    Love how people come up with these! Little sad the triggers are weird but maybe it will get better soon 😂 im a stacked shoulders kinda guy haha

      Someone can remix it to have different triggers. I like them flat, it makes it really pocketable.

      @@Johntrigercould you make a design that has a detent for the L2 and R2 buttons like L and R? Like a square cutout with one side of the square fully attached? That would have to use the stock battery, or at least one that doesn’t block the L2 and R2

      Maybe if they were both facing downwards kinda like four Us

    That's dope man. Did you increase battery size too? Does it get warmer? Also how's the comfortability?

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  9 дней назад +1

      Well it's about the same says 3000mah typical according to the battery specs. But it was salvaged from an old smashed phone.
      Haven't played long enought to feel it warm up.I mainly play gameboy advance so I set the performance to battery save and power save as much as possible since gba doesn't need much to run. Still fast forwards in that mode so I like that.
      Its nothing like my miyoo a30 or rg35xxsp which gets a bit warm to the touch. The a30 could be in the menu and get a bit uncomfortably warm especially on a hot day. It's pretty comfortable with the rounded sides that I added. I tend to play with one hand kinda sideways for casual pokemon or rpg games. I use both for more intense games like warioland and zelda. Triggers are pretty easy to click too. Roll all around with link.

      @@Johntriger nice. You should sell the back piece lol

      @@kingofall9262 Its a remix from NLD Design Shop's original design that is a bit sharp in my opinion but clean. You can see it on the purple console. I would not sell something I didn't originally make. But thanks for the sentiment, its free to download and print. I replied to another person with my print settings. Hope you can try them out! It's about 22 cents USD material cost to print in a cheap pla.

      Better than a cellphone, but yeah this isn't a super ergonomic design just very pocket-able.

    • @Shauny_D
      @Shauny_D 8 дней назад

      @@Johntriger bummer. I've been looking around for a fun handheld vertical style but even with a bigger ergonomic one like the Odin 2 my arms fall asleep after 20 minutes of gameplay. Might just mod one of my dmg gameboys instead

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  8 дней назад

      @@Shauny_D Do it, I am all for playing on original hardware if you have it! I even enjoy playing my original GBA SP and those are known for being everything but comfortable. So I am not sure what would be comfortable to you maybe the 40xx V would be an option to look at for up to Ps1 N64. the 406V is a beast with the Vertical style Gamecube / PS2 emulation. It has similar handle bumps to the RGCube. So that one might be more comfortable with the grips but heavier than the 40xx V.

    I do really like the mod as well. The only game that its become worse for me is Metroid (Zero Mission and Fusion) because those are pretty shoulder button centric. Ive really preferred it for everything else though

      I'll have to try it on zero mission I have been playing though that one recently.

  • @jackipiegg

    I use triggers for fast forward but those buttons are hard to press.
    Since you're using a rectangular battery compared to the original design, I'm thinking we could re-route the switches using wires for all 4 buttons.
    Would you give low-profile switch Kailh Choc v1 a try? Pinks have the lightest (20g) force which would be perfect for fast forwards, I typically "hold" for fast forward, not toggle.

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  9 дней назад

      Those are straight out off a mechanical keyboard huh, usuallt those are kinda big, I would have to get some to see if it's possible to make something that looks decent, But if there is a will there is a way. I switched to making X fast forward hold but I mainly play gba so I just need turbo a on Y.
      Since I use rocknix, and they still haven't fixed default hotkeys to be blank, I have to sacrifice one button to be all the hotkeys I can not clear to nothing. That button is L2 for me so l2 is set to save state load state and a bunch others I couldn't clear. Thats been a bug since jelos was a thing so I doubt they will fix it anytime soon.
      I typically use gpsp core since it has a built in fast forward key map set to r2 I just switch the controller profile to remove turbo b and set it to fast forward.
      Mgba is good for devices that have a rumble motor since it has built in rumble options. This V10 doesn't as far as I can tell there isn't a spot but I could be wrong.

      Hmm, the official dimension of the switch is 15mmx15mm, but you can cut off the tabs down to 8-9mm. Is that enough space?

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  9 дней назад

      @@jackipiegg at 9mm it would be sticking out by 1-2mm from this current design. I would like to see someone try it though. Are the pinks clicky or linear?

    • @jackipiegg
      @jackipiegg 9 дней назад

      @@Johntriger
      Pinks are linear, but if you want clicky the lowest force is 47g. Come to think of it, clicky seems better since pinks i've tried are super sensitive, akin to touch sensors.
      An idea could be making a hole for the switch and print thin keycaps for it making it flush with the case.

      Thanks! That thing can print carbon fiber!? Whaaat that's so cool! Do it! Not sure how much the buttons will flex with that but it would be nifty to see done. I have so far just tried some grey pla. Please post a make on my printables remix page if you do I want to see how it comes out! I just did a 8% infill , .12 layer, .2 base layer, brim for edge adhesion, and supports for screw holes but those might not be needed.
