Why I'm NOT using Montessori beads (and what I did instead)

Today's video explains two main reasons why I chose not to introduce the Montessori beads and their colour scheme to my toddler (and never did with my older guy either). You'll also get to see what I did instead!

Honestly, it depends where your child will be attending school afterwards. It's all about reducing the "culture shock" during transitions. For me, I knew my child wasn't going to attend a Montessori school here, so it did not make sense to introduce the colour sequence. The colour sequence shows up in Montessori math materials all the way to grade 6 (arguably into grade 7/8 dependind), so it would make sense if that was the road for your child.
