- Perfume Heritage of India, Episode 2: Making of Attar Shamama by a legendary perfume family of Kannauj, UP. S Md. Ayub Md. Yaqub Perfumers were established in 1896 and are World Famous for their perfumes like Mohsin Shamama & Malik Shamama.
Shamama is a traditional perfume made with wild spices, flowers and aromatic woods. Best for Cold to pleasant weather.

I have just come across your videos and am really inspired and encouraged by your desire to reclaim the recognition of the local perfume industry. Seeing those traditional methods just makes me hope that it is NEVER replaced by modern tech. There is a certain charm and authenticity when done the way it has been done for centuries.

While experienceing the dedication, and preservation of traditional way of making of perfume by these whole unit and their owner I salut them. You would not believe, I used it in winters for over 20 years...!!!!!!
And the quality remained so great.!!
In my opinion, for lovers of real itra, Md.Ayub Yakub is Mecca of Itra.

Pushkar me kaafi gulab ki kheti hoti h. But I don't know if there are distilleries as well.

You can see the hard work of the people in and outside the plant for conserving this heritage of India. most of my friends also are not using attars because they can't afford it. But a single bottle can be used more times than buying multiple perfumes at the same price. Shamama Attar is a speciality of Kannauj. I bought it last week from an office store- www.kannaujattar.com/product/shamama-attar/ and it really makes me feel unique and stand out from the crowd,
