I remember, to this day, being in England in 1964 as a 7 yr old child and hearing a song on the radio. It was the first time I ever heard a song on the radio. Not that the radio wasn't playing songs all the time, but this was the first time I actually "heard" a song. I was at my Nan and Grandad's house in Luton, and this song came on. Like nothing I'd ever heard before. At the time I didn't know who did it and even today, I couldn't tell you what song it was. But, it was like fresh air being pumped into that old row house. I heard the music for the first time in my life. And even if I don't remember the song...I will always remember the sound. It was the Beatles. I've been a professional musician now for almost 50 yrs because of that moment. Still playing gigs. Just now in the Texas Hill Country. It's been quite the journey from that day in Luton so very long ago.

To really understand and appreciate The Beatles you have to go back in time to the late 50s early 60s when the production was like a assembly line. Someone wrote the song, someone else sang the song, someone else played the music. Beatles came along and did it all, and did it better. Wrote , sang, , played, with their own unique sound and look. The originators of Rock n Roll. To write a song takes a effort. The Beatles have meant so much to me, "in my life" as they say. They opened my mind as a kid to something beautiful beyond the grey northern English world around me. I remember buying "Please, Please Me", as a little 7 year old kid in Australia and then buying every subsequent Album when it was released. I'd consider they had a big influence in how I see the world and my place in it for which I am grateful.
I watched the Get Back sessions the other day and I was blown away. I've always liked their music but to watch them put the words and music together was amazing.
My dad listened to them when they were about originally, I found his albums in the loft in the eighties and proper fell in love in my teens, my daughter played my CDs as a kid but has again fell in love with them in her teens. I can't wait to watch with her, sadly my old man missed out by a few years.
It's interesting, what's mentioned at about 06:00, how Billy Preston's presence improved the mood, and cheered everyone up. I think the main reason for that was that Preston was a "guest" and the guys were conscious of it and were careful to behave themselves. When it was just the four of them (and George Martin and whatever technicians were there), it was more like it was just "the family" and they were less inhibited whenever they got annoyed or lost their tempers. And by this time, they had been together so long, and stored up enough resentments with each other, and their creative differences were getting strong enough that when they didn't have a guest present to motivate them to be on their best behavior, they _could_ get downright nasty to each other and make each other really angry. It was quite literally a case of familiarity breeding contempt. But people mind their manners better around guests and strangers. Preston's presence, I think, motivated them all to hold that back a bit, and almost certainly kept them from getting under each others' skin, and thus the old friendship and camaraderie reemerged and let them have fun working on this while they were minding their manners.
That makes sense doesn’t it? Since at the time it was reported that they weren’t getting along and the original get back documentary highlighted all that tension?
The legacy the Beatles left is simply so huge and so monolithic it almost defies description. Their presence in the world is of historic proportions, and they are not likely to be completely forgotten in 100 years from now or even 200. The fact that people still retain such a strong interest in the Beatles and their music more than 50 years after the band broke up, is proof of the indelible mark it left on the world.
Four lads, talented musicians, genius's with instruments. Impacting the entire world forever. Beautiful!!! 🎶🎸🎹✌️🤟 How many lives were and continue to be touched by the Beatles. We will never know 👍☮️
My son and I had the pleasure of visiting Abbey Road Studios in August, 2018 for a lecture in Studio Two (!) about the magic that lives there. There are no feelings to compare with the ones of walking into the enormous room or walking up the stairs to the control room and I will never forget watching as my son played the final chord of "A Day In The Life" on one the four pianos used (the "Mrs. Mills" piano), the one played by Paul and Ringo. The lanyard I was given at the start of the tour will always hang by my bedside and I sometimes kiss it goodnight. It was a honor and a privilege and if you ever get the chance (they offer the lecture from time to time), GO! Your life will be complete.
I get it! believe Studio 2 is Holy Ground. They opened it up twice this year in August and now November (don't quote me), but no pics were allowed. I hope they'll do it again in 2022. I plan to be there.
@@TampaDave Yep correct, England, most of the top bands at the time were emerging from Liverpool...Love me do was released in 62, America got it in 64.
A few people in 1963 were prescient regarding the Beatles' legacy. There were fads aplenty, like the '50s hula hoop, with a short shelf life, but, here it is, sixty-one years from the original formation of the group, and their personalities and music still captivate the world.
Whenever I want to hold my daughters hand crossing the street or whatever I start singing I want to hold your hand. She always smiles and grabs my hand and takes up the tune. Yes, the Beatles are timeless
Love em or hate em, you can’t deny the greatness the Beatles brought to the world. It’s funny because people old and young know who they are in someway or another
So excited to see this precious footage, it’s a good time to be a Beatles fan, and I’ve been one since I was playing their 45s on my Fischer price kids record player, as a 1985 baby so I grew up with my parents excellent record collection and have camcorder video of me playing along to their music on my lil Mickey Mouse drum set. The music of the Beatles is deep within my being, like nursery rhymes of the rock era. The music and legacy will live on forever.
I enjoy these tour videos of places where historic events took place, seeing footage of what the place looked like then and now. I found it kind of eerie seeing the empty interior of Twickenham Film Studios today. It is a larger space than I previously imagined and the Beatles were there in their last year together.
Timeless? Without a doubt. Not just because the songs stand the test of time but I think more importantly their music lives on in the music that subsequent generations of musicians play who continue to be so influenced by them. They are reborn again and again.
Great to see that lovely family there at the end on the zebra crossing, that is what the beatle's are all about passing on the message of love and unity.Enjoy everybody :)

I’m grateful that my dad brought me up around old school music. I introduced myself to the Beatles but I wouldn’t have loved old songs without him❤️
The Beatles are timeless.
Amazing,...their music will never get old. Cannot wait to see the new videos.
I remember buying "Please, Please Me", as a little 7 year old kid in Australia and then buying every subsequent Album when it was released. I'd consider they had a big influence in how I see the world and my place in it for which I am grateful.
someone in australia was smart enough to release obla-di-obla-da as a single in australia, knowing it would go to number 1, which it did
I watched the Get Back sessions the other day and I was blown away. I've always liked their music but to watch them put the words and music together was amazing.
Thank you Peter Jackson for your work on this amazing last live performance, and how it all came together!
My dad listened to them when they were about originally, I found his albums in the loft in the eighties and proper fell in love in my teens, my daughter played my CDs as a kid but has again fell in love with them in her teens. I can't wait to watch with her, sadly my old man missed out by a few years.
Beatles forever!
I love the Beatles!
50 years later... unbelievable!!!
OK Boomer.
Cool story bro
That makes sense doesn’t it? Since at the time it was reported that they weren’t getting along and the original get back documentary highlighted all that tension?
Perhaps, Mate. Peace, Rocky
Or Billy Preston is such a happy, smiling character it puts people in a good mood
We will never know 👍☮️
That transition from him walking and then cutting to Paul walking in the door was so cool 4:40
I saw them in concert Dodger Stadium 1966 something I'll never forget. I have all their albums on vinyl.🇫🇷💙🏃. Arnuad Bourbon Amaral
IN short, the 1960's were a pivotal time in the history of music, and the Beatles were front and center, leading it all.
The Beatles is timelessness itself
Im the one died hard fans of the Beatles. When i was young at the age of 14 up to now im 71 Beatles Forever
Soundtrack to my life certainly...from 1962 until now and I've never faltered .
You have to be in Europe. We didn't hear of them in the US until 1964. At least, very few people had heard of them in this country.
@@TampaDave Yep correct, England, most of the top bands at the time were emerging from Liverpool...Love me do was released in 62, America got it in 64.
The Beatles were outstanding gentlemen who wrote beautiful songs about love.
u4true ... John once said all their songs were abt love.
It's been a great year for us beatles fans
Thanks for this, I watched the three episodes back to back yesterday. Best day ever. I will always love this music, it's in my heart.
Brilliant pioneers who transformed pop music and who will always inspire current and future generations.
In 1964 Ed Sullivan said “Ladies and Gentlemen…………. The Beatles!”. I was nine and I was hooked, for life!
.
A few people in 1963 were prescient regarding the Beatles' legacy. There were fads aplenty, like the '50s hula hoop, with a short shelf life, but, here it is, sixty-one years from the original formation of the group, and their personalities and music still captivate the world.
Im 17 now and have been listening to the Beatles since I was born, love them.
EXCELLENT ENDING!
Best band ever in the best era ever for music.
Nothing by any group compares or equals the Beatles.
It’s funny because people old and young know who they are in someway or another
Can see it as long as i can....Beatles 4ever!
I discovered the Beatles from my parents record collection too. Good times.
Shocked.....................and stunned.
This music is amazing at 2021
It's so pleasing being with people who knows the beatles and listen to them ❤🥀🍂
I enjoy these tour videos of places where historic events took place, seeing footage of what the place looked like then and now. I found it kind of eerie seeing the empty interior of Twickenham Film Studios today. It is a larger space than I previously imagined and the Beatles were there in their last year together.
Many of the Beatles’ songs had messages that still have meaning to this day. I was a fan back then, and I still am to this day!!
Timeless? Without a doubt. Not just because the songs stand the test of time but I think more importantly their music lives on in the music that subsequent generations of musicians play who continue to be so influenced by them. They are reborn again and again.
There is something really beautiful about this video.
Great to see that lovely family there at the end on the zebra crossing, that is what the beatle's are all about passing on the message of love and unity.Enjoy everybody :)
For a thousand years, there will never be another group like The Beatles.
I feel Paul's voice was never recorded better than it was in "Get Back".
I've been listening to the Beatles since I was about 6 or 7. I am very much excited for this film as I assume everyone els is !
