It's a sportscar!...yes it has a hard clutch which is certainly not excessive. Try driving an old sportscar... Yes it has a slightly baulky first and second when cold...but not for long. If you drive this car properly its fabulous. Save yourself money on wearing a clutch out and take an advanced driving course..regardless of how fast you drive.. .smooth technique and sympathy for the drive train pay huge dividends in wear. That's basically what this video is saying.....if drive this car properly and it will reward you in spades!

You have to wonder what idiot selected that 2nd gear ratio for reverse.

Having reverse gear about the same ratio as 2nd gear results in Aston-Martin recommending you not try to back up a steep grade, With that said, this technique sounds like a great improvement over the way I try to back up slight grades by modulating the throttle, which does jerk the car a lot. I recently had the twin plate clutch installed on my 2008 Vantage V8 and the only way I can describe how light the pedal is, it now feels like stepping on a Krispy Kreme Donut.

Every time I hear you talk about the clutches on these things, I wonder what you would say about mine... Feels perfectly fine to me, 17k on it currently, but I feel like you'd call it wooden and awful lol. Thank you for all your videos!

The two digital display screens for mileage and mph are not working (totally blank) on my 2010 V8 4.7 manual roadster. Is there an easy fix like changing a fuse or something similar for this or does it require a diagnostic plug in please? In your experience do the units need replacing or can you fix them?

Does this principle apply to virtually any manual clutch set up? ie, once you set the rpm's via the gas pedal, make adjustments to gear engagement via the clutch pedal,?

I have the 2015 Aston Martin vantage GT, sportshift , and I keep getting check engine light - dealer keeps Replacing O2 sensor, it keeps coming back, and now I’ve had the car shudder and stall a few times on me, and it feels “sluggish” - I did the clutch test (gas pedal down in high gear, watching RPMs) clutch is fine - was also replaced -15,000KM ago, single plate OEM. They also said there was a vacuum seal leak last time and fixed that as well, waiting to see if it does it again. Any idea what could be going on?

Shouldn't this be the way to drive any manual car? 😅
