great flight I know it's a model airplane but just like the full scale plane you can over speed the gear, this was a big problem with the old CZ T-28 , gear up the second the wheels leave the ground . BEAUTIFUL PLANE !!
Nice! Very realistic in the air, and a gorgeous landing. But you do need an air-to-ground repeater for the turn-and-slip indicator, the nose looked way above the tail in those turns.
Very nice first landing. I used to own a T-28A. You are right it is a heavy airplane but it is very light on the controls. Your model looks like it flies just like the real one. Oh by the way, the lower the voltage, the GREATER the amperage flow will be.
Dead right, most people aren't aware of the equation E=I x R, Voltage equals Current multiplied by Resistance so if the voltage drops, the Resistance remains the same, then the current in Amperes has to rise to equalise the equation.
My friend and bud that is a very serious plane you have created. The T28 is one of my fav birds and they fly so nice. Excellent flight your the best at custom and my Avengers Al-37 is still looking great on my wall. Thanks again Brendan 👍👍👍👍👍
Holly Molly, that sounded friggin orsum. What a great flights with a butter landing. Hope you get to the bottom of the landing gear. Great plane Brendan. 🫡
I think I am good with the gear. Flipped the dip switch to a lower voltage. There is a brief clip in the middle of that vid I cut in. Gear is up and it’s hauling azz
Love it! I’m more partial to the red and white scheme but the yellow is good too. The radial sounds amazing, totally jealous but I can’t believe the weight of this. Can’t wait to watch the build videos. I built the Seagulls Decathlon based off your videos and I love that plane. Put a GP76 in that and it pulls it around nicely but I’ll bet you DA100 is just a bit better. Keep your the great content Brendan, love the channel!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I do really like the red and white myself. The underside of this now looks like it was from ww2 so the white would weather itself amazingly
Nice display flight and thank you for your video you have made! U said something like less volt, less ampere but that shouldnt be the way to go. Normaly its less voltage more amps and more voltage less amps i think. Just from the point of an electrician. Whish you the best and some nice flights and landings aswell though the season! Have a good one dude
Unfortunately I get that comment a lot and when dealing with dc,, voltage and amperage are proportional. Ohms law proves it in the math. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Always just trying to share the hobby
@@JustPlaneCrazy hmm. I learned it that way. I= P/U and to me that means that the current increases when the voltage decreases. Because the motor of your retracts has a fixed certain power. So if we assume that the motor has a power rating of 20 watts, a voltage of 8V results in a current of 2.5 A (20W / 8V) and a voltage of 6V (20W / 6V) results in a current of 3.3A. And this formula is also used on DC. Now i am a little bit confused :D
Definitely a nice plane and I can't take anything away from you. You commented on the weight, and from my chair it looks like it flies that way too. How much weight did you need to move aft to hang that UMS 180 on it? I question if even a prop change would take that out of it? As a caveat, I have been around and worked on T-28's. There is nothing in the empennage of a T-28; the only thing that was ever back behind the rear seat was two radio boxes, and those had long been ripped out. Every pilot I have ever talked to who trained in the T-28 said, that if you spin one of these planes you'll think the tail fell off of it.
Congratulations on the maiden! Beautiful job. Could you please tell me how you set up your fuel pump? Did you mix it using a curve with throttle position, have it at a fixed percentage at all times, or something else? Thanks in advance!!!
Very good engine and model, I have a 125 cc Ums, beautiful engine. I would like use on the Dr1 Fokker. You use the baffle or deflector? Thank you. ciao
I got me the 2 meter Eflite T28. I've set her up with ESSair engine sound, Master Airscrew 3-blade prop, nose wheel landing light, redundant 5V power supplies and reverse thrust. Nowhere as nice as your bird, but she's a real joy to fly!
Excellent, well done mate that looks awesome in the air. First flight it looked quite twitchy on ailerons. Hope you got the gear and doors sorted. Those are taking a lot of time on mine and using 20kg savox minis for the doors so should be ok with those. If mine comes in under the magic 25 kg / 55lb number I'll be very happy. The UMS 180 is something I have to get running and learn about as this is my first big radial. I bought the vario prop so can fine tune to suit.
@@JustPlaneCrazy yes if I did not have the Corsair already I’d of got it. I’m excited for the new little 30cc P-47. Gonna try a Ephil 38 with brushless starter
Unfortunately not. Amps and volts are directly proportional. Ohms law proves it. E over I = R 7.4v divided by say 2ohms = 3.7a 6.0v divided by the same 2ohms = 3a Volts go down so does amperage
@mugurelmanea that’s helpful. Thank you I will I could find a 27 since I went with a three blade but I would only be able to go to a 26. I think that’s too small
No NO No, Less Voltage means more current for the same Power output (Watts, P=VI) in fact this is what Telsa do with their wiring in e-car cars, increase the car voltage from 12 to 80 Volts or whatever, the current is then much reduced and the guage of your wire can me much reduced, ie thinner and less costly.
Unfortunately I have had this discussion too many times in this thread. Simply apply ohms law to DC which is what we are using. Amps and voltage are proportional with the same resistance. Look up an ohms law calculator and plug in easy numbers. I am not wrong. Use 7.2v and 2 ohms resistance answer 3.6a Use 6.0v and 2 ohms resistance answer is 3a
@@JustPlaneCrazy power has to be the same, 18W v over 21W, not a valid comparison, inversely proportional, not proportional. If U up either the voltage or current for the same power output then the other value must decrease. Thanks.
First off, the sound is out of this world, and number 2, the landing, oh my Lord!
U make me blush
Well, if you ever make it down south I’m vice president of the Palm Beach RC club. You’re always welcome there.
@garyhoffman9423 that’s awesome thanks. I was actually just down there last month for some vacation time
Agreed, great sound,
Take off was pretty shmick also, nice and slow not the usual open the throttle and pull back hard.
I flew T-28s in the Navy and this model is so sweet to watch and hear. Well done!
Thanks. It’s an awesome model
great flight I know it's a model airplane but just like the full scale plane you can over speed the gear, this was a big problem with the old CZ T-28 , gear up the second the wheels leave the ground . BEAUTIFUL PLANE !!
Yes. Two things I noticed with the gear. Put it up higher and slower and change of the voltage dip switch on the controller

Congratulations Brenden
Wow look at you go !!!!❤️
Actually, I don't like electric RC planes. This is so refreshing, old school flying. The "Real Thing" . A great build and oh yes, that sound!
Thanks for watching. I am a fan of burning the dinosaur juice
Great job on this build and flying was very safe for the madien.
I was worried about being too high for filming but I needed to be high in case of dead stick. It’s a heavy bird
Beautiful, nothing more to say. Congratulations!
Thank you

One thing I noticed is the gear doors should stay open when the gear is down
