I like how this game is like a Fist of the North Star Apocalypse, but it's also so bright and cheerful. It's like the apocalypse is just something that happened and no one cares.
i would say they are in detroit than fist of the north star
lol just listen to the bgm. this is like fist of the north star if it was an american saturday morning cartoon in the late 80s - early 90s
illuminatioracle you are totally fucking right
You do have a point. Wade for instance is kinda like a blonde-haired pretty boy version of Kenshiro.
and the fighting is done to a mostly Prince-like Pop Funk.
The best things in this game? The music!
Lol they played the music you would turn up to at a prom back in the day
It would not surprise me if this was a source of inspiration for God Hand (the game itself or just the music)
Stage 3's music is my personal fave!
I recommend the Einhänder soundtrack from the same composer - great stuff!
@@Marcusml333 Iron Bound?
Whoever composed the soundtrack for this game never left 1982.
on the vocal tracks yeah def. on the other half of the songs they sound like konami music from this era should
Overall, this has to be one of the absolute best arcade beat em' ups. I do think Sledge has got to be one of the best bosses in it. He's like a hybrid between Batman and a Ninja Turtle, and it works just so amazingly well.
I really love this game’s unique 90s post apocalyptic city with all these crazy enemies and music. This needs to be ported in modern consoles.
This beat-em-up game has a totally different vibe compared to the others I've played. Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Captain Commando, ect. all had a tough, gritty, and overall darker feel to them, while this game seems more lighthearted.
kiko485 Hell, if I thought beat em ups were that high minded at the time, I'd say it was downright satirical of the genre that Capcom helped solidify.
this game also reminds me of the Vendetta fighting game which was made by the same company (Konami). there's another street basketball video game from Konami that I have played a lot in the 90s so funny and with cool sounds. way ahead of its time. And it never happened to get a console port unfortunately. it was made even before Street Hoop from SNK-DATA EAST.
and homoerotic yeee
TONYskittlezzz Konami didn't make Violent Storm, it was Capcom.
@@MarquisLeary34 Hope you were just joking; as this game was clearly made by Konami, as stated on the title screen. The music is typical Konami, also!
Smashing a flowerpot over the dude's face while he's sleeping on the bench might be one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
lmao
That had me rolling
Crazy awesome game. Put in a dash of a few other beat em ups, and you got this crazy severely 80's-ish Final Fight game. Very fun gameplay and some wonderful, bright colors.
I would love to own this game.
Great playthrough!
1:50 that's EXACTLY how my father woke me up when there's exam back at the highschool
Wake up dead.
manliest alarm clock ever
Well, I guess you can't say it didn't work!
I always enjoyed playing this arcade game, when I was a kid while I was in the vacations.
BoggyTheWorm Me too in the vacations haha :D
+BoggyTheWorm You were a kid during vacations? Must have been a strange childhood Boggy.
+Explod pausemovetime JUST during the vacations. ...lol :)!
I appologize for my bad english. I mean when I was a kid, I was playing it only while the vacations.
BoggyTheWorm Telekomunikacja Huje
One of the best BUPS in history with interesting post apocalyptic rocker background. Also propably one of the hardest. The grand finale of fantastic Crime Fighters trilogy.
How is this related to crime fighters?
@@marccaselle8108 It's the third entry in the series.
I didn't know it was part of the crime fighters trilogy. In the arcades I saw crime fighters, and crime fighters 2/vendetta but I never saw the third game.
I'm trying to figure out , where in the hell did that chick find groceries in that abandoned city they were in.
Really good question
By the way, her name's Sheena. You can hear it in the music on the "Down Town" stage.
@@Wright805 *"FLEEL MY POWER!"*
According to Wikipedia, this game takes place after WW3
Don’t ask why it’s the only source I could find for this game’s plot
Aff. 20 years to understand:
- May I see your ticket?
The same here.. 😅😅😅
lol good ol' ASS in the initials. Those were the days. Can't do that with today's games.
You couldn't do it in games made just a couple years later
@Metal04-OFFICIAL A lot of "modern" video games (keeping in mind that arcades in America are almost gone unless you count Dave & Buster's, so "modern" means "1995-2005") are programmed so that if you enter your initials as ASS, SEX, FUK, or a couple other combinations, it randomly replaces them with the initials of one of the game designers, or just "AAA". It's not a "censorship device", it's just the way the games are programmed.
Why did Blanka kidnapped the girl?
he thought he finally found his mommy. lol :)!
Got tired to hear "Sorry, not interested", "Not, even if you were the last man on Earth" and "Keep walkin', f*ckface".
On the plus side he seems to have lost some weight
@@hallowen Too much weight! Dude looks like he's on Chemo.
The nineties - back when roast chicken came in a red oil drum.
I love how similar this game is to final fight. it's so cool seeing how wade's attack moves make him a cool rip off of Guy.
I also notice that the music during the battle against Drigger is similar to Shredder's theme from Turtles In Time.
mainly because this game was made by none other than the exact same company, KONAMI.
This, Alien vs. Predator, and Battle Circuit are some of the best beat 'em ups ever.
This game is hilarious! The graphics are pretty nice and the music is crazy fun. I also love the "Wade!" ~hair comb~ thing haha This is great thanks for sharing.
Boris was such a boss!
mechanically and thematically, this is by far my favourite beat em up. and the music! so good.
I remember a little corner store in my hometown in Poland had this arcade game there for a few months. One day I took 20$ worth of coins and finally beat it with a buddy. LoL good times!
Such memorable game back in "tude" era when it was radical
This storm is indeed violent
Wow I remember playing this arcade way back when. Never made it past second level.
This game always looked so awesome. I wish Konami re-release this game because I really want to play it.
Sadly knowing Konami they probably won’t
This game is awesome,it needs to be release for download and remade with todays visuals.
I love Final Fight (Played it to death in the arcades back in time and in emulation), I love Streets of Rage, great game as well, other similar and popular Beat em ups like Cadillac and Dinosaurs, Punisher, Alien vs Predator, TMNT and the list goes on are awesome. But seriously guys, at least to me, Violent Storm (which I discovered its existence only a few years ago) I think that is the king of them all! Mainly because it takes all the good points of all the other beat-em ups and rises them up in heavens!
Nailed it.
amazing retro game with super soundtracks
The music's amazing in this. Damn.
Developed by Konami in Japan.
Awesome fucking game... That I only discovered due to emulation. I don't care what anyone says, if it wasn't for emulation, some of the most incredible games ever made would remain hidden from the public.
This was my favorite arcade game!
Best rap music I've all day haha. Like to see this on Xbox Live.
This game is a gift to the humankind
I like Final Fight, but back in the days, me & friend still prefer played this game...
You gotta love a game that does a knock of "Shakedown" from Beverly Hills Cop 2 for the first stage
I have a moustache. I can already feel it growing and getting stronger listening to that song.
This looks REALLY fun! Man, I wish I could find this in an arcade somewhere....
And I just wish I could find an arcade somewhere. ;)
Unfortunately, in America, most "true" arcades struggle to keep the doors open. They're just not profitable the way they used to be, unless you have at least a few "redemption" games (the ones that give you tickets that you can trade for mostly worthless prizes), or have something to offer other than just arcade games (like Dave & Busters, which is also a bar and a restaurant... and that's where most of their profits come from, not the arcade games.)
I downloaded it and play it on a MAME emulator. Fun stuff!
Gracias, por fin encuentro el académico que tanto jugaba y veía de niño. Mucha nostalgia de verlo nuevamente. Saludos
Level 1 lyrics: "Who be the heroes? Oooooooo wow! Keep the madness! We know a power home to you. Wake up, wake up fighting!"
dayum what an awesome Final Fight ripoff the quality is top notch
Cara que prazer rever esse jogo depois de tanto tempo! Lembrou meu vício de infância! Haja ficha pra continuar jogando até o fim hahahahah
The enemy wearing a karategi is called Ryuken... Wow..haha.
needs rerelease on Steam, PSN Store and XBL Marketplace... NOW!!!!
EPIC LYRICS:
I'm gonna get you eventually,
everybody wanna knock Geldo down
I'll go straight to Sheena (Sheena)
and I'll be there, yes I will
This world is very difficult,
but I've got nothing to lose now
There's no defeat, you'd sooner die
Challenge the beginning of the end
Until I rescue Sheena,
I'm never gonna stop (flee my power)
Now I spend my time fighting all around
I'm a tough guy (do it, man)
You think you can beat us,
We got the look, oh so fine
Just wait, I'll get even with you!
TAKE IT ALL!
The reason why the pigs are turning into footballs, I guess because Konami had problems with PETA. In the ROM you can actually find the graphics of pigs being picked up.
+Sledgex3 That's crazy, I never noticed that.
PETA in 1993??
@@dajmos6969 Why does that surprise you? They have been around since 1980.
I feel emulation has a place when it's used for games that are either no longer in print or incredibly rare. It's sad that companies try to stop people from playing a game they no longer market, and make profit from.
damm I finish that game so many times and I still love it
The music in the first level made me a man.
Fun Fact: You can hear a bit of Gradius music in the first boss theme.
Easily the oddest music for any beat em up I've ever heard.
I miss that early 90s arcade rock pop music great times
27:47 The only missing is to have Sledge explode from a sewer manhole! 🐢😛
Mad Max universe with fun music
thanks , after 15 years , I get to see the end and with sounds . The Arcade I played this game didn't have sound enabled
Konami was godly at the beat'em up making business, both with original titles and cartoon licenses. It's sad to think they havent considered sequels for their original titles in over 20 years, everything they do now is Metal Gears.
Yeah all those Silent Hill, Castlevania, and DDR games are all so Metal Gear. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Shane Bales
Yeah, those have been garbage as of late aswel, thanks for remind me. My point stands.
enker26 One of Konami's beat'em ups I enjoyed playing, was Monster Maulers.
I use to play this game when I was a kid and boy after all them years here I am watching a video of it in 2021
I like how you just stop and listen to the music in the 3rd level
Sledge is one of those Ninja Turtles you get at kids' birthday parties. He calls himself "Samurai Teen" in the ads to prevent issues with Nickelodeon (or Mirage Studios at the time of the game's release).
So...this was Konami's answer to Final Fight
Much more ruthless than Final Fight. That boss Doyle was ridiculous.
This game was a lot of fun playing. It's a lot longer game than a lot of other arcade games. As always, arcade games are expected to be short.
Oh god, everything ABOUT this game just practically screams the 90s. If this was released today everybody would go "He hit a woman so TRIGGERED!! BAN THIS GAME!!"
What?! Activision actually went out of their way to include female enemies in their CoD games. Back in the 90s people got way more "triggered" by female enemies, that's why Capcom changed all the female enemies in Final Fight to guys or transvestites.
Someone has never seen an MK game.
There is two kind of female enemies in gaming: There is the hot buxom bitches /crack whores you smack down lest they step on your balls and belittle your manhood.
Then there is the enforced diversity quota types that Activistion and EA have been throwing in there to look progressive.
i feel like games like these were VERY inclusive and forward thinking; you had men and women (often of different colors) all working together to cause mayhem and violence. in the end , it was about stopping them because they were causing problems; to hell with their gender or ethnicity; they're harming innocent people.
at least thats what i took away from it. games like mortal kombat too; men and women were chosen to fight for their realms and no one cared what geneder they were. they were all great characters
This is probably the most 80s thing you will ever see.
Except it came out in the nineties.
Masterpiece game.
He may not know, ←↘+Jump combianation
You can totally tell it's the same team who did Vendetta, while Vendetta looked & sounded nothing like Crime Fighters.
they need to put this game in the playstation store so I can buy it
You can play any arcade game you want with MAME emulator and the best part is it's completely free.
yeah I know but I'd like to have a controller when I play my games can you buy a controller for your PC?
kapone815
Of course you can! I got the Logitech Rumblepad 2 and it feels comparable to a PS3 controller. I connect my laptop to my HD big screen TV via HDMI and play arcade games, NES, Sega Master System, Genesis, Super NES, N64. Literally thousands. All free!
thanks!!
agentblammo I love my arcades so much I'd buy the original arcade PCB. I think I could also use it legally to make money if I wanted to pop it in a cabinet. :D
Konami's answer to Final Fight.
I hope the Wiiware Virtual Console gets this game. Virtual Console Arcade might get more hits with this. But they'd also get more hits with Ninja Baseball Batman too.
I cannot overstate my props to any LP that uses ALL characters in a playthrough.
The Boss opponents are impressing. I like Geld's laughter (the final Boss) when he has defeated you.
Stage 3;s music is indeed awesome!
17:38 he has a power loader O_o
So both sides are fighting for the last hot damsel around. I guess that makes sense.
LOLLYPOP! i thought i'd never see you again, my flabby friend.
I used to play this game at an arcade in Quetta, Pakistan many many years ago. Back then I didn't realized how awesome the bg music is. I was only interested in the gameplay.
10:32 Konami found a way to stick in stripper girls in their games, from _The Simpsons_ to _SunsetRiders_ to *THIS!* 😍
Greeaaat Konami.. and the songs remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, classsic arcade (MegaDrive & SNES) from then too
I found it hysterical the paintings in the museum stage were of enemies from the game.
So this is what happened when Fist of the North Star met Final Fight..
Saw this game in top beat'em up's video. Could not believe I never heard of it until recently. It has Saturday Morning Cartoon written all over it and I'm surprised it didn't get one lol.
An usual starting point of the whole story. Girl is kidnapped!
Looks awesome fun.
Put on the nintendo switch.
7:52 to 8:23, groovy lyrics. data east's street hoop on neo geo still rules though.
Poor Nakagawa guy, always getting blown away
The first stage music sounds like something from Huey Lewis and the News.
- the good guy fights the bad guys
- saves the girl
- they all leave together by car (1 girl 3 guys) heading nowhere at the sunset
- ???
- the end
27:00 look at that fool
I definitely appreciate watching a good beat-em-up, but the gameplay just seemed a bit lackluster. I still watched it all. Cool to see all the characters on the other hand.
It's not. Arcade only.
Wade and sheena remind me of how my parents met.
Probably the only non Capcom beat em up to play exactly like one...
So cool in everything.
so glad i clicked on this😎😃
Questo gioco meraviglioso
27:47 - KAWABANGA! amirite!
Boris = Duke Nukem with Orange hair
I remember playing this game back in the day when it was called Final Fight. :P
