7:04 same as you, and I'm 5'7" and 115 lbs. I don't like the idea of scratching the bottom of my ski. I know it's not a huge issue if it's all pure sand, but let's face it, beaches rarely are. One shell or rock can leave a pretty gnarly stratch on your hull.
Love your videos! I agree with your comment about avoiding beaching a Yamaha. I also own a Yamaha, and I also don't beach it due to the paint Yamaha uses. I've gone to Tampa's Beer Can Island / Pine Island dozens of times and love that place.
@@TheShipsLogg Hillsborough County and the owners of Beer Can Island have been in a legal battle about zoning for several years. It's focused on them selling alcohol and public safety concerns. It's intensified lately, and the island was legally closed a few months back with "No Trespassing" signs put up. However, on my last visit in May, there were many boats and jet skis there. You just couldn't go onshore past the high water mark.
Found out that day that carrying 2 passengers on choppy water and not maintaining speed equals getting wet lol. Had my daughter and her friend on my ski when we stopped to check on someone who had flipped their ski upside down and here comes a wave and there we went all 3 of us lol...........great day though. Finally met you at the bar after watching so many of your videos. Funny story, when I first started watching your videos I noticed how easy it was for you to look inside the hull and I when I got my skis I had to climb on the trailer then at this event I realized that you can see Shaq eye to eye and everything was good and well in the world LOL
That was a great day!! I remember meeting you at the bar. It was a pleasure. The folks you stopped to check on when they flipped might have been my buddy and his son. I know they flipped their ski a couple of times that day. 🤣. Thanks for watching!
Great video Captain Frank. My question when I watch these videos is how bad does your ski get beat up? Especially your trip to Bimini and tieing to all those docks. I have a 2022 FX SVHO limited and try very hard to not let anything touch the ski, because as you know, it's so easy to scare a Yamaha! I spent part of this week-end sanding scratches on my hull (I watched your helpful video on that) that I got letting in my ski with my girlfriend riding. No matter how careful you are, you will get scratches!
You are absolutely right. The only way to not scratch it is to not ride it . . . And that's no fun. This is especially true if you are riding in areas that don't cater to jet skis. I am still trying to find the perfect fender but so far no luck. The only thing I can say is enjoy the ride and be as careful as you can.
@@TheShipsLogg It took a year but I final received by Limited accessories from Yamaha. They came with the new style of fenders that slip over the bumper and lock in place. I have not used on the water yet but they appear effective.
I've got one but its definitely too big to take on the ski. Thinking about buying another one that I will be able to take. There are so many restricted areas though it's crazy!
@@TheShipsLogg Yea they bought it without anyone knowing for $64,000 , now they are trying to sell it for $14,000,000 million because if they would of done their homework before they bought it they would of known the island goes under water with every big storm that passes by Tampa Bay.
u said u didn't have any mods..so, if u live in Georgia ,there's a place in Appling GA called Racelabs..they can do a 82mph plus tune for 250$...then id recommend a 13/20 solas...u need to mod that bad boy...lol..the tune is BAD ASS...and saves you 700$ that the map tuner cost...just an FYI...thx for vid..great as always sir!
@Frank Taylor ya Frank...i live in MO..branson area..i sent my ecu off to them b4 i done any mods. I sent my ecu off on a monday got back on the next Saturday ...it went 77 stock after tune..then after my stage 2 mods it goes top 80s...and same tune...its amazing my friend!
I remember when going to the island was a guaranteed relaxing day, man has that change.
You have a jolly laugh. Love your videos. Thank you.

Awesome video brother! Great day indeed. Also RIP to your hat, it’s happened to the best of us lol
So far I'm at two hats and one camera at the bottom of Tampa Bay! LOL!
We definitely had fun that day. It was such a cool sight in person to see a sea of PWCs out there, but that ride back was killer!
I'm ready to do it again!!! 🤣
Good morning Captain Frank. Heading down in May for the Dunedin Excursion. Hope you make that one too. Ride On!
That is awesome. I'm hoping I can make it too!
Great video! I really hope the lady at the @12:00 time mark was able to use the bathroom, lol =0)

Your ski is more beautiful than mine, I pull mine up by the bow when necessary otherwise, I throw an anchor and let it float
Good practice!!
