John Lennon was the most fashionable man in history; he seemed like a bohemian who didn't give a damn what people thought of how he dressed or conducted himself through life. Personally, I think that all styles fit him well, even from the times of Hamburg (teddy boy), of Beatlemania (rebellious and transgressor), time of Sgt. Pepper's (writer, scientist) and in 1969 (ravi style). The man had class.
@@seltaeb3302 I am referring to the imposition of fashion, not whether he was better dressed or not. I don't think Lennon borrowed his beard, sideburns, glasses, tobacco fanny packs, Andalusian hats, and other things from his wife. Lennon imposed fashion, he was extravagant, McCartney not, because he was a normal guy like any other. Peter Brown, Derek Taylor and those who knew him personally would be the first to tell you.

These are some incredible photos! The boys are all high as kites, John and Paul especially, maybe tripping? How cool to be inside the house that day. Fascinating to see Linda in her role as a professional photographer. She and Paul totally clicked and escaped the disco era in Scotland.
I did not realize Linda met Paul early on. According to Paul he saw her across a room at a club when he was out socializing. Funny how you find out otherwise.
It was for the launch of Sgt Pepper & that was the first time they met. Cleverly she got down on her haunches to Paul's chair & being at his feet, Paul wanted a woman to be loyal by his feet & to be at his side looking lovingly up. Jane Asher didn't do this. Independent. Not for Paul. It wasn't love at first as she jetted back home. She came back a year or so later & she wanted Paul & got him by wooing him as being his woman 24/7. And she did. Paul is a complex character full of a need to be family. The Beatles was his second family. When Linda died Paul went wife hunting a year later by Linda's consent I feel as she knew his need for a companion & a double bed for one gets lonely. No snuggles. Then wife 2 arrived then went, then wife 3 arrived..
Linda was there as a professional photographer having been invited by Peter Brown, Brian's assistant, who had seen her portfolio and liked her work. Said later said she sold a color print from this session for $100 and thought she had had it made it! Boy, did she ever.
Ah, the chemistry between Paul & Linda & the looks they are giving each other veritably jump through the screen. Pretty sure after their India trip the next year in '68 both Paul & John wound up their long-term relationships with Jane & Cynthia respectively and moved speedily on to the true love of their lives in Linda & Yoko (both of whom had been waiting in the wings). Both couples were then in March '69 within 8 days of each other - Nice symmetry.
@@seltaeb3302This was not the 1st time they met. The first time was at the Bag o’ Nails Club 4 days prior (May 15, 1967). That was quite a first date.
@Elena - terrific post, thank you! (new subscriber) I was fortunate to come across your fresh post while listening to "I Want To Tell You" (1966) which popped into my head earlier this afternoon while on a walk. You must be a top Beatles fan. I have always been interested in the state of The Beatles just before the death of Brian Epstein (RIP 8/27/67) following the release of Sgt. Peppers (May 1967). I think these unique photos might tell part of the story so they are significant. I want to look at them closely of course to draw my own conclusions however, the ones I have seen so far seem to show The Beatles as being solidly into an arvant-garde which probably took seed starting with "Revolver" (Aug 66). With respect to the death of their manager and its effect on them, there are probably enough credible quotes especially by John Lennon, that suggest this event foresaw an end to The Beatles. Perhaps the Beatles embrace of avant-garde might have contributed to the end as well. Since following this period, "the boys" seemed to fall away from it at different times and in different degrees. Lennon (RIP), its primary proponent, held on the longest before giving way to protest songs and calls for Peace, Not War; Paul McCartney's first solo album (April 70) is anything but avant-garde. Perhaps he was interested or influenced in a more limited way (in a sense of fashion/style only) than his heretofore primary songwriting partner, rather than a way to change his approach to writing/producing songs; George Harrison (RIP), the singer/composer of "I Want To Tell You", we know, found his true spiritual path in India (Feb 68). Food for thought. Nevertheless, in my own notion, the appearance of "I Want To Tell You" along with the 13 other tracks on Revolver, can reasonably be considered as the "high water mark" of the group as a band as well as the jumping off point for the future careers and lives of its individual members. To give some background, I was born in March 1960 and my first moment of sentience came when I heard "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" (US release 12/26/1963) either on the radio or when my parents may have been tuned into the Ed Sullivan (RIP) Shows (Feb 64) like 23 million other households were. Either way, your post inspired the recall of some good memories from way back when! Thank you again. Stay safe everyone...AUG 21 FL USA

Be sure to re-watch this there are duplicates at least for sure John and Paul possibly George. But either way the George in this picture seems to have aged from age 25 to 35 all of a sudden LOL. In these pictures you can see the pug nose Faul as well as the hooknose Faul (Billy) who still plays Paul today. I can’t tell or not if there are different ringos in this.
