Great pick! I wanted him badly for the Hawks. It'll be interesting watching him in the KHL if gets to play there. Like we saw with Bedard, all that fancy deeking around bums goes quickly out the window. He'll be a good one though.

@@HockeyNationLiveShowAbsolutely! But I do however, think the Hawks got a great pick although not as sexy, lol. I think Levshunov has been under-sold on RUclips when two months ago, he was a top of the crop defensively. Great show! Can't wait too see more Demidov stuff but with a heavy heart.

I enjoyed the detailed breakdown of his skating. His undefendable skills will lead to NHL players running at him. I can't imagine a world where Brad Marchand doesn't lick the poor kid. ...If he drops to 5th, we should draft him; if not Lindstrom is a good pick. The trouble is that both could be off the board by the time the Habs pick.

Hawks need to get him they can move up with the 20th pick and draft a defenseman high next year with one of their two First round draft picks they aren’t gonna be good for like another 3-4 years
Very true. They really like Levshunov but you are right. They could get Jiricek Hutson Elick and others in the late 1st round. Thanks for your comment
I think the choice is definitely between Deminov and Leshunov for the Hawks
Based on this scouting, there are definite questions about Deminov's skating, durability, and defense. Add in question about his quality of opposition. HE is not going to skate for teams prior to the draft, only do im person interviews despite the opportunity in florida before the draft. Based on the more physical nature of the NHL, and the fact the KHL didn't keep him up, there are more questions. Plus there is a getting out of Russia issue that has raised even more questions league wide for Russian players in general. Is he a flash in the pan, a solid scorer for a few years, or a 10 year NHL centerpiece? I don't know
Or a Lower risk with a slightly lower ceiling with Leshunov. HE played in the NCAA in a great conference against great talent.
I think his worst will be a top 4 D for the next decade, and at best a top 10 D in the nhl. You could add the premium of his R hand shot makes him a rare commodity that even as a 4th D will bring higher trade in the future if he doesn't pan out.
