Very good information indeed concerning a HDMI to RCA converter. Many modern have RCA inputs but very rarely rca outputs. We have a 7.1 receiver for films etc but for more everyday use we have a older RCA centric Sony 5.1 receiver. Using such a convertor to tap a Audio feed from the TV via a hdmi socket is a much better option than from a 3.5mm headphone output.
Great info Roger. I have a remote power switch hooked up to my Marantz 2220b. I also have a Wiim streamer connected to a Schiit DAC connected to the Aux in. I have a headphone amp in the tape monitor loop with remote volume control. All of a sudden my 50 year old receiver has all the conveniences I need.
Thanks for posting That's a great system you have, I'm a big fan of Schiit audio products and their DACs are a good sonic match for old Marantz receivers. I bet you have some nice speakers too!!
This is great, I've got an old Sansui G 4500 I'd love to do this only thing is I'm using a Ruku streaming box on my tv and it's plugged into HDMI so any way I can get this to work with set-up like this

Since I started this channel 2 years ago I was wondering if anyone would ever ask me about DIN plugs. 2.3million views later, you are the first!! My first stereo used these plugs back in the seventies and I've tried to avoid them ever since. As you are observing the tape record output is much lower level and needs amplifying you'll need something with at least 25dB gain and low noise. Phono preamps are not suitable due to the equalization, but this one looks like it is straight gain and should work, though I haven't tested it. amzn.to/41FE9nS

I own a vintage stereo equipment and that's a reason for that. I want this equipment to be original vintage. Otherwise I would have bought something modern, but I don't like the modern trash.
You are not alone. Others here have expressed a similar sentiment. I love the classic older equipment too especially tube amps and horn speakers. That is why It bothers me to see so much great audio sitting in basements and garages or worse being sent to landfills. The more people who enjoy classic audio the better, and that can include people who get all their music from phone apps and RUclips.
Sorry but the modern features you speak of are often simply for the lazy. Really they are frequently woosie, completely lame. Give me a classic receiver or integrated amp and a turntable plus tape decks both cassette and reel to reel. Top it off with a high quality CD player. Then again I like owning my music sources. 🙂
Never have to say sorry on this channel! It's all about what you enjoy. I like owning my own music sources too but I keep it in digital form. Most music recorded since the 1980s was recorded and mastered in digital so Hi Res digital is the most pristine format for our homes for modern recordings. The easiest way to access these files it is with a streamer and high quality DAC all controlled from a smartphone. Unfortunately even the older recordings have usually been digitally remastered these days, so good for you for hanging on to that original vinyl and old reel to reel, it's priceless.

Yes it does sound lovely, almost as good as the restored Fisher X200 tube amp from 1962 that I have, the sound of that is magical.

I have a 70s nikko trm 750 with din plugs. I got a din to 4 rca adapter to connect the s10+ but i get very low output. Any tips ? Thanks!

I have one hooked to my Mac4100. you get the origial vintage sound with modern day tech its the perfect set up
