  • A little ditty from Fletcher Hodges, Club Curator, at The Adventurers Club at Pleasure Island in Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL., USA. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

It also wasn’t 1937, and his name wasn’t really Fletcher Hodges! Most of the songs in the show were cover songs, and none of the original sources were given credit. If NPR guy had a problem, he could have had Disney pull the song. Disney probably got permission to use the song in the first place.

Should have just give Donohue credit, decent cover

Pat Donohoe wrote the parody of the famous Sukiyaki song. The only problem I have with this guy is that when he introduces the song, he says he wrote it.

It's not the actor taking credit but either his character doing it or in the fictional AC universe, he really wrote it.

Nice version, but I think Pat Donohue (guitarist on Garrison Kiellor's "Prairie Home Companion") wrote this song. Disney World allows this guy to say he wrote it?

Actually, this song was originally sung in Japanese called "Ue wo muite arukou(I look up as I walk)" written by Rokusuki Ei and Hachidai Nakamura sang by Kyu Sakamoto. This song is also known as Sukiyaki.

The real title of this version is "Sushi-Yucky".

Something cool and fun to do: Memorize the first, last, and one of the middle verses. Play Wii Music and do Games> Handbell Harmony> Sukiyaki and sing along!

Your both actually right: Although you shouldn't be so anal about an entertaining performance, you also shouldn't steal someone else's material and call it your own. Yes, Pat Donohue did write this.
    Wouldn't that be plagiarism?
Other than that, I did enjoy this, none the less.
