This was one of the best informative videos I have ever watched. I am not insulted if it is assumed I know nothing, I really liked the step by step procedures listed.

im new to computer building. getting ready to possibly build. than i saw this option to enhance my laptop for gaming and possibly my imac. i am a gamer and want to optimize my gaming experience as best i can get it. does this support a gtx 970? how many can it support? lastly does your technical support provide support in the event i can not figure it out myself.
Can I run a gpu card and a nic card side by side?
noob question. Can I use a RME sound card and a GPU at the same time on the same chassis?
Yes you can. Note that the only GPU card supported on macOS in the Echo Express III-D is the single-wide AMD Radeon WX7100.
Can I connect this device also to a thunderbolt 3 (with adapter)?
Or the thunderbolt 3 version with an adapter to a tb2-device? ... want to use it with MacBookPro(Touchbar) and MacPro2013
Thx4reply, I use both and so I need a device that I can connect to both busses TB2 and TB3. Thx for your support! So, with adapter no problem :) #yeah!
Is it possible to install a Radeon graphics card?
Where I buy?
The Echo III-D supports the single-width Radeon Pro WX7100; and eventually should support the Radeon Pro W5500, when the software support is released for it. The successor product, the Echo III Desktop, is available on the Sonnet web store.
@@SonnetTech Tks!
Why is this so expensive? $900 for just an adapter and a case bigger than the used in the $200 Akitio, or am I missing something?
+SonnetTech Thanks for the detailed response. Since most of the mentioned features are an overkill for my needs, are there any plans to launch a competitor to the Alienware Graphics Amplifier, given that it has everything you need to run a graphics card out of the box and it costs $250? (Except for the proprietary port instead of thunderbolt) Or the eGPU solutions are not part of the target products?
+Oscar Vásquez You can use an Echo Express with a third party power supply and jury rig an external GPU solution. Sonnet would advise against it, but it does work.
ya let buy the new pc for home that better
Compatible con windows ?
Yes! the Echo Express III-D Thunderbolt 3 Edition is compatible with latest version of Windows 10. The Echo Express Thunderbolt 2 edition, shown in this video, is macOS only.
This works with GTX 980 or Titan?
+SonnetTech I'm confused. He asked about the GTX 980 and Titan, both which are made by NVidia. Do you mean NVidia cards aren't compatible?
You say that, but a friend has been running external GPU over a sonnet for over 3 years now without a huge amount of hacking.
Windows compatible?
The Thunderbolt 3 Edition of the Echo Express III-R is compatible with Windows. Please review the tech spec page at:

Attaching something like this into the Mac? Does Apple allow it? Highly doubt it.
think again, genius

Power pin connector front
The Chassis can provide the 8-lane PCIe cards with 25W and the 16-lane PCIe cards with 75W. The internal 6-pin Molex AUX PCIe power connector can provide an additional 75W for cards that need it, like the Avid HDX card.
