That sender looks very much like Chineseium. The original wouldn't have had any plastic. 10/10 for your diagnostics and repair, though I thought you might have removed the corrosion. Sure, it goes in the tank and no one will ever see it but...
I dunno must be my OCD.
When I was young, I hated the minor, loved the mini but hated the minor. Even when it was new it looked old. But these days, I don't know why, I have a new appreciation for them, wouldn't mind owning one now. There's one near me that's a pick-up, I don't know if the owner converted it or if they were ever available with a pick-up body.

The sender didn't look that old close up and I don't think it had survived very well - so yeah - poorly made. I cleaned it up the best I could in the time I had. There is a fuel filter before the pump so if anything comes off it and makes it that far it should be caught. I guess coming out in 1948 and running until 1971 it was always going to look old compared so so much around. I wasn't a fan in the 80s and went the Ford route, but these aren't bad old busses and they have a certain charm for sure.

Hi wonder if you can help identify a fault with s minor 1955 furl gauge. Without turning the ignition it shows empty (its mot stuck) and only moves to show 1/4 a tank despite being full. Any thoughts and assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I think I would start at the sender end, quite possible that the float is stuck in that position, does happen.
