I'll clarify there are TWO special moves each guy does. One is attack + jump at the same time which drains some of your health as well. The other is down then up+A the "killer move" . I'd always try to get the boss with the "killer move". Props to you for using the killer move in this manner too. I also like how this game had two hidden weapons. And how the Asian version had an extra scene. This was always one of, if not my favorite video game ever.
I always liked playing as the wrestler dude because he could suplex and piledrive enemies. And when I got to any boss, I would try to finish him with the wrestler's special "superman punch" that would decapitate the boss and give me a point bonus after the fight. And in some cases the headless corpse and severed head would be onscreen as the bonus counted down

Great game looks like Capcom either took the Final Fight engine to make this game or the other way around. If you think about it the health indicators and the side scrolling style of this game is almost exactly the same as Final Fight.
I believe this was released on the PSN, but only in Japan from a video I had saw here on RUclips about a month ago. Looks to be the PS1 version, and one we'll not likely see here even though the arcade had an English version, the PS1 and Saturn versions were relegated to Japan only sadly.
From what I recall, they didn't think that US would know/care about Three Kingdoms for whatever reason (or maybe KOEI controlled that market?), so they renamed everyone with Mongolian-sounding names and had a pseudo-Three Kingdoms story to go with it.
In the English adaptation, however, the Three Kingdoms theme was lost, and most names have been changed to names of Mongolian origin. The story takes place in a fictional realm where the evil overlord Akkila-Orkhan (originally Cao Cao) of Shang-Lo tries to conquer his neighbouring countries, converting them into ruin and despair. Kuan-Ti (originally Liu Bei), with the aid of the five great warriors, stands up against the conquering shadow and fights to defend his people and lands

Ah, alien vs predator is a world class game with a plenty more "tools" to hunt down the aliens and it often required the brain of the player as well.
