Caveman Grows Up.! Great Job on install. Who needs a Step-by-Step.? We can see what you did. I Gotta Get Me a JACKERY.!!! You could even get a Second One if you needed to. I LOVE SIMPLICITY.! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Already have aJackery 1000 to power my fridge .... solar 140W on roof to charge Jackery ...I just ordered a Maxairfan to replace the plain 14x14 vent that has fallen apart ...the solar wires I routed through the vent ...so will run the 12V to Jackery & wire it to cig outlet! ...I figured this out myself ...& stoked to see your install validating my decision! Love your channel & loves to Cruze ...I'm a Boxer lover ....bully breeds with smooshed faces are AWESOME!
Nice job! If anyone else is going to install a new fan that's a great way to do it. Just one thing I would recommend is making a catch from a couple trash bags and letting the metal shavings fall into it. Sure helps to keep them from getting all over the place. Don't forget to caulk all the edges and screws after it's in. I'd recommend boat life caulking it's flexible and obviously really water proof. But as you see if you take a little time and think it through you can do a lot of mod's on your own and know exactly how things are put in and wired up. I'm impressed with the install Chrome! You even made sure the location was kick ass! Now you can do more van life cooking videos 😂 Happy travels! Beeps.
Jackery 440 is on my list of things for my van. Just seems simple to power things off of that instead of having to wire the entire van with things. Plus its MOBILE!!!!!!!! Brilliant!!!!!!!! Ok, Have a great day my friend. 2 Thumbs up! Grind on!
Super informative. This is exactly what I plan to do to my chevy express as I plan for my new vanlife. I love the “keep it simple” plan. My personal thought is “I would rather do things than have things”. But, the Jackery charger and a vent fan are two things I must have!
This video is EXTREMELY useful to me. The whole video. And seeing your roof groove/channels gooped with the sealer told me the only last thing I needed to know too. THANK YOU for sharing this video with us!
Thank you so much for this video! I've looked at so many videos that just show how to install but not how to wire!! Especially if you have a simple setup with the jackery system, so again thank you!!!
LMAO! The warning that you would forget to film some of it, then you made it look like you would not forget, and then "bam!" You jumped to the end, That was so funny. It looked really good and great location.
Haha side of the road install! Awesome! I installed my maxxaire fan in a national forest in California a couple years ago! Pack it in pack it out and it's no big deal.
Thanks Chrome. I never saw anyone show cutting the trim. I think I can do a vent fan. I see you chose the kitchen, makes sense. Pretty funny, the lady running down the road to check you out. Hugs to Disco Bear.
Some young guy alot of his van build in a Home Depot parking lot! Perfe t location since he needed alot and they didnt mind since he was buying so much!
Now that you have a roof vent, you just need solar and you'll have all the things you were "suppose" to have before starting van life. 😄 #sarcasm Cause obvs you have been happily living without a roof vent for awhile, and ended up with a free one by waiting over a year. Taking your channel as an inspiration to continue living happily in my (mini)van and take the chances to upgrade as they come.
High Chrome in Disco got my jackery 240 the other day and I love it I ran my TV for three-plus hours and only use 50% of the battery charge my iPhone and only use 37% I love this thing I'm hoping the solar pad will go on sale soon
Hey there I really appreciate your tutorial because I had no idea how to rig the power. That’s pretty basic for it to just run off my solar inverter generator. Dude many thanks!
AWESOME!! Home Improvement and Cooking with Chrome... Lol.. Way to go Chrome. 😎👌 I'm guessing Disco The Boss is napping?.. Haha😊.. Great video and thanks for sharing ✌️😎..
I was considering wiring it to a normal plug, but the lighter is a great idea, cause then it doesn't use one of the outlets. Love the power demonstration. Thanks!
I had a mini freak out, I wired it to a lighter plug, then it stopped working after about 30 seconds. After 3 hours of troubleshooting on the fan I realized I blew the fuse inside the lighter plug. Works like a charm with a new fuse!
We have a jackery and we love it! Our one thing we have noticed is it doesn’t have a Buick charge like the other battery we use! But we wouldn’t be with out it! We run our whole van of of 2 batteries and use the jackery as our back up. We have no solar at this time. So we charge our batteries with our van 12 volt!
Nice, I'm planning to do a similar thing. Could you comment (or show/link a video) of the fans (black/white) wiring, to the black and red wiring (that goes to the electric power station) what you used and how they are joined ? Thank you!
hay chrome did you watch my video on how i install roof fans only you did it exactly how i do drilling pilot hole up from the inside :) good job by the way
You made installing a roof fan so easy! You may not be a how-to kind of guy but you did a great job showing us how you did it. Thanks Chrome. Love your videos as always. Hugs to Disco!
Try an alpicool 18 quart refrigerator at around $200 on Amazon in the states on the jackery. I wanted those 3 things- max fan, lights, and that refrigerator. Curious to see if it will take all 3.
I might have to get a jackery... going to do solo van trips. I want to keep the van like a van, so modular interior. His would be perfect for it I think!
Hey Amanda! You can still use a fan just make a wooden window mount for it and it will be fine moving air inside. And you don't have to make any changes to the van. You can also make your cabinets fit the sides and just have a set of braces top and bottom to keep them in place. And the upper braces are great for adding LED lights. They are right where you need them over the counter's. Hit me up in Discord if you need any help with the design.
@@Makeitbymandy I'm trying to figure out if I should get that, or a secondary battery for my inverter. It runs off the van battery now, so I have to have the van running for big stuff. I wanna make sure I can run my vitamix for smoothies lol
Thanks for the info, I plan on adding 2 roof vents, one in and one out....in Florida it will be nearly mandatory. I have strongly considered using one of the all-in-one batteries to use primarily for just the 2 fans and charging an ipad and iphone.
I’m glad things are working out for you man. I have followed you since day one of moving in your van in one day. Ever since then, I moved in my truck (I needed a 4 wheel drive, which I know you are now contemplating). I also went to Vancouver during Christmas after your video with your daughter and the second suspension bridge visit. I went to that bridge and explored Vancouver. I got lost so many times, mainly because I didn’t have cell service there. Totally inspiring stuff Chrome. Keep it up, I know you are killing it on RUclips too! Living your best life, but doing what you love in the process.
12:50 is the electric hook up part. This is what I'm here for. This is so much simpler than what most people do.
@@minimatemasterworks for real. Def gonna do it this way. Just gotta splice some wires I am guessing.

"...for people who want to keep it super easy, super simple..." 🙋🏼♀️ That's for me! Thank you!
The video i needed. Thanks for explaining powering the fan like that. Made is simple to understand
Aaaaaaah I'm so excited I found this video! I knew there had to be a simpler way, wire-free way to power the roof fan. I'm sold on thr Jackery!
8:45 Gah Canadians are so nice! Also this was one of the more helpful videos on install even with the missing steps
You have answered SOOOOO many issues and questions I had and I KNOW I can make this build happen!
OMG 😳 I’d have an absolute Coronary if I even thought about cutting a hole 🕳 in the roof of my Van 🚐😳🤣🤦🏻♀️🥺😁. You did an amazing job Chrome 👍🚐😎
bless you this video just saved my van build

You made it look easy to in stall a roof vent . I will have to invest in one and replace the fan in my camper .

Thanks, mate. My needs are super simple. Just gotta get some air moving in my rig. Don't need a whole setup.
Amazing job Chrome!!! Again you made living the van life simple. It was a tutorial video done in Chrome fashion!! Phew...I need a beer!
You rocked that job. Write MaxWeirdo on it.

I think that was the most stress free roof vent fan installation non tutorial video I've seen so far! Lol
I just went on to Amazon and bought the Jackery 440 with your Promo Code. This will come in handy this summer.
Oh finally you got one AWSOME! I just got 2 fantastic fans myself. Van shamus seamus
Yep, I'm the kind of person who wants to keep it simple. This is the battery for me.
Awesome how you just pulled over on the side of the road and installed a freaking roof vent.

Hi, great help... I've been stressing over the power source for my Nissan van.
Looks great, and you dont need much power, even better, take care ...
Orale not bad Chrome! City boy is a handy man after all! Hey just put van City/van life sticker on your new vent
Love the Jackery.... 440 is Awesome... will do all your power for your van it's nice

Great job! I was to scared to cut a hole in my van. So I paid someone a lot of money to do it. You made it look easy.
I'm impressed I the the jacket will be a game changer. I think for me would be a wise purchase especially for boon docking. Thx
On this episode of pimp my van Disco films Chrome installing a roof vent like a boss.
Nice job Chrome

I guess this important even here in PNW, it's the answer to condensation !
Uh oh....where did Disco go? Missed his cute face in this one. Great job on the cutout.
Magical Moments Candid Photography Disco was the one filming. 🎥
I don’t think Disco is very good with tools & I’m sure hated the sound of the jigsaw cutting the metal of the roof. Poor little guy.
great job on this vent/fan process. i think you deserve an increase through Jackery. i hope they make you $$$ and thumbs-up!
Your fan looks awesome, can't wait for the cabinets I bet it will look so good. 👍
That was a ballsy thing to do & U succeeded 💪 Way to go Chrome! Van looks like a great white shark now from the side shot. Very cool. Stay weird.
You did a great job! Actually the tutorial was good too!
This was very helpful--thank you! Sadly, in 2022...
Good video Chrome, thanks for sharing.

great job.love the fan! disco be happy too.nice cool nights!
Awesome man, that portable battery device has changed the way I think about van builds! And hello from Devon, UK! Graham.
I live on a sailboat and they make the same thing but it has a little solar panel on it so you don't need to hook up to power.
