Hey I am planning on studying in this university next year. Is computer science good in this university, do I need to be good at maths, and what are the opportunities of jobs after graduating.
For Reference: I worked with a bunch of Uni of Warwick alum in a tech company that had an office in Birmingham, England. University of Warwick is a really strong university in the UK and has a very strong reputation for Engineering and Science especially. The CS program at Warwick is fairly math heavy though, and you need to have good grades in A Level math to get on to the course. Job opportunities are outstanding. The company we worked for was an excellent tech company, and many of the Warwick CS alum worked for large tech/FANNG companies.
i was considering doing at computing degree however the ict i studied at A-level is mostly hardware , software relating to how a business would use such programmes and tools. i never studied coding languages , is that something you learn or have to have previous knowledge to become successful at such course. thank you.
What were ur alevels? Will not taking mathd be a bad thing ? I wanted to switch but its been 2 months since school started and have midterms in dec idk what to do ugh
I took Maths, Computer Science, Physics, Further Maths AS and Chemistry AS. I think taking maths will definitely help - especially as it is a requirement for most universities. However, it is doable w/o maths. You just have to look at what universities you want to apply for and if your choices will suit that :)
To be honest since nowadays all computers are quite fast you can survive with toaster, thought it's not gonna be ideal...ultrabook level i5 with 8gb ram will be nice and futureproof so you wont have to switch after a year or two
Well your question and thought process is only wrong.. Ur first questions must be 1) what's computer science? 2) career after computer science degree 3)which are the subjects u will have to study. Laptop/pc is the least important thing . Any Machine will do. Unless you're doing some high level machine learning/Ai stuff Btw search all the above listed questions on RUclips and get your knowledge Thank me later

Yes it is
its a big disadvantage depending on where you study

I see everyone wake up play sport/ do yoga / put some makeup and get there at time bro if i blink twice i will be late 😔
Would u recommend getting a Mac for CS or is windows + Linux an equally viable option. Also is a lot of power necessary for cs.
bro windows is better unless you want to be an ios developer which is mac a better option for. You can use virtualbox to get linux on windows too.
linux , also for a beginner I recommend Ubuntu , start using the command line

how long does the bus from leamington to campus take?
Depends where you live. If you live in north Leam, it can take about 30 mins, whereas if you live in south, it will be closer to 40 mins :)
thank you, does it get annoying having to travel that long every day?
Honestly, yeah it does, but it kinda encourages me to stay on campus to do work because I know that I wont want to after the long journey home.
So done programming on MacBook and wearing Microsoft t-shirt ….. and do a bit code..
that's the all day
what is your country btw..?
