@@suprshin Yeah, I've seen those but sadly don't have my DS anymore. When I did though, I couldn't find them anywhere and they were stupidly expensive because of how rare they were around here. Second-hand stores would buy them in flea markets and re-sell them for eye-watering prices. Still have my orig NES cart for DW4 though. :)
About that while you can't DIE in Dracky/Easy mode nearly EVERY DQ game starting with the 4th game has can't WIN bosses in which you only WIN the fight if the ENTIRE party dies so if those games get a can't DIE on Dracky/Easy mode they need to work around that DQ7 also has like 3 can't win boss fights.
In the Antarctica area metal slime farming location don't go where David said, there's an island just north of here that has the same spawn rate, but has a place you can teleport to once you enter of course, so if you need heeling and tour mp is gone and want to go back you can.

Been playing this game since it came in last Friday, I just got my ship today, my party ranges from level 29-31 and I am trying to get 3 of them up to level 48 before the class change because I can be a glutton for punishment plus I can be a little OCD about keeping my party members as close as possible with their levels. I found a awesome hack/tip for grinding in the dark world from the island near Galen's house, Once on the island use holy water, (Wards off weaker enemies consumed upon use) Then Have a Gadabout in your party, Use her Ability "Whistle" which is her first ability to get, so like level 5 or something. ( Attracts the attention of nearby enemies) It cost 0 MP and it immediately throws you into battle, Because the holy water is holding off weaker enemies, 9/10 times you get liquid metal slimes or metal slimes!!!!

Using the Puff! spell that turned you into a dragon did lethal damage to metal slimes in past iterations of Dragon Quest. I have the games on my Switch, the older versions and not the HD-2D version. On the fence on whether or not to double dip.
@@rivlasdezeraiit's worth it. If you have leveled up your character with it properly, it will be somewhat effective. I took my level 40 mage and changed her class into an Martial Artist. She's now level 36 and I have managed to kill two in the Maw of the Necrogond. She also has the vamp (sexy) personality too. Her agility is over 300!
Only problem is Luquid Metals are still a bit rare at that Dark World island. It is a good spot for when you first get to the Dark World tho. The Post Game dungeon where you can fight 3 King Hydras is actually the best spot for the Post Game.
Baramos' Lair is by far THE best place I've found to grind in the game. Up to three LMS show up at a time, at least one is likely to stick around (they're less likely to flee in Draconian Mode), and you can minmax all of your classes in a decent amount of time, especially once you get Critical Claim with someone.
I've been frequently grinding on the first liquid metal slime as well as the one by the Teleportal Shrine, I have fought 7 or 8 but only managed to kill 2 and one that ran left Elevating Shoes for my Thief to snatch which is alone a very valuable find, but it's getting to the point where I get more experience out of grinding on metal slimes at the top of the Tower of Transcendence. I will try it again when my party hits 40, as they should be tough enough to handle the other enemies in the liquid metal slime hunting grounds. All it takes is for those Battering Rams to put my heaviest hitters to sleep or the witch doctor enemies to use that instant kill spell and I can wind up with anywhere from one to all of my party members dead.
Nothing like the first time you encounter these guys in a fresh playthrough. I love that this version has many of the modern ways to deal with them, like critical claim!
Another good video. Thanks for the tip of winning the boomerang that guarantees hits on metal slime monsters. Another tip I learn on a site for Monster Arenas (where you get the boomerang), change the difficulty to Dracky to not have a hard time winning battles. Although not sure it 100% works for the U.S. and/or Europe since the player for the guide played the original Japanese version of the game, that could have changed for the English versions.

I will say that using whistle 5:37 works really well to attempt to increase your encounter rate if the encounter isn't what you want flee and then just whistle again

In my own personal opinion the best spot for late game/ post game grinding is Talontar Tunnel. I mean you don't get to use spells but you can still use abilities and items. It's risky but worth it. Also abilities work in Talontar Tunnel but nit spells with are nullified also enime spells are nullifed so the problem of having to deal with enemy that do spells like Zing, Blasto and Frizz are a none issue. But enemies can still use abilities like wildfire and roaring breath. The sage stone is very useful in this area and chimera wings do not work either.
I use the cave just south of the Elf / Fairy village that put that other town to sleep to level early before slimes. Go in with a couple boomerangs at lvl 10-11 and just run circles around the thing you can step on that restores hp and mp to full.
The forested strips of land just west of Persistence have metal slimes and metal babbles. I’ve found the monster wrangler’s Monster Pile-On ability to be very helpful. Especially because a lot of metal slimes will run, and the pile-on will then double down on those that are left. Thief’s hypno-whip ability is also great against large groups of metal slimes, since it will group-hit and has a chance of confusion, preventing slimes from fleeing and sometimes making them attack each other. What’s funnoying is that the first five metal babbles I fought didn’t run right away and I got very close to killing some. Then I got the bright idea to equip poison needle and use assassin’s stab and Every. Single. Metal. Babble. has immediately run from me since then. That’s five non-runners in a row followed by ten runners in a row.
I remember metal babble farming: turning a sage into a dragon, hasting the dragon and hoping the dragon gets an attack off before the metal babbles all scatter.
Thanks for the last part, I was wondering if there are "slime hills" in the dark world. Been running around at Z's castle entrance for a chance to encounter the metabbles.
I've been finding that metal monsters are too unpredictable in this game. They run away too often, and on those islands they are intermixed with trash monsters. After a while, the volcano area of the first postgame dungeon works better for me. The King Hydras give more XP per kill and don't run away. They are harder to take down though, so they depend on having a build that can dish out a lot of melee damage, and can resist the sleep and fear effects. You need some good melee damage output to defeat Xenlon quickly anyway. Also, there are liquid metal slimes in the area.
I already had SOME grinding knowledge, but you definitely game me some good tips I didn't know! Any recommendations for beating the monster arena? I'm one or two ranks away and I keep getting finished off 😞. Could be a good video idea if you weren't already planning on it 👀👀👀
Not the greatest but on level 3 of maw of the necrogond has a healing station that fully heals your health and magic . There's also a chance to run into a battle with three liquid metal slimes . Puff seems to work well too so far it seems to ignore liquid metal slimes defense because the dragons flame always kills them instantly .
Hey dude do you do any full walkthroughs anymore? I discovered your channel by looking up a Wild Arms 2 walkthrough and I really liked the one you did.
You can actually do a guaranteed one shot in 2 turns of ALL metal slimes. I figured this out just from my Sage's AI doing this. If you cast Puff! it turns you into a dragon that first turn, then the next turn you'll automatically use an AOE flame move that seems to ignore defense. It is doing well over 150 damage consistently and hits 100% of the time for me.
That was on the original dw3 game it was called "bedragon" the spell and it worked the exact same way. I was literally doing this 30+ years ago it's cool how they seemed to include all that was in the original plus alot more
Someone else's video: Near Cantlin. Enemy group of 7 mud hands. Always calls another. Easy to kill. Don't kill all 7. Don't have to move again to reactivate a new group. Jus keep pressing A on the follow orders command. Defend if u think ur group will kill the current stack so they will call for help. In about 15 mins I can net about 30k exp. If I mindlessly do it during the day while doing other tasks I can pull 100+ exp. Needs to be on draky quest difficulty so they don't kill ur team. Great alternative if u don't have the metal killing weapons.
I hear the merchants dig ability has a good chance to get seeds on slime hill. The topic debated on it possibly being based on the luck stat or what you get draws from the drop list for monsters in the area.
Don't try to go to any place too early you WILL die. If you're struggling grind some improve some equipment and go back couple levels later you'd be amazed how much different a few small changes make
@midnight347 no no, i know I can't go there yet and im taking my time to grind my characters i just was saying i know where to farm when i reach that part of the story
The only issue I've been having with farming my experience points is that the liquid metals will hit you once and bounce. I find it much faster just fighting big monsters quickly and getting my experience points that way.
I'm level 99 because I'd done a solo run, so I was already like level 87 by the time I beat zoma, but the end game area kicked my behind and I beat the dragon in over 200 turns, so now I'm trying to quickly level my party I just made
With the assassin's dagger and poison needle, will they proc while using abilities? E.g multifists or monster pile-on. Or only using standard attacks? Thanks David
I would love to conquer the monster arena, but I still don't know which monsters to use yet! I have them all but trying to figure out which one goes with which team is a bit of a chore.
I'm at the second island east of Galen's house but not really getting liquid metal slimes or metal slimes consistently at all... Maybe every 10 battle encounters one or 2 will appear 😢
How frequently do liquid metal slimes show up ? I'll be farming a lot because there's an achievement for learning every spell in the game . I do have the ship so I'll definitely head there later tonight
Same here. Very smart way to go about it. If you still have trouble go up a level or 2 it makes all the difference. I was having trouble with the pyramid boss on level 14 hardest difficulty. I went back 2 levels later after buying a slightly better weapon for my hero and soldier (only about 5 atack power better) and I was amazed how much less difficult it was when I went back. Don't underestimate what a couple levels and slightly better equipment does
So BeDragon (or whatever it's called here) doesn't work on metal slimes? It's an instant kill on all metal types in 1 attack. It's how I level maxed every character on gbc version...
Other abilities that can help with the grind, but unfortunately will take a little bit of a grind to get to: 1. Metal Slash - 39 and Sword Dance - 37, Warrior 2. Puff! - 34, Sage 3. Assassins Stab - 16, Thief Martial Artists learn Hawkeye Claw at 13, Multifists at 38, and Critical Claim at 64 (!!!)

You can also battle the Muddy Hands. It's slow but consistent. You get around 200k exp per hour.
In the post game there's an area in one of the bonus dungeons where you can fight triple king hydras for the same amount

It's too recent to have a remake that's a "modern" game imo. They're gonna remake the first 3 it's already been announced 1 and 2 are coming

That STILL WORKS but is learnable 4 levels higher at lv 37 to 38 instead of level 34 to 35.

Not the greatest but on level 3 of maw of the necrogond has a healing station that fully heals your health and magic . There's also a chance to run into a battle with three liquid metal slimes . Puff seems to work well too so far it seems to ignore liquid metal slimes defense because the dragons flame always kills them instantly .
Hey dude do you do any full walkthroughs anymore? I discovered your channel by looking up a Wild Arms 2 walkthrough and I really liked the one you did.
You can actually do a guaranteed one shot in 2 turns of ALL metal slimes. I figured this out just from my Sage's AI doing this. If you cast Puff! it turns you into a dragon that first turn, then the next turn you'll automatically use an AOE flame move that seems to ignore defense. It is doing well over 150 damage consistently and hits 100% of the time for me.
That was on the original dw3 game it was called "bedragon" the spell and it worked the exact same way. I was literally doing this 30+ years ago it's cool how they seemed to include all that was in the original plus alot more

Near Cantlin. Enemy group of 7 mud hands. Always calls another. Easy to kill. Don't kill all 7. Don't have to move again to reactivate a new group. Jus keep pressing A on the follow orders command. Defend if u think ur group will kill the current stack so they will call for help. In about 15 mins I can net about 30k exp. If I mindlessly do it during the day while doing other tasks I can pull 100+ exp. Needs to be on draky quest difficulty so they don't kill ur team.
Great alternative if u don't have the metal killing weapons.

I hear the merchants dig ability has a good chance to get seeds on slime hill. The topic debated on it possibly being based on the luck stat or what you get draws from the drop list for monsters in the area.

Don't try to go to any place too early you WILL die. If you're struggling grind some improve some equipment and go back couple levels later you'd be amazed how much different a few small changes make
@midnight347 no no, i know I can't go there yet and im taking my time to grind my characters i just was saying i know where to farm when i reach that part of the story
The only issue I've been having with farming my experience points is that the liquid metals will hit you once and bounce. I find it much faster just fighting big monsters quickly and getting my experience points that way.
I'm level 99 because I'd done a solo run, so I was already like level 87 by the time I beat zoma, but the end game area kicked my behind and I beat the dragon in over 200 turns, so now I'm trying to quickly level my party I just made
I used to control the mud hands mob kills, it keep them spawning more and more mobs. Easily killing, just time consuming if nothing else to do.

Of course, Metal Slime mass murder has ALWAYS been the way to get tons of EXP, even since the first game back in the 80's. :)
I actually never use the Poison Needles in this version now that we have the Assassin Stab ability.

Which is the best classes setup and party do you recommend for a smooth and easy gameplay?
With the assassin's dagger and poison needle, will they proc while using abilities? E.g multifists or monster pile-on. Or only using standard attacks?

I would love to conquer the monster arena, but I still don't know which monsters to use yet! I have them all but trying to figure out which one goes with which team is a bit of a chore.

I'm at the second island east of Galen's house but not really getting liquid metal slimes or metal slimes consistently at all... Maybe every 10 battle encounters one or 2 will appear 😢
How frequently do liquid metal slimes show up ? I'll be farming a lot because there's an achievement for learning every spell in the game . I do have the ship so I'll definitely head there later tonight
My strategy with most DQ games has been to grind till I can afford all the new weapons and armor in an area and then I'm usually good to go.
Same here. Very smart way to go about it. If you still have trouble go up a level or 2 it makes all the difference. I was having trouble with the pyramid boss on level 14 hardest difficulty. I went back 2 levels later after buying a slightly better weapon for my hero and soldier (only about 5 atack power better) and I was amazed how much less difficult it was when I went back. Don't underestimate what a couple levels and slightly better equipment does
So BeDragon (or whatever it's called here) doesn't work on metal slimes? It's an instant kill on all metal types in 1 attack. It's how I level maxed every character on gbc version...

Other abilities that can help with the grind, but unfortunately will take a little bit of a grind to get to:
1. Metal Slash - 39 and Sword Dance - 37, Warrior
2. Puff! - 34, Sage
3. Assassins Stab - 16, Thief
Martial Artists learn Hawkeye Claw at 13, Multifists at 38, and Critical Claim at 64 (!!!)
