hit 123 miles in my pair today.. zero issues so far.. can’t notice ANY wear on the outsole.. upper is starting to get a little more forgiving in the forefoot but still has its structure and lockdown through the midfoot.. the midsole’s versatility is still there.. just so so good

I watch your videos every day. On the SL2, I really like that feeling of not having a lot of shoe on my foot. I've also thought in the context of you and I wearing the same size. You're much bigger and stronger than I am so a 10+ oz. shoe feels like a lot towards the end of the run. I hope you got out early this morning to beat the heat. Hey Yowana, love your channel. But I think this is a missing part in the running community (but I guess it would be very niche). All that is to say that shoes like the Rebel v3 and v4 work well for lighter runners, but if a heavier set runner such as myself runs in them (a shorter stack shoe) they tend to bottom out after a pretty short distance (for myself it was about 4 miles). But I love the reviews, and think it would be neat if you could explain your footstrike (like how you heel strike a bit) a little more for people so people aren’t confused when one shoe is good for you but not someone else. Thanks, if you see this!
100 Mile Review more than a month in the making... inspirational! Truly respect and appreciate the discipline and dedication required to deliver such golden content 🌟👏 Loving my SL2's as well! I do get some rubbing from the upper along the base of my left toe after 4 or so miles... but it's too fun of a shoe to not run in. Blister bandaids have become a great friend! 😆 Thanks for the recommendation!
Oh dang hate to hear about the blisters but glad they're fun for you otherwise! I think they have a wide version but they always offer them in the blandest colorways 😩

Just had my first run in the SL2 thus morning at easy pace. Feels good and protective! Gone half a size up, as adidas shoes tend to be run small to me due to my high volume foot! Looking at your laces, I just realised that I have been short changed, mine are barely long enough! I have new laces on order! Apart from that can't complain, especially when I got them for £80 (just over $100). In today's market that's a bit of a bargin!
I took a 7.5 in the SL2 and 7 in Boston 12. Both are awesome shoes. The SL2 is more narrow in the forefoot to me, which is why I went up a half size. Length still feels fine.
Your haters have arrived....... Yowana that means you are doing well. I find your reviews insightful. It's just impossible for me to try out all the different shoes but luckily you are doing it for me. After viewing your reviews on the New Balance range I am considering the brand as my next buy. I still would want to own a Pegasus 41 as a casual shoe, it looks incredible in that Volt colourway. Thanks for your hard work.

I really appreciated your mid-run thoughts on commitment. You've got many decades ahead to be old and boring in. Keep doing what you do. And yeah, I'm also in central NC and the last week has been absolutely brutal outside. Kudos for sticking with it.
Just got these last week and put 50km in them. Interesting how different people perceive softness. I personally wouldn't consider these to be very soft. They're marginally softer than the Boston 12, and nowhere near as soft as the 1080 v13. However, it does feel a lot softer when landing heel first compared to a forefoot strike. When it comes to faster runs, I definitely prefer the Boston 12. It's equally as responsive, but the fibreglass rods and more aggressive rocker makes turning over much easier. Though the SL2 has the bounce from the Lightstrike Pro, I feel it's a bit nerfed by a flat-footed geometry and lack of a stiffening agent.
Hi @Yowana i am binging your videos lately haha. I am a true Adidas fan and only running in adidas. at the moment i rotate between supernova for easy and boston 12 for treshold/tempo. Adizero pro 3 for racing and intervals. at 77-81kg i need just a bit of stability. but youre making me really hyped for the SL 2... my boston and supernova both have 400-500km now and i am looking for a new one. do you think the SL2 is a switch and for what type of shoe? my easy or Z2 runs are ranging from 5:30-6:30 with some strides. treshold/tempo is more 3:50-5-min per kilometer. i am 186 with 80kgs atm and a good amount of muscles 😀
Putting in the work, Yowana!! Great job! But do you ever have any rest days? I think rest days are also important in order to be sustainable and keep going
Nice video man. I like you. For me that 90% of the time i walk fast or slow and 10% run what you recommend me. I heard that you said brooks ghost max and adidas supernova rise. Of course i will go and try them but i need a list of the ''best ones'' for my situation according to your experience.
Brooks ghost max would be my top pick for that! It's a super comfortable walking shoe that also handles running decently well - it's more comfortable than fast, but if you're looking for 90% walking it'll be perfect. If you want something with a little more bounce and aggressive feel to it for running, the hoka Mach 6 would also be a good choice. It has a more exciting and fun feel, but it's a little less stable and comfortable than the ghost max
I just did a 21 km long run for 2 hours in alphafly 3s to demo it before a race and compared to my endorphin pro 3 for long run, it's more comfortable and my knees take less of a beating. Based on my pace, i'm a mid packer and heel striker but so many reviewers say the endorphin pro 3 would be better for me but that isn't the case. I think the stiffness of the foams are really a big factor here. I tried the cielo x1 before the endorphin and those shoes didn't along with me either as it was heavier and my heel strike hitting the awkward part of the shoe. I just don't see how alphafly 3 wouldn't be good for midpackers as emphasized by you and other shoe reviewers, maybe I'm a highly specific case haha. For context i'm 5'8" 150 lbs

Could you confirm that it does not have a stability component? other youtube videos mentioned those who pronates, this shoe will not be able to support them.
Novablast also fit me in 10.5 - if the standard version of that fit you as well you'll probably be good with the 10.5 here! It seems like a lot of people sized up though 🤷🏽♂️ I would look through some of the other comments here as well to get some other perspectives
I think I ran most runs between 8 and 9 minutes per mile - but I had no "easy" pace back then 😂 every run was pretty much an all out speed run, which I do not recommend. So a true easy pace probably would've been around 10 minutes per mile
Both are soft and decently stable but the more v5 has more of a cradle effect that holds your foot in place - so the more v5 will work a little better if you need a little more guidance. SL2's stability moreso comes from the platform being a little lower to the ground and more natural feeling - but it can be really squishy and unstable out of the box
This is my favorite pyhsical education equipment podcast but the host has a different running style than me which is a damn shame because I keep buying shoes that don't make sense to me (skill issue I know but still) - Do you think you could do like 12 miles in a shoe where you just switch through running styles like rear, mid, forefoot - shuffle and pop off edition, chill and speedy? Like an anklebreaker fartlek? Dont need to put on the goku weight vest but that would be sweet info addition
Hahaha this comment made me chuckle. What's your running style? I'm guessing more of a forefoot runner? Also what shoes didn't work for you and what have? I can give some picks that might work better based on that. But between this and the Mach 6, if you're an aggressive forefoot runner you might have better luck with that one due to the roll in the front. I've had a few forefoot strikers now say they didn't love the SL2
@@supwell Aah my bad I was making up an issue to push my agenda, I think it'd be cool to have running footage like "okay relaxed rearfoot mashing feels garbagio but mild midfoot agression gives me wings" type runs, I usually just ajust my running style if a shoe doesn't suit my usual, more forefoot way of running. Like the rebellion pro 2 or the cielo x1 I just had to play around to find a stride to engage the foam properly. Novablast 3 - if I run that rearfoog it's weird and boring, run it on my toes - trampoline engaged, bops me along beautifully. It's like I wanna know how we milk these shoes as good as we can you know? Hoka mach 6 sounds tempting for sure, kinda scared that at 200lbs I might crush it a little
@yowana My current SL1 is a 9-UK / 10-US and theres about an index finger space infront. What would the right size be for the SL2? There are none in store yet, but i'd like to order it online.
One more question. How are the Boston 12s at easy paces. Do they feel softer and more gentle than the SL1? Also, at faster paces, are the B12s noticeably better at keeping pace than the SL2s.
Thanks man! And def the Structure 25. It's up there with the 860 for one of my favorite durable workhorse style shoes. It's so easy to run in and has a nice smooth ride. It's one of the shoes I go to for easy miles and walking when I'm not testing anything. SL2 is great but doesn't feel as sturdy and stable as the Structure 25
Bud don’t be a hero. You look beat. No need to push through. Take a few days to chill. It’s 90 and humid here too so I know how that takes it out of you. Running will always be there in a few days. Enjoy some popsicles !!

How stable is the SL2 compared to the More V5?
Both are soft and decently stable but the more v5 has more of a cradle effect that holds your foot in place - so the more v5 will work a little better if you need a little more guidance. SL2's stability moreso comes from the platform being a little lower to the ground and more natural feeling - but it can be really squishy and unstable out of the box
These or deviate 3?
👍
I got the same size as my SL1 and it fits well. So if you like the fit of that I'd go same size
@@supwell Awesome, thanks!
One more question. How are the Boston 12s at easy paces. Do they feel softer and more gentle than the SL1? Also, at faster paces, are the B12s noticeably better at keeping pace than the SL2s.
@@ZaahirJappieBoston 12 not my favorite at easy pace. Definitely a little softer than the SL1, but SL2 is better than both for relaxed miles
@supwell thanks bud....and the B12s keeping pace vs the SL2? I managed to fit on a B12 this morning...wow what a shoe! The lock down is so good.
For me SL2 it’s definitely not true to size.I need half size up than my regular size to feel comfortable
Another banger 🤌🏼 SL2 or Structure 25 for a bigger runner that doesn’t necessarily need stability (but likes a little bit) in a daily trainer?
@@supwellyou’re the GOAT. Thanks man 🙌🏼
Just hit 25 miles in mine.
Bud don’t be a hero. You look beat. No need to push through. Take a few days to chill. It’s 90 and humid here too so I know how that takes it out of you. Running will always be there in a few days. Enjoy some popsicles !!
LETSGOOOOOOO

it's on the list! stay tuned
do you use a heart rate monitor?
My watch has one built in (coros pace 3) but I don't look at the data very often anymore. I prefer to train by feel and effort - I personally find it more enjoyable!
What are your thoughts on massage guns?
Super relaxing and I always feel great after I use mine! I don't do it all the time but I enjoy it when I do
