I'd really like to play The Next Encounter. Love everything about it, especially graphics. Looks similar to my favourite game in the series - Serious Sam 2. Great list bro!
I am so stoked to play Siberian mayhem ! Just wish next encounter was rereleased as well ! I remember playing the hell out of that demo all those years ago on those ps2 jam pack demo discs!
Yeah, i don't think Siberian Mayhem belongs on this list at all. It actually is an official mainline Serious Sam game, it just wasn't directly developed by Croteam. Personally i had the most fun with Tormental. I got access to the current development version and while it doesn't fundamentally change anything, there is a decent chunk of content in the works here. Though if you didn't like Tormental, it likely won't change your rating. Still, go ask in the official Tormental Discord if you're interested. Also i really wish Croteam were able to re-release Next Encounter on Steam. It's one of the few Serious Sam games i haven't been able to play but really want to. Am glad it's getting more appreciation in the fandom though.
I apologize a few days ago I watched this while I was ill. When you said most of these didn't feel like Serious Sam games, I thought I was the only one. I did play some of these myself, I wish I could play number 1 here.
Lolz man, I bust my ass finishing serious Sam 4 yesterday and I am finishing Sebirian Mayhem today. I also started HD first encounter and SS2. The only thing I can say so far is that SS4 even though it's a pretty great shooter, i really had some rough time with it thanks mostly to some difficulty spikes and Jesus I am not sure if it's the worst but I certainly had some almost dreadful times with it. It's quite incredible though to what extent all those issues have been completely resolved in Siberian Mayhem with an almost perfectly balanced difficulty level.
I would not think of Siberian Mayhem as a spin-off as much as it is a integral story within Sam 4. Although it also falls within the realm of Revolution's Bright Island (and I guess Gold's Dark Island?) of which neither of them are on here.
The Next Encounter probably hasn't had a re-release for the same reasons that Sam 2 hasn't - It's kind of a wacky engine and it was made under the 2K Games "cartoon" era that Croteam is trying to forget about for whatever reason.
If croteam could've made a better story probably serious sam siberian mayhem would've been canon and not spin off. Brand gets sent to the mental or sth in serious sam 4 story while in Siberian Mayhem story Brand gets killed by Sam. EXPLAIN CROTEAM???????????? and to be honest Siberian Mayhem is better than Serious Sam 4 i had too much breakdown since it first launched ss4... I'm aware that siberian mayhem was made by some fans if i'm correct and i respect more than croteam

Serious Sam 3 is my favorite. I've played 4 and Siberian Mayham and idk the 3rd game just hits different.
Siberian Mayhem is so fucking good

Your next encounter review is a classic

Bright/Dark Island are mods,so they aren’t actually cannon. Siberian Mayhem is cannon, and explains that there is at least 4 timelines

I absolutely agree with Siberian Mayhem's position, I haven't played the rest tho
Third one is good too.
