  • Does modesty even matter? Hello friends! In this video, I talk about how I got introduced to modest fashion and my struggle with it as I grew up! I know dressing modestly isn't easy, especially when no one around you is doing so. For me that lead to bullying and it felt like I could never fit in! But I hope you know that you are not alone! And I'd love to share my experiences with how I learned to dress modestly and fashionably so that you don't have to go through the same struggles I went through growing up! Please leave a comment below about your journey with modesty, as I'm sure many would love to hear your story as well! Please consider subscribing and thanks for watching!

*The main problem with us as humans regarding physical modesty is that we view our bodies (nudity) as being inherently sexual. This is a false premise for the following reasons...*
*Bathing, changing clothes, childbirth, breastfeeding, sleeping, going to a sauna, getting a massage (at a spa), nurturing the elderly, nurturing the handicap ♿, locker rooms (for athletes).*
*All of these things require (or can involve) nudity but have nothing to do with anything sexual. Why? Because nudity isn't inherently sexual, it's only looked at like that because we make it sexual. So we can't assume that someone showing skin (not necessarily completely nude) is sexualising themselves so we can't say that you can "cause someone to lust" by not dressing "modestly".*

Been there. Growing up I always dressed in clothes that made me stand out in a way I didn't like. Ultimately that lead to a break from Modesty, but then I rediscovered it about a year ago. And this time, it was modesty with a twist ❤️

God created us to be fully naked with NO SHAME and it was only when we started playing our own game that we started viewing our bodies as disgraceful. 99% of clothing has nothing to do with trying to be provocative, it's just the person wearing what makes them comfortable. *But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7*
*Nowhere in the Bible does it say that our bodies cause others to sin, that's a misinterpretation. The Bible is clear that our bodies are made in God's image and, because of that, we're the crown jewel of His creation. That's why there was no shame in nudity but we've lost sight of that but that doesn't mean that truth changes. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus is the same yesterday and today and tomorrow so if He thought our bodies were shameless yesterday, He still believes this today. Yes we have to cover certain areas of our bodies when we're in public because we'll get arrested for indecent exposure if we don't but clothing isn't God's creation nor was it ever intended by Him so it's not a priority of His. 1 Samuel 16:7 says WE LOOK AT PHYSICAL APPEARANCE WHILE GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART ❤ and that couldn't be any more true. David, Esther, Isaiah and Adam and Eve (before the fall) were all elevated when they embraced their natural beauty (bodies) so our bodies are not shameful "stumbling blocks", they're glorious elevation tools.*

Since I got married, I sincerely don't want other men looking at me, only my husband. So I've been dressing modestly for a couple years now and it's amazing. I actually make more friends too. Weird how that works but my work life is more rewarding too. Hard to explain. Women don't see me as some kind of threat to them or as their competition so people are more open to me.

@@starhunter9085 Well, I'd like for that to be the case but it's not reality, especially when you are not super outgoing and you have a body type that's very attractive to men. You are prone to deal with bitchy women and gazing eyes and when you're young it's no big deal but when you get older you get tired of the unnecessary drama. Tbh, not everyone has the same experience but I know that it makes me feel good to cover my body so that only my husband can enjoy it.

I really love this. I was also raised in a conservative Christian homeschooling family and I always felt like I never fit in with the other kids. Only my fight was with my dad, not my mom! I felt like he was trying to dress me as an old lady and it took a long time for me to see that wasn't the case. I now have two daughters of my own and I do try to encourage them to dress modestly--only I try to make it about functionality instead. I feel like a lot of modern fashion isn't meant for living life...it's for sitting somewhere and letting people look at you. How are you going to swim and run around and enjoy yourself at the beach if you're wearing a bikini that you're constantly adjusting? Just saying. Anyways. So glad you created this channel...I will definitely be watching for tips!

So at some point we can’t keep saying “it’s natural” yes we were born naked BUT this world is so sinful now so we have to protect ourselves. The thought of someone lusting over me sickens me. There’s men who say they lust all day every day. If i can do something about it then i will. It’s my conviction, I choose not to reveal my body to the world because it isn’t for this world full of lust. I still wear shorts & my arms show but I personally wouldn’t wear just a swimsuit (because i wouldn’t dare wear bra a panties outside and it’s the exact same thing) nor would i have my stomach showing. You were blessed to be placed in a family that protected you from the world, so that you could concentrate on studying, and at the right time, when you were older you could make your own choices. There is a need for more small companies to develop what many want, modest clothing that is stylish, unique and trendy at the same time. We know that the Lord wants women to be modest. I feel badly for boys in regular school, how they concentrate with all these girls showing so much skin.
