he probably was. The first Road House is 10 x better, there was no need for a remake.
I'm a fan of the original (despite it's many flaws) and having heard this was being made, thinking it was going to be a huge mistake, and then watching so many bad reviews of this movie... I watched it anyway just to see for myself. I went in with VERY low expectations and didn't look at it as a remake; rather as a loose rework of a classic concept. As a result, i really enjoyed it! Sure, it's loaded with issues and you wouldn't have missed 30% of the content if it had been lost in the edit... but I laughed out loud at a few of the cheesy quotes: Who taught you shapes? Hello band! (Jack Nicholson style) Bump! in particular. (The piano tuning gag should have been said the other way round IMHO). I definitely got the idea Connor was hamming it up... and the after credit scene left me with a big smile. Just my opinion.
they for sure used a cg double for post malone. his movements looked odd but especially that last final combo, a leg kick, gut punch, and double right jab that knocked his opp out, is the most noticeable CGI I have ever seen. its so choppy and even more noticeable when you slow it down to half speed, you can see a moment where his shoulder just doesn't move right. it honestly looks like a more polished ufc game.
Garbage the only thing that’s garbage is the same generation of kids talking smack about nothing to be relevant. I mean this with the most respect but you can’t compare the 2 it’s just a name rebrand for sure you literally can’t compare take the movies for what they are action packed with good laughs. The first movie was bomb with some of those fight scenes and that’s what I think they were going for. So just stop tryna compare the two and enjoy. Haters these days do anything for a view or clout.
I don't think it was terrible, it was enjoyable. But it definitely doesn't compare to the original. The story has no wade garrett, it has no emmett, it has no doc. And the fight scenes were overly ridiculous, the original had realistic martial arts style fight scenes between the two characters.
The Crock.... I mean Rock, is the highest paid "actor" to never have had to act!! He literally just spends every movie being the Rock. I don't even consider what he does movies BECAUSE he doesn't do a lick of acting. For him it's more like very long form RUclips videos rather than a movie. I thought he'd be about the worst actor I'd ever see.... Silly me!!! A long come Conner McGregor to grab the title. 😂 And it's not even close!
I "watched" or should I say tolerated this movie last night (and not even all the way through) after I told my wife, who had never seen the Swayze Roadhouse what a fun concept this was. Was I embarrassed. Luckily it was free to watch so I guess I didn't waste any money. Gyllenhaal is such a talented actor and this was not a testament to his acting career. He had big shoes to fill with Swayze. He did NOT deliver. His acting was meh (which is a surprise). The plot...come on some Tiki looking bar in the keys was The Roadhouse?? WRONG! The Roadhouse is a dive bar. The whole Tiki vibe reminded me that I was on vacation. To add the bad ass biker type bar to that establishment was the first BIG mistake. The bad guy was a fool. He looked like some hipster type dude who already shows his stupidity in the first scene we meet him by getting a straight razor shave on a boat in choppy water. Complete fool off the bat. Not a psycho....a fool. It REALLY went downhill with McGregor. That man couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. I couldn't understand him half the time. Luckily my wife and I fell asleep halfway in. Going to have to pull up Swayze, Sam Elliot to redeem myself. Sorry Patrick. They did you wrong.
It wasn't all that off the mark from the way things were at the time it was made, that story was actually plausible. Every day in the news you would see massive drug busts in the news, cartels owned businesses that they were using to smuggle in drugs, there were stories about it in the news. The arch types that were depicted in the movie actually existed. I think it was a cheesy movie, but Patrick Swayze was an actual martial artist, and other than the throat scene his martial arts were fairly graceful, probably because in addition to the three martial arts forms he studied he was also trained in dancing.
Your review is garbage. The movie was awesome. I watched about 8 times. One of only a few movies I could watch over and over again and never get bored with. . Just because some people don't like movies like it , doesn't make it a bad movie it even got better reviews than the original
Road House - another classic that didn't need a re-make. Hollyweird movie ideas have obviously all dried up.
I know, they just swapped characters with the sherriff and nurse and there you go....as well as the end "Daddy is still in jail" begs for a sequel.

I'm just upset that they couldn't leave Patrick Swayze in peace. Always gotta remake classics and somehow make them absolute ass.

Not for clout, this shit is ass and all the lines in the movie try so hard to sound badass while c9ming off as cheesy

The real reward was getting to see Connor McGregor's cheeks. (I've never watched UFC)
The only value this movie has
