- The Adizero SL2 and Supernova Rise are two everyday running shoes from Adidas with a similar price point and purpose. Priced at $130, the Adizero SL2 is the newest Adidas training shoe to hit the market, and it borrows technology from racing shoes in the lineup. Priced at $140, the Supernova Rise was designed from the groundup with comfort as the main brief. In this video, I give an overview of both shoes, run 8 miles in each and let you know which one is best for you.

I was just thinking someone should do this head to head. Yowana is on it!
At this point I feel like you are an official Adidas SL2 spokesperson lol.
It seems like people love them and they will hit the sale (already have) soon. So at 90$ it's a no brainer.
@@justoutlaw6423 I am having trouble finding that price point...........can you help a runner out :-)
Loving your channel Yowana!! You introduced me to Tracksmith and I am really enjoying the Elliot Runner for my walking and running use. Thanks again. 🙂
Bro, I got the SL2 in the mail Monday and they are damn good.
Is it good for easy runs?
I'm a beginner runner (I'm only resuming my running habit after 5 years of hiatus, so better start from scratch) trying to rebuild the running habit.
Also I need it for a do it all shoe
@@giffarmasabih8108 I'm back to a beginner level too with little prior running experience and these shoes have been excellent for me thus far.
@@giffarmasabih8108 It is! I'm a slow runner (7:00/km pace)
Long video form is the best dont let people discourage you. I'm from the carolinas too and my buddy is a runner in the Kannapolis area..I'm going to tell him to check you out.
Got my SL2 today! 🔥💯🔥 thanks for helping me make a super satisfying purchase.
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I'm gonna buy both shoes ^^.(tried SNR at Adidas shop already, but not yet for SL2)
Thru your review I cemented my decision is right.
SNR will be used for LSD, slow jog, and the rest Marathon training from E to T pace will be done in SL2. Other session will be done in my Takumi 9 and Boston 12. (I'm quite hype seeing my shelves having all these shoes in coming times)
I like your long-form videos. They allow you to do in-depth reviews. I don't feel as if there is unnecessary information.
Plus he puts heavy mileage on these shoes, just like us everyday runners do. Really gives a real-world, long-term perspective.
SL2 was def soft and comfortable. Great shoe for those easy days but didn’t give me enough forefoot cushion and pop. Too soft. Def gives you the pop if you heel to toe strike. Prefer the B12 as a higher mid/forefoot striker.
Great video AM comparison! Did you compare the SL2 with adios 8?? Both use the same foams and not use roads 😊
I dont want to be critical but you should tell your boy at supwell track to be more confident he has the knowledge and is doing well we just need the supwell swag and confidence love the vids and direction both channels are going I often find myself rewatching videos even the long ones
Hey Yowana, big fan of yours from New Zealand. I appreciate you putting in the work with the shoes for your authoritative reviews. Your passion and work ethic is the point of difference. Did you get the SL2 in the same size as the Boston 12? Some commentators are saying they run a little short.
Thank you! And yes I got them in the same size as the Boston and they both fit comfortably. They are definitely a little more snug than the Bostons but I've put almost 100 miles in them and don't have any discomfort/blisters etc. You could go up half a size if you want extra room but will probably be okay in the same Boston size
Hi @Yowana i am binging your videos lately haha. I am a true Adidas fan and only running in adidas. at the moment i rotate between supernova for easy and boston 12 for treshold/tempo. Adizero pro 3 for racing and intervals. at 77-81kg i need just a bit of stability. but youre making me really hyped for the SL 2... my boston and supernova both have 400-500km now and i am looking for a new one. do you think the SL2 is a switch and for what type of shoe?
my easy or Z2 runs are ranging from 5:30-6:30 with some strides. treshold/tempo is more 3:50-5-min per kilometer.
i am 186 with 80kgs atm and a good amount of muscles
Tried on the SNR but as a forefoot striker the chunky heel got in the way too much so a no for me. Will definitely give the SL2 a try.
Bought the sl2 bc of you and it’s literally the best shoe in my lineup.
Ayyyy amazing! Glad it's working well for you 💪🏽🙌🏽
Glad to see the Revenge Tour continue because I def pulled the trigger on the SL2! I'm in Canada and we only have the men's version out atm, so you best believe after all this Supwell-certified hype I bought my women's size in the men's shoe 😂 Out for delivery today!! So excited! Works out perfectly cause next run will be more of a recovery/easy effort 👍 Thanks for another thorough comparison!
Ayyy I hope you love them! Glad you scooped up a pair 🙌🏽
Prima: Midsole drop: 8 mm (heel: 38 mm / forefoot: 30 mm) 👀
How is the Rise for walking/casual or the Solution? Thank you
Good to see that someone at some of the manufacturers are thinking about the product and not just about the cost of production..it's a great time for running shoes and gear..and it's great to see new ideas and materials being utilized to make our interests more comfortable and enjoyable..apparently when I asked for some Carolina heat ,you really delivered..after 5 straight days of 92f to 98f it's ok if you dial it down a notch..😂😂..as always thanks for brightening my morning as my 9yr old says, "Come on dad let's go see if the bullfrogs are croaking in the ditch when we run past..thank God for little guys..
Ouuuu man 98F is not fun! I am escaping out of town this weekend just in time for the 100+ temps
@supwell great idea..I will go up to the lake this weekend and long run test the skyward Saturday and the cloud monster hyper Sunday morning..much cooler and maybe a little rain..the bonus is at the end of my runs I go directly in the lake as a cool down..sometimes I even take off my shoes 1st..hahaha..have a great time with the fam..
The prima’s description sound way more appealing than the other supernova’s! That is except for the price, of course lol
Nova blast 4, SL2, or Supernova Rise? for 5k, 10k and everyday?
Prima in the rotation soon?
Two of my favorite shoes right now. I use the Supernova Rise as a long, easy/recovery shoe and the SL2 as an uptempo daily trainer. Excellent shoes at an excellent price.
Mystery Shoe: New Balance Balos
Got the SL2 - really like them
Have you considered an Adidas Adizero SL2 vs. Topo Cyclone 2 review? I really like the Topo Cyclone 2 but for $130 or less and a higher drop, is it worth considering switching to the SL2?
I tried Supernova Prima and I really liked it far more than Supernova Rise. I think 8mm drop and more foam changes the dynamics and I like the tongue is not as plush. Even though it is heavier than Rise, personally I think it is more enjoyable over various paces from recovery to tempo.
Do you have partnership with Mount to Coast and TYR?
How is the bounce in the SL2 compared to the Invincible Run 3? I love the cushion of the Invincible but it's heavy. In fact I have two pairs for recovery and casual wear. The SL2 has me intrigued. I picked up the Fuelcell V4 because initial step in felt great but after a few miles I quickly realized it lacked the bounce and energy return I was looking for..... I want a light weight, bouncy shoe that breathes well for summer heat. I'm also a heavier runner, which is why I probably enjoy the Invincible so much. I do have a pair of Prime X Strung 2 which I absolutely love but once again a little bottom heavy.
The SL2 is in between the rebel and invincible in terms of bounce and cushion. Much bouncier than the rebel but not as cushioned as the invincible. If you like the prime x strung but found that too heavy this should be a good one for you - I've had some runners tell me this is a similar but less cushioned feel
Hi , thoughts on the supernova prima? Can it be paired with novablast 4's? Thanks and more power!!
Planning to test the prima soon! Stay tuned
Been looking for this one as I'm curious about them though as I still have miles left on both the vomero17 and boston12 I'll skip buying these. I like rabbit shirts and half tights. GU for gels. Gatorade for the electrolyte tablets. Ucan gels for larger more liquid are great too
FUN ONE : If you had to pick 1 shoe to run in for a whole year, training and racing, what would you pick?
Ouuu man that's a hard one. Since I train a lot more than I race I'd probably have to go for something like the SL2 or 860v14 - versatile shoes that are fun and can do some pace but still comfortable for putting up big mileage. Something like endorphin pro 4 could be good too but I think I'd get tired of running in a plated racer everyday
@@supwell I like it. Very interesting choices!
Bought a pair of SL2s on Yowana’s and EddBud’s reco; they really are very, very good regardless of price point.
I think SL 2 is too soft for heavy runners as my self.
Hi. I've been using the SL (first version) in the size 9,5. But, for running purposes it I should have got the size 10, because my big toe is little pressed in the 9,5 after some time running. So I've ordered the SL2 in the size 10. Could you say the Supernova accommodates the foot in a similar way? Or it has enough room in the toebox that I could use the size 9,5 comfortably.? tks
Supernova rise is a little more forgiving and roomier in the toebox. I think those sizes will fit you well
So much options that i think I am going crazy! what is your favorite shoe for tempo at 140$? I am waiting for adios 9 before pulling the trigger
No need spend too much, buy triumph 20/21, easy-up tempo, I use it up to 7ml pace, if you're fast runner buy DN2, really good for me at 7-5 mile pace.
Hoka Mach 6 is the one to buy for that. SL2 is great too but if you're planning on the Adios 9 as well I'd get the Mach 6
Is that new shoe the Deviate Nitro 3?
Do you do any stretching?
Adidas sl2 or vomero 17? Using novablast4 atm
I'm curious how the Hyperion 2 (not Max) will stack up against the SL2 with the DNA Flash v2. You're one of the few who have tried that foam, but with a plate. I find the Hyperion Max v1 so comfortable and they filled in that severe heel bevel, which may make it a better walking shoe, too.
I'll guess Balos for the mystery shoe. I've seen reviews on the Hyperion Max 2 & SC Trainer v3.
P.S., please watch your hydration & electrolytes in this heat.
Those electrolytes are key right now!
Can you try out the ASICS magic speed 4 for us next?
Sagasu running RUclips guy loves the Rise. He has a rave review of it worth checking out.
I got the SL2 yesterday and took them out for a zone 2 run, in the heat. I had to lace them pretty tight but once I did they felt great. They’re very soft and flexy, way more than I expected. I’m looking forward to more miles in the SL2 but the heel felt like it could’ve had more beef to it, and I’m a midfoot striker not really landing on my heel unless I do it intentionally - we’ll see but that’s the only con I have from the first 45 min run in them.
Shout out to the Topo cyclone 2! Fun shoe, fast shoe, lower drop. I like them on the treadmill. I’m 190 lbs and I think I beat those things into the ground, wish it was a bit thicker with that awesome midsole.
I hope the Rise is on a massive discount bc I want to try them. I don’t know how you keep making these long videos man lol. But keep it up. Lol
Ayy glad to hear you got the SL2 - that crazy soft and bouncy feeling settled in a bit after a few runs and the shoe got a tad calmer. Btw running warehouse has the supernova rise for $95 right now - but I'm sure if you wait adidas will sell it for $70 at some point 😂
Completed a track workout last night 16x400, 300x5, 200x5, 100x5, followed by 10 miles this morning, SL2 held up well
Any chance you can sang the Hoka Skyflow and Rabbit Sky Chaser for review
Amazing! Glad to hear they're working well for you. And yeee skyflow will be coming in from hoka as soon as they start sending them out. I can add the rabbit shoe to the list as well
Deviate Nitro 3?
Cant wait fpr Prima bro. Seriously.
Guessing that it’s a puma deviate nitro 3
Big shout-out to the hawk chilling at the stop sign around 21:05! Considering the current trend, I'm anticipating that the SL3 will be at least as impressive as the AP3. :D
New Balance Propel v5 for the show at the end 🤞🏽
Could you do SL2 VS Triumph 21?
What would be a good rotation with the SL2
If you like that softer feeling the 1080v13 from new balance would be a good choice. SL2 for faster days and workouts and the 1080 for recovery and relaxed miles
Package was the Hoka skyflow?
Coming soon but not that package!
Love the SL2
Shoe in the box is the Puma Deviate Nitro 3
Mystery shoe guess- NB Supercomp Trainer V3
You should link up with Bandit, Rabbit, or Tracksmith
great review! how do you compare adidas SL2 vs Saucony Tempus?.
Tempus is bouncier and has more of a rocker to it. I would go for the Tempus if I were doing a legit workout. Supernova rise is a little more of a relaxed shoe. Also Tempus feels more versatile for different types of footstrikes. Supernova rise feels best for heel striking
Adios 9 in the box? 👀
The mystery box contains the New Balance SC Trainer V3.....
Now throw the b12 into the comparison too
Did that comparison a few weeks ago! Here you go: Adidas Adizero SL2 vs Adidas Boston 12

Ain’t no way you quoting meek mill. Will you be reviewing the Supernova Prima tho
Yessir stay tuned!

Brooks Ghost Max 2 at the end of the video!
That new one gotta be Prima!
Another SL2 video 🙄🥱

new balance propel v5 ?
You were the winner! Send me your shipping address yowana@supwell.io and I'll get a hobby jogger hat to you when I'm back from vacation next weeek
@@supwell sweet. Thank you! My email starts with an r and ends with a 6
Sl2 is way more pleasant than Rise, I don't think they're close even as casual sneakers
Question: the Boston 12 or this SL2? I’m debating because they are at similar prices right now!
Which one did you end up going with?
I’m currently building towards a HM in Sept, using Peg 37s for everything. Wondering which shoe to get for race day, or should I just stick with the Pegs. (Am a beginner at around 10 mile pace)
@@shimoshimo5737 hey! I actually went with the Boston 12 because I’ve never had an adidas shoe and I just feel like it’s an iconic shoe. If you go with this one I’d recommend with half a size down. I went true to size, it’s comfortable but If I were to race in it id like something a bit more snug. I wouldn’t race in it because it’s not very cushioned. I’d use it for like 3-5 miles but anything more I’d like something more comfortable and with more foam because you definitely feel the impact. You can pick up the pace in these. All comes down to what your looking for and what you preference is!
As far as race day shoes you definitely have better options where you don’t have to break the bank. Me personally I’m not a fan of Nike shoes when it comes to the daily trainers, tempo, or easy run. They definitely make a good race day shoe but it come with a hefty price. I ran my last marathon in the Saucony endorphin pro 3 and I love the snap and bounce to it. They were so light and responsive. I think you can definitely find a good shoe for sale and go with last years model.
Best of luck to you my friend on your running journey!!!!
Fuck it, I am buying the SL2 LOL. Step aside new balance more v4
Yeaaa Booiii

👍
MYSTERY SHOE- puma deviate nitro 3
Brooks Hyperion Max 2
where are people getting it for 90
Currently, you can only get them for that low with club points, if I'm not mistaken. There was a, now expired, 30% off code last week.
The new code on the Adidas site/app knocks them down to $100.
@@shirtxlsad the women’s SL2’s aren’t included in the sale… I don’t know if there’s any meaningful difference between the men’s and women’s version? Maybe I should just get the men’s 🤔
