1:27 He killed that whole shit, especially the Dexter line LMAO. "Don't make me cover your kitchen in plastic and do the Dexter"
Bobby had a dream
Lennon had a dream
Ubi have a dream
[Hook]
All my life I want power and money
Respect my mind or die a death bloody
Pray my name became as famous as kid cudi
So I can fuck the world for bills and rent buddy
[Verse 1: Ubiquitous]
God damn I feel crazy, dammit I'm sick of waitin'
I'm grindin' looking for a sign, while I'm rhyming in anticipation
Coming after the stats of a master, like VROOM VROOM I'm chasing
Facing the path of greatness, but its too soon to say it
I pray that they loose they patience, pray that I made to prove it
Making the strangest music, only take me a day to do it
Flew to New York to shoot it, take a look if you're listen'
For all you pussies that blew it I came to Brooklyn to get it screamin'
[Hook]
All my life I want power and money
Respect my mind or die a death bloody
Pray my name became as famous as kid cudi
So I can fuck the world for bills and rent money
God damn I got business (x3)
Merchandisin' and digits
All my life I want power and money
Respect my kind I ride for Ces bless
[Verse 2]
OK I'm signed its time to set a couple records
Yessir that pensive got em all defensive, So I guess I'll be the aggressor
They so you only reap what you sow so I put in effort
Got Brooklyn under my feet as I speak so I cook with pressure
My brain is under the strain of the game got a loose connector
Don't make me cover your kitchen with plastic and do the Dexter
Your hopin', I'm chokin', my flow is so focused, my soul is so broken
Now we rollin' slow motion singing
[Hook]
All my life I want power and money
Respect my grind or die a death bloody
Pray my name became as famous as kid cudi
So I can fuck the world for bills and rent money
God damn I got business (x3)
Merchandisin' and digits
All my life I want power and money
Respect my grind my spit is a gold mine
[Verse 3]
I did my bid in obscurity, lay in wait till they hearing me
Question whether they concern me, till they take a taste of my purity Ha
There's nuthin new under the sun certainly Ha
I'm numbing they gums and they tongue thoroughly
Thought maybe they could play with me cause I'm friendly and neighborly
After they hear this we'll see how serious that they takin' me Ha
Not a matter don't money the money's makin' me HA
Constant Energy struggles coming I take the street
When I count to ten the retreat, we finna oust them when they speak
KC MO where the block is rotten, don't be downwind of my peeps
R double O K L Y N we out here mobbing to this beat
R double O K L Y N come see me squadron we not peace
[Hook]
All my life I want power and money
Respect my mind or die a death bloody
Pray my name became as famous as kid cudi
So I can fuck the world for bills and rent money
God damn I got business (x3)
Merchandisin' and digits
All my life I want power and money
Respect my mind or die your death bloody
(Outro)
Let it run lady
Bobby had a dream
Lennon had a dream
Ubi have a dream
Thanks
I cant even begin to explain how much Strange Music pumps me up! Everytime I think I've seen what they have to offer they flip the script with something fresh and untouchable! Guess that's what happens when those with talent recruit those with equal/greater talent. I know this ain't new but GODDAMN! STRAAAAANGE MUSIC!
From my Information from Following UBI on Social Media,
this song wasn't meant to sound better then Kendricks,
this song isn't meant to be a Parody either,
Kendrick Lamar is a Rapper UBI looks up to,
so this song is Straight out Respect and Mutuality to the King Kunta
I know you commented this two years but imma reply anyways lol. I’m sure Ubi wasn’t trying to do anything but respect Kendrick but he just made it better imo than Kendrick. Ubi and Godi just are way too talented
For everyone talking shit about Kendrick's version, if you listen to it in the context of the album it's about acting tough for others. Apparently the scene is that he's in a car freestyling & trying to impress friends. I mean the song after it is called "The Art of Peer Pressure." So think a little before blindly hating every mainstream rapper.
I like Kendrick's version, but I like Ubi's flow.
Old Gregg even old gregg likes ubi's flow better
"Don't make me cover your kitchen with plastic and do the Dexter" ...that reference though
Lol ikr that line was sick, i love Dexter too though
that was sick for some reason i started scrolling down the comments and right as i started reading "dont make me..." he started in the video " dont make me cover your kitchen ...." coincidence on timing haha. thought id share that rofl

Better than Kendrick. Hands down.
Better by light years. Hands up!
ok without kendrick, ubi would have had a rough time with this track. kendrick laid the format for the wordplay. its pretty much a parody. but ubi would stomp kendrick. #sorrynshit but big ups to both artist.
its called a remix.
Believe me, I love Ubi, but K.Dot is the best in the game right now... (Besides Tech since he's my all-time favorite) lol
Nah, El-P, Killer Mike, Aesop Rock, Pharoe Monch and a few others have them both beat. Also I think Kendrick is a lot better than tech
kendrick> tech. specifically, GKMC
The Mother-Faga lol imagine.. Tech is so much better, maybe kendrick can compare someday but he hasn't put in the work yet.. saying kendricks better than tech is a joke
hahahah fuck yes!!!!!!!!! way better than kendrick lamar
Man I love Kendrick Lamar but Ubi destroyed this song. For once the remake was better than the original.
brah i've been listening to tech since 2001 back when he was REALLY creative. anghellic and absolute power are still two of my favorite ever. it's simply not necessary to take the time to understand his lyrics when they're in black and white
Ubi is so awesome here at his best this been my shit for awhile he murdered this 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥺🥺🥺🥺🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏💯💯💯
Every good rapper ever started underground, and ubi murdered that freestyle... kendrick is the shit and i liked his first of course but everybody is sleepin on ces... wtf ever ces is dope!
give me a twelve hour version.
too
he emulated it. Quite well I might add. Plus we already know UBI is an excellent rapper in his own right
i love kendrick.. but ubi wins... his lyrics just work better... in my opinoin anyway, so no need throw a hissy fit other kendrick fans
DAMN ubi goes soooo fucking HARD!!! My god I can't believe I havn't heard of this guy and Godemis until now. Respect from Denver CO! 303.
Tchea shit's dope wish I could rap with him, Good sign Tech he's killin' it, keep up the great work. Mad Respect Homie.
"don't make me cover the kitchen with plastic and do the dexter" #mean
Aw man, Kendrick is dope but Ubi's flow and delivery is UNTOUCHABLE!
I feel so privileged to have found CES because everyone else is just missing out
Cant hate bc no one else took to next level like UBI.... DOPE!!!
ubi u gonna blow up just keep the flow right and u gonna make it and keep it
Ubi in the top 5 MCs to ever rock the mic
Yes
Yup
N he gets ALL THA HOT HOZz
Kendrick and Ubi should be on a track together, they're both incredible, it would be a sick track
If he altered his voice just a tad or atleast added hype chants in the back to give his best lines some "umph" this would KILL kendricks.
this shit is smashin my subwoofer. DOPE!
Harris Susan Hernandez Frank Thompson Richard
yeah that's what i love about Ces, they have that unique sort of beats, they fit perfectly on that, i'm a bigger goddi han Ubi fan. Together they make a strong case for Stange MVP this year :D
Love this bruz, I’m an aus rapper trying to get a feature of you. Hit me up if your keen, would love to work together
Looking forward to Constant Energy Struggle, 13 and their solo mixtapes were great

Ubi kills this song listen:
My brain is under the strain of the game got a loose connector Don't make me cover your kitchen with plastic and do the Dexter Your hopin', I'm chokin', my flow is so focused, my soul is so broken Now we rollin' slow motion sing
Might have me a new crush🙄 tee hee..
you realize what kendrick did right? that verse is gonna go down in history as the verse that started a new hip hop movement. he's telling all those guys to up their game, stop being lazy. you're gonna start hearing a lot of "diss" songs soon but it's all in fun; they're just beginning a new movement where they're all gonna start going their hardest. and kendrick has basically became the leader of this movement. he just cemented his spot in history last night.
yeah i wasn't gonna say it earlier because i didn't want to sound presumptuous, but when i think of strange music, i think hip hop for white people lol. and i'm white so that's not racist. and that's great that metal fans might get into this sort of hip hop, but that doesn't mean they should be naive about slower, more storytelling emphasized hip hop like black hippy, or nas, or hova, or whoever.
alright, i get that, i truly do. BUT... i've listened to tech and strange music for years. i've listened to k-dot since before he blew up. you've admitted you haven't heard a lot of kendrick so if you're truly about humbling yourself, you'll give gkmc a chance. but you'll have to transition your mindset because black hippy and strange music really aren't all that comparable, as we've argued all day lol.
yeah i know, he always mocks the industry in his songs. then he'll turn around and make a song about how the industry never pays him any attention. he needs to make up his mind. does he want to be independent or does he want the industry to give him some dap? it's not extremely hidden. it's just mundane. the only other artist i put up with who does shit like that is canibus, only because, once again, his superior technical ability is impressive.
that's a pretty lame bar if you ask me. one problem i have with tech is he tries too hard to emphasize his rhymes to the point they don't make sense. kendrick lamar's maad city: "this is cul-de-sac in plenty Cognac and major pain/not the drill sergeant but the stress that weighin' on your brain"
he's saying his town is full of drunks and gangsters. also, major pain is a reference to a movie with the same title, starring damon wayans (weighin'). double entendres that's the stuff that impresses me
lol dude... i understand it just fine. i don't think you quite grasp the concept of what it means to be lyrical in terms of hip hop. and that's a trait i often find with people who ride strange music's jock strap. for a third time, i'll point out the rap genius website. they barely even explain tech verses. why? because there's nothing to explain. there's no deep context. what you hear is what you get.
and you gotta listen to that album in full and really dissect it (again, rap genius can help you with that, it explains every line) to really get the full satisfaction. it's a short film basically about his struggles growing up in compton. swimming pools? everyone thinks it's a party/drinking song, but it's an anti-drinking song about him growing up with family members who were alcoholics. just because his lyrics are a little bit "simpler" doesn't mean you don't have to read between the lines
strange is gimmicky man and using complex wording doesn't mean you're a great story teller. worldwide choppers? love it. but is it elite lyricism? no. elite technical ability? yes. there's really no other way i can put this, but if you're strictly strange music for your hip hop, then you're probably not gonna get much out of any other type of hip hop. techa and co sometimes write good stories (such as the martini), but they aren't up to par with an album like GKMC.
well that just proves what I already figured. you're a strange music fan. strange music is great, but it's not really what most hip hop heads think of when they think, well, hip hop. the essence of hip hop is about trials and tribulations and overcoming obstacles. strange music touches on it occasionally but they're gimmicky for the most part. why are nas, jay-z, pac, biggie, big L, kool G, and wu members considered the best ever? good story tellers. kdot is a great story teller.
I love Ces Cru. The Playground album is fire. But Kendrick's body of work is much more impressive. OD mixtape is a detailed story. So is GKMC. You don't think Kendrick has detailed lyrics? Dude is the king of double and triple entendres. Use Rap Genius if you have to. And you Strange Music fans should love songs like Ignorance is Bliss, Rigamortis, and Maad City. And for the people like me who've taken the time to dissect and interpret GKMC know just how amazing that album is. It's Illmaticesque
Here's the deal : IT's a bad ass composition and re-edit of best takes of freestyles put in a sequence that brings into motion a cohesiveness and structure to bring about the illusion of a freestyle, but technically it's not a "freestyle, freestyle." from start to finish. But it's good and it's great material and I like his tone and his style and his delivery and his content. But it's a selection of the best freestyle segments and then re-edited and copied and pasted to create this material.
robot hype man was siccc
stooop. just stop. all you kendrick haters just love comparing him to the legends. kendrick is doing his own thing in his own original way. and we'll see how pusha's album is. and hell, even em's album since he went out of his way to give kendrick a shout out on berzerk. if we see a wave of great hip hop then yes, kendrick is the one to credit.
as far as the verses go, both went in pretty hard, but that's what kendrick wants. and kendrick only gave us an appetizer. i love slaughterhouse but kendrick would probably piss and shit all over joell. that being said it was pretty damn impressive of him to release a comeback not even 24 hours after control dropped. i'm just gonna sit back and witness history.
well that's pretty lame. hip hop is about getting a message across, and if no one is understanding wtf you're saying... then there's no point man. this isn't like rock or metal where you can churn out some ambiguous lyrics that might sound aesthetically pleasing (which is what ubi does well) but not have some impressionable context.
1. that's not what i meant when i said illmaticesque...
2. i've listened to all that stuff, and cesphiles volume 1
3. ubi has a very defined style. kendrick has easily the most versatility out of anyone in the game right now
4. originality and creativity? so good kid maad city wasn't creative? you need to do your homework brah.
He prayed his name would be bigger than Kid Cudi... Sorry to break it to you..
Godemis is always making poop references lol....Its kinda fucks up their songs when he does that shit (no pun intended)
no....no one goes to try and interpret tech's lyrics because more times than not they are in black and white and don't require interpretation. and yeah well i'm pretty sure your first comment was something along the lines of "if you listen to ces cru you'd know ubi is better". LOOOOL
like.. i don't know how anyone with any shred of knowledge of hip hop would be arguing this with me. it's pretty objectively clear k-dot is on a whole nother tier in terms of versatility and lyricism, and if you're going by his radio singles only then you're sadly mistaken. you baffle me dude lol
I know he came up with it on the spot but from a directive's perspective. I'll tell you they did probably about 10-50 different takes and then sifted through them to find the best ones and then copy and pasted them in a cohesive manner to make it flawless. But it's dope.... and I like it a lot...
They make very different types of music. Not really something you can compare when some people like booming singing voices and others prefer rapping. I like both, but Kid Cudi is my favorite artist of all time. Ubiquitous is my favorite rapper.
Antz k, you speakin real shit. mainstream artists dont give a fuck about their followers. but underground artists never forget where they from & 100% of the underground is real shit. look at 50 cent hes rappin bout sum1 else same goes for rick ross & freeway
I'm not really into rap music that much, but i actually like this song! I mean there's very few rapper's i like.
oh. i'm in to stuff like between the buried and me, the human abstract, dream theater... progressive stuff mostly. wayne was good in the late 90s. he's talented for sure. just likes his money more i guess lol.
i'm just of the opinion you shouldn't need a dictionary to be able to enjoy hip hop. i didn't think anyone was like that lol. save that for metal. speaking of which, i'm curious, what metal do you listen to?
For one, Kendrick has more of a mainstream mind as in his lyrics, Ubi just straight murdered the track with the intelligent prospective mind with his lyrics. Ubi's lyrics are more detailed and more illusive.
Hugh Ces Fan but i think the beat doesen't really match Ubi, It was good, but Kendricks' version is better, he just fits better on that beat...
but again, i'm dying of inpatience for their album to druop!!!
i remember that lasagna line. it's pretty clever actually. still has a shitballs delivery all throughout the carter iv lol. nas killed it on outro though. tech killed it on interlude too actually.
You realize Swimming Pools is an anti-drinking song right? Of course you don't. The fact that you've completely misinterpreted it makes me think you know nothing of K-Dot or hip hop in general.
Every single hater that has posted ,or will post some stupid comment hatin' on CES, has that thought in the back of their mind like " goddamn this boy is niceee" , so stfu .....#Technician
God damn this shit is sick. I can't believe that I didn't learn of CES cru until now,
Love Kendrick love ubi but really love Cudi, he's just too dope!!
im not gonna lie.. i dont like he did the hook. BUT HE FUCKIN KILLED EVERY VERSE!.. when it started i was like aww c'mooon really? then i was just like daaamn! O.O
Strange Music isn't about who's the best, its about the art. So all you haters can continue to be trapped in your own head. Live, love, laugh and rap music.
I know that. I was just trying to say Godemis should do a remix of the next track on the album which is "The Art Of Peer Pressure" which starts like that. :P
Ubi killed this beat. Strange Music is always on top. (:
its not a freestyle. it was already a song by Kendrick Lamar called Backstreet Freestyle and Ubiquitous from Ces Cru did his own thing on the same beat.
Why would the top comment be about telling someone to kill himself? Get real the comment section is for the video. With that said Ubi Killed it!!!!
um this freestyle is based off kendricks so obviously hes gona bite the flow a lil..go listen to the rest of his shit and come back and say he cant flow
and i can GUARANTEE you that kendrick won't sell out. lol you obviously don't listen to much of his music if you think he's going down that path.
what? the most important aspect of hip hop is the words so of course the hip hop heads pay attention. you're confusing rap with metal dude lol
I think you're confusing flow with technical ability. Ubi uses great technical ability in this song. Kendrick's flow is 10x better than Ubi's.
Why is everyone dissin kendrick? Just because we obviously like and support Ubi, talent is talent, it's not his fault he got voted best lyricist.
Woo, Ubi rips it again. Ces the best Cru
haha you are a fool, he wrote and recorded this all in the studio and then they made the video. Its awesome, but none of it is freestyled
this is way better than the kendrick lamar version, i had to listen to his after seeing all these comments and damn ubi killed it
Your comment makes no sense at all.
The whole point of this was to use the same flow as Kendrick... I don't understand your issue
He said it took him a day to do it then he flew to New York to shoot it... Backstreet Freestyle is just the name of the original song
This shit is dope it needs more views Kendrick has nothing on ubi this version is a lot fucking better :)
my brain is under the strain of the game, got a loose connector, don't make me cover yo kitchen with plastic and do the dexter
Notice the lyrics Ubi's have meaning Kendricks was just like every other mainstream rapper spittin about money and drugs
if you like shit that makes you grab a dictionary, then canibus is right up your alley, if you already haven't heard him.
ELEMENTARY ??? this is only a free style, listen to his mixtape. but what do you listen to that makes him look elementary?
Big flex
Like all biceps
Say my name
Get
Choked out
they're both awesome like them for who they are. Bottom line is Ubi is a lyrical acrobat you can tell the difference.
maybe go look up some more Ces cru on youtube... I found several videos of them freestyling... and they do it well.
Well done Ubiquitous._
Keep it up.

You don't solidify your spot in hip hop history with one verse. Your body of work is what immortalizes you. SMH
sorry n shit but STRANGE gonna run the game too many hot mcs hookin up wit TECH N9NE im fuk$in wit them hard
Since I am real strange fan I don,t hate or compare any rapper to any other rapper even if they are better
Super dope, just don't go slim shady on us n start talkin about killin Kim n what not
the name of the original song is actually backseat freestyle, and ubi bit hella fuckin hard on this btw
Love ubi but I think he should have used more of his own flow in this song. still really good tho
