Nice tutorial! I just got the V10 and love it so far, but the loud shoulder buttons do get annoying. Will try this out. By the way, I noticed your V10 was booting into Rocknix, even though the V10 isn't listed as a supported device on the Rocknix website. Did you just use the generic rk3326 build, and were there any issues with it? Do you prefer it over the default ArkOS?
You can try the rk3326 build. I am on a 7/30 build from the discord with a mem sleep fix. The current rk3326 build should work fine, might even have the sleep fix idk. Shows up as a RGB10 in settings and works just fine with my USB TPlink wifi dongle. I mainly use rocknix for the way it looks and syncthing. Hate how they manage hotkey control. Still wish you could erase hotkeys in retroarch like any other os. It's something to do with the way the default hotkeys are setup.
Great mod tutorial!! Thanks for sharing this mod comparison, the buttons gets really quiet . Quick question, that felp tape you're using is the one known as "masking tape" or is a different one?
Not masking tape just some tape for your skin its a paper/fabric like tape thats from a pharmacy. Pretty sure it's just for taping on gauze but works great for deadening sound due to being fabric. Checks your medical cabinet thats where I found mine. Sorry I ran out of space to record re assembly and putting the tape on the trigger buttons. But you do it the same way I showed on video.
Not really my a30 or anbernic sp are noticeably hot when playing. The a30 especially gets hot if you attempt to play n64 for more than a few minutes. No devices that I have played have shut off due to heat while playing indoors. That isn't a concern, but I haven't tried them in 100°F or anything like that. Just 70-80s. If you are talking about the led light block off yeah I just used some black tape you could probably just use a few layers of the same tape I put on the buttons.
Yeah you can add a .5 or 1mm themeral pad there is a little space. I personally set the power setting to power save when playing gba as I don't need the full power for gameboy. Honestly nothing really needs the performance mode in my experience so that will make it run cooler. If you run into issues with rom hacks or want to enable rewind support then you can use the on-demand power setting.
Honestly I wish I got the DMG and the Transparent black and did a button swap for black buttons and triggers on the trans black case. Instead I went SNES
The snes one is my favorite colorway. Just have more fond memories of my snes than my Gameboy DMG Brick, remember that my parents couldn't afford to buy batteries all the time so I couldn't play it much not plugged into the wall. You can always wait for deals and grab a couple more and make the colorway you want, they make great gifts so you could put them under a tree. SD cards can be swapped between them without issues.
I do not remember there being one sadly. The rgb20sx and rgb30 have rumble motor soldering spots labeled "motor". But those handhelds have inferior buttons to the v10. I plan to mod my purple model next and I'll double check but I doubt it has the rumble motor spot.

@Johntriger thanks for clarifying and replying. Great channel, you just got a new subscriber!
Does the device get hot quickly?? Also was the Black Tape an Electric Tape?

@@Johntriger so its ok to put atleast some sort of like a thermal pad to it just to be safe?

I got transparent black and want the SNES buttons! Powkiddy will let you order parts if you message their customer service. Worth a shot!
So no spot to add a rumble motor? 😢
