As a new vegan, I really appreciate you providing us with this info. I love Trader Joe’s Garlic Spread and I can’t wait to pick up some items. Great Job
Congratulations on making one of the best decisions for and of your life!! I've been Vegan for over 2 years and I feel amazing each and every day; where as, before, I was in constant daily pain from a multitude of different health issues. My issues have now all vanished naturally without the need for medications or surgical procedures and I feel completely balanced! Continue asking questions and seeking support! We are always here for you!! Much love, peace and blessings always~ xoxox
The Cherry chocolate chip ice cream is amazing, my favorite vegan ice cream hands down! I melt some dark chocolate with a splash of nut milk in a small sauce pan and pour it on top with some walnuts. SO GOOD!
Thank you for showing the vegan crackers and cookies. I always tend to overlook those, so this video was especially helpful. I go to my local TJ's at least once a week so I've noticed they have a couple of new items: Thai spicy eggplant (purchased but haven't tried yet), vegan jackfruit cakes (crabless cakes) and the Thai tea mini mochi, all of which are in the frozen section. My current faves that were not mentioned are the riced cauliflower stir fry, Japanese fried rice, vegetable biryani with vegetable dumplings, and their harvest chili. Thumbs up to their kale cashew & basil pesto! I also love their mochi dairy-free desserts--so many flavors to choose!
Trader Joe's is a great place for vegans. If you don't have a Trader Joe's but you have an Aldi nearby check them out. Aldi is owned by the Trader Joe's people, and they're working to expand their vegan selections. 2 weeks ago I bought organic bananas at Aldi for 59¢ a lb.
Well I had read a story that brothers split as partners, one made Trader Joe's, the other kept Aldi's and for years they just used different territories.
Amy is right... they are completely different. We just had one open up and I’m not a fan. They are more affordable than regular stores, but I found organic and vegan options lacking, hopefully that changes. They also don’t have the unique fun items that Trader Joe’s offers
@@drfrogpepper405 in my area we had two open in the past few years, and Aldi certainly feels more like a cheap cut rate store(to me). Also I dislike that I basically have to hope they'll have items, where as at Trader Joe's I can almost find everything all the time, marshmallows and the pumpkin spice coffee seem to be the most seasonal items I've found that I buy. Overall I feel like I like the dependability, vegan option and organic option TJ's offers over Aldi's inability to offer the same amount and quality of options.
Aldi was originally one store in Germany but the two brothers ended up splitting it into Aldi Nord (North) and Aldi Sud (South). Both have Aldi stores all over Europe now. The Aldi Nord company bought Trader Joe’s in 1979 but operates them independently from Aldi Nord stores. Aldi Sud owns all of the US Aldi stores. So in the US Aldi and Trader Joe’s are somewhat related but not owned by the same parent company.
I'm not in the U.S but am pleased to see companies actually stating VEGAN on the label for once...means the UK will probably be copying this in the next few years haha
I tend to not be impressed by most frozen meals, but I will say I really enjoy their vegetable panang curry and the vegan Tikka masala, you should give them a try! Not very "healthy" perse, but a nice treat once in awhile in a pinch. Also I love the chocolate coconut ice cream, I'll top it with some warm slivered almonds and sweetened coconut flakes that I've freshly dry toasted in a skillet. Heavenly!
These videos are perfect for Veganuary! I imagine newbies to veganism will find these types of videos incredibly useful. You should link your other ones in the description. :)
Trader Joe's does a great job of labeling their vegan options. Thanks for the extra checking on the ones that were vague. I would like to try those Nugs, but no Wegman's near me. Another great video! 🌱☮💚
Next time, pick up a container of the Cashew Fiesta Dip - when warmed up, it’s a hot and melty queso cheese dip. So delicious! Here’s an article from VegNews so you can see the container. Located in the section with the pesto and garlic dip. vegnews.com/2018/12/trader-joes-debuts-vegan-queso-dip
I love those soft baked snickerdoodles! They're so good. My favorite vegan Trader Joe's project is the chorizo, though, I grew up on chorizo and it is a perfect replacement in all the recipes I used to love.
I love that you live in my area because I know whatever you feature is the same stores that I shop at. So many times I watch vegan food hauls and the stores don't all carry the same items. THANK YOU!
That pesto is so worth it! I've used it as a base sauce in pasta dishes, on potatoes, pizzas, etc - it's really good! Also, a fun spin on traditional focaccia - in place of all the cheese/butter - use this pesto, load up on some "parmesan" spinach and tomatoes - is really good!
The Vegan Kale Cashew and Basil Pesto is amazing! I mix it with Trader Joe's regular hummus to make a pesto hummus and dip their pita chips for a snack.
I use the Kale Pesto as a base for my Greek pita pizzas. Super delicious I also like as a quick base with pasta, Greek olives, sliced grape tomoatoes and the FYH parmesan cheese.
I just tried the Aldi's pesto and the Trader Joe's one is way better. I will have to get up there so we can get some new stuff to try out. Thanks again for doing this. It always helps me to find new products.
The Peanuts go on a date bars got my attention (perhaps mostly because of the awesome title) but all things chocolate and peanuts always do. I have to agree. I'm getting hungry just by watching.
Love that more companies are putting the "vegan" stamp on the front or the side of their products. It definitely saves a lot of time scanning ingredient labels.
The pesto and green dressing are both awesome! They’re staples at my house! The high protein burger tastes like a chicken patty from my childhood. I like it chopped up on a salad, not so much as a burger.
I was just at Trader Joe's yesterday and picked up a Cashew Fiesta Dip (dairy free cheese dip alternative) and a premade frozen Spicy Thai Eggplant. I haven't tried the dip yet but got to sample the eggplant in store and it was good but definitely has a kick to it! I didn't see the turkey roast though which I really wanted to try. 🙁
My daughter loved the cheese dip, I thought it was just ok. Update on the eggplant stuff... The sample I had in the store was in no way indicative of the actual spice level. That stuff damn near killed me!! Tears were shed and I could not finish it.
I thought the cashew fiesta do was not amazing like the pesto. I did try making my own version of the pesto. My husband loved it, even took it to work with him with his lunch. Recipe said you could freeze extra, lol!
My local Trader Joe’s is in a shopping center so it’s really small. We definitely need a bigger one around here! By the way, try the cherry chocolate chip ice cream. It’s amazing
You gotta try the sunflower seed butter cups. They taste pretty close to reeces peanut butter but are made with sunflower. They are vegan and are made with dark chocolate. And they are reasonably prices. Justins dark peanut butter cups are $1.99 for two. TJ's sunflower seed butter cups are 99cents for two.
I always have some Trader Joe's "Force Primeval Bars" on hand. Basically a cinnamon roll with raisins and walnuts. Good balance of taste and healthiness. Also, minimal number of ingredients. A little dry though, unless you eat them with a banana or apple, for example.
That panang curry is really good. I'm not close to Trader Joe's but whenever I was near one I would stop in and grab a couple of those and a few of the noodle soup.
The jalapeño almond dip is, in my opinion, a really nice cream cheese substitute. Pretty spicy though. Dunno if you’ve tried the Herb Popcorn, but it’s a mighty fine vegan snack. Also the Montezuma’s 100% cacao chocolate bar is intensely flavorful without being sweetened at all. Also also, Sky Valley Heirloom oranges are in season and they’re the most delicious citrus on planet earth. Thanks for the video!
I was super excited to find vegan marshmallows last time I was in Trader Joe's! Great video, I don't get to go to one often, so it's great to see what I should plan ahead for. Thank you:)
The Almond Spread and the Vegan Pesto are both awesome. I've used them many times for different things. Even my kids like it. :) I actually think Trader Joe's Vegan Cream Cheese is better than most. It's delicious sprinkled with their Everything But the Bagel seasoning or the 21 Seasoning Salute.
@@vonnie959 Is great with pasta, I love it and use it all the time you can just make your pasta and literally put the pesto sauce called on it and mix it up and it warms it and makes a great easy dish
I just found out that there is a Trader Joe's an hours drive from my house. Maybe I will start making the drive once per month, if I can find something else to do in that area--just so I make the most of my time and money for the drive. Thanks for another great video.
Excellent video. I usually cook and make everything from scratch and I don't live close to a Trader Joe's due the fact the closes Trader Joe's is about 100 mile in distant . However, this video enticed me I will be visiting Trader Joe in the near future. Because preparing food all the time I need a brake.
I really enjoyed this. 🙂 There is an Aldi’s, Walmart,Kroger, Fresh Thyme,& Meijers in my area. I went to Aldi’s after your last video to try the vegan dips & nondairy cheese products. I never knew sugar was processed with bones, I thought it was a naturally Vegan ingredient just like fruit, vegetables, grains,or fungi. It’s good they have more options for people with celiac disease.
I love that Trader Joe’s has a list of all vegan product available for customers at customers service. It makes it really easy. Same for soy and gluten. I’m really allergic to soy
I love your relationship with Trader Joe’s! Haha. I like Trader Joe’s for some things! 😎 But when they say their cheese is “dairy free” and then in the ingredients, there’s milk casein, it pisses me off. It’s so terribly misleading. And yes, I do realize they have the Vegan Cheese. But still.
I have been buying a coconut milk yogurt at TJ's as well. I believe it's also vegan and very good! I went to Costco yesterday and saw a cashew based vegan dip, I think chipotle flavor. They also have Hippeas (similar to cheesy poofs) made with vegan white cheddar. Thank you for your video on the new Aldi products. I hit them up yesterday and got several of the items to try. They were out of the queso, which I was sad about but I might try another store nearby. Thanks for all the updates!! I think it's awesome that there are more and more vegan options in the grocery stores!
By the way I live in England and not in a city (far from it! )I find it really hard to get vegan products but your videos gives me the inspiration to try and make my own. By the way I live in a village called Minions (like the cartoon characters)
I loved going there when I was in the US....I miss this place so much! It's great to see that you can find many vegan products !!I wish I had the Earth balance vegan butter in my country, soooo good. Everything looks interesting !!!!
For those of us avoiding oil, it would be really helpful if you showed both the nutrition label (so we can see how much fat there is) and the ingredients. It can be quick; as you said, we can pause the video. Thanks!
I've been told by Trader Joes that even though products aren't labeled as vegan because of the sugar, they said the sources of sugar change all the time so some batches may be vegan and some not. Because it changes, they don't label the products as vegan.
I always have the trader joes garlic spread in my fridge. I love it!!! Also, that vegan pesto they have is delicious. You need to try it on some pasta!! So good!
I wish we had a Wegmans! I don't think my Trader Joe's has all those options. Its relatively small and I have never noticed, but now I will take a look!
Thanks for the video featuring all the new items, Chris. I will definitely have to check them out as I had NOT noticed the V on their products. I have tried the new salad dressings and they were really good. Also tried the Kale Cashew Pesto. It’s pretty good but I still prefer basil. Nice to see they have vegan mozzarella as I have been wanting to make some pizza with your recipe! 🌱👍🏻😊
Trader Joe’s also has Japanese vegitable and tofu fried rice ...omg, it’s delicious! Oh, and they have vegitable friend rice...also Vegan. Both are in the frozen packaged rice section. The pesto is one of my faves! Delicious!
yes those frozen rice packages are great for when you don't have a lot of time to cook I usually buy them every time I go to trader Joe's and of course the pesto too 😁
I am no longer lucky enough to have a Trader Joe’s ever since I moved to North West Arkansas... it makes me so sad, I grew up shopping there and have even worked at one!!! Boy do I miss it... whenever we go to St. Louis or Kansas City I make it a point to go lol. Unfortunately no cold stuff, hopefully we can have one that’s closer than 3 hours soon.
That vegan banana bread is delicious I’ve purchased two already this week. I normally make my own I had vegan chocolate chips so when I’m lazy and I don’t want to bake I get It from Trader Joe’s. Now they’ve added walnuts throughout the whole banana bread. Oh my god so good
You gotta try the Chocolate Covered Cherry ice cream and the fruit bars. They are both really good! I tried the pesto and didn't care for it but it may just be me.... It was my first time trying pesto ever so it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't be willing to try it again.
As a new vegan, I really appreciate you providing us with this info. I love Trader Joe’s Garlic Spread and I can’t wait to pick up some items. Great Job

Trader Joe’s also has Japanese vegitable and tofu fried rice ...omg, it’s delicious! Oh, and they have vegitable friend rice...also Vegan. Both are in the frozen packaged rice section. The pesto is one of my faves! Delicious!
yes those frozen rice packages are great for when you don't have a lot of time to cook I usually buy them every time I go to trader Joe's and of course the pesto too 😁
The brownie crisps are good! You should do a haul or review at Sprouts!
Oh my god so good
Thumbs up! The Trader Joe's kale pesto dip is YUMMY!!!!!
That cherry ice cream is worth it for you to try. You won't be disappointed. :)
It's so good! And way cheaper than Cherry Garcia.
The pesto is a must try!
yes!!
You gotta try the Chocolate Covered Cherry ice cream and the fruit bars. They are both really good! I tried the pesto and didn't care for it but it may just be me.... It was my first time trying pesto ever so it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't be willing to try it again.
Do the soyrizo with beans (home made not canned) and add a little bit of chipotle to it its the best !!!!!
The basil cashew pesto sounds delicious!
It's really good I buy one each time I'm at trader Joe's and it is so simple just makes it on your favorite pasta and you have a quick easy meal 🤔
