I found one of your videos that you said you were in Indiana can you tell me where? as I don't have
ANY fish clubs around my area & the chain stores aren't that close either & looking to buy some
NEW breed of what's called mutt guppies or endlers, nothing fancy just something new for the
ones I already have to change the strain out with every now & then.
Hi I'm new and just a few years the virus aquarium crazy. At the moment saving for a 1.50lx60hx70d aquarium, build myself.
I have a few questions:
1: I want a group of Crossoleichus Latius, freshwater. Can these fish live on the way as you do with your fish. Just mother nature does the most work.
2: do you know a species that could live together with Crossoleichus Latius.
Great videos and going to buy some books for research also.
Hope you could answer my questions 😊
Gr from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Great way to inspire new people Lucas! Nice one brother. :-)
Love the black sand and plants look
My favorite guppy is also my favorite drink. The Tequila Sunrise Delta Guppy.
Thank you Lucas, im broke right now but need more space for my guppies, this will help me do it on a budget without compromising their health.
Love how natural ur tanks look.
I like how some guys in the hobby have plants in all there tanks.
I keep Endlers with lots of orange, black bars and a little turquoise, false orange double swords. They very much resemble the wild type although they are most likely hybridised. Sometimes they drop specimen with partial snakeskin pattern and even a single peacock spot (ocellaris) behind their peduncle. They live in a tiny 5 gl. tank on my window sill. Access and culls go into the big tank with Severum cichlids who especially eat smal youngs and the colourful males. The females mostly manage to survive in that tank. Greetings from Germany. :)
I love my Blue Hawaiian Moscow Guppies! They are sooo pretty! Love the video!
I been wandering with this topic for so long
This was when I was in my epiphany stage
Needed to share something cool I found today, went out for the first time today to collect mosquito larva and I found Red Cherry Shrimp in my 150gal tub I use to raise all things aquatic in the warmer months. I didn't know RCS could tolerate frozen water, however, I suspect the decomp at the bottom might have generated enough natural heat to help them survive, I do have some aquarium plants that always survive winter outside. I did check the water Temp and it was 58F 2 males and 1 berrried female an she was really dark almost black in color but lightened as I slowly brought them to temp, yes I did bring them in and plan to check daily for more but they seemed fine so I might leave any more that I find, hopefully night time temp will be up soon here in Oklahoma.
Yeah they are hardy! I have seen them crawling slowly under ice outside before.
Tiger and Black bar endlers are my personal favorites.
This method is extremely tempting!
It’s easier than people think. I’ve built a whole fish room around it.
@@LRBaquatics does it take longer to cycle?
@@tomfasano9082 it could depend on your water. City water is more chemical used and sterilized which may take longer to cycle. With my well water at my new place I set tanks up that day. I have a few cycling videos if you RUclips search LRB cycle should pop up.
Hi Martin from Amager, Denmark.
Think the short videoes are great.
I’m educated, intertained and gets a little bit of relaxing zen to, when I see them.
Great work Lukas. Keep up the spirit 🙂
I love the platinum chili dumbos!
Wow thanks for the information.
It's really help me much.
I just came back to the aquarium hobby after a 30 year hiatus. I used to keep guppies but became disenchanted with them due to over-population. I just don't have the heart to cull the excess. I feel so guilty afterwards. I don't have problems feeding worms and daphnia to my fish. It's just euthanizing fish that gets to me. Still, your video makes me want to get them again. They are beautiful and fun to watch.
Lucas you're soooo real I truly enjoy your videos!
My current favorites are solid colors. blue and white.
All of your videos are a pleasure to watch, natural is the way to go...... Always learning something new. THANKS
Excellent video.
Great video with good information. Many hobbyists forget that fish produce CO2. All my tanks have lots of plants and fish to stay in balance. Of course I get algae too but it is part of nature and shouldn't be thought as a failure. In nature there is always algae in all water ways. Unfortunately we try to make our aquariums like perfect pictures but that is not the way nature is. Thanks again for your work.
So true!
so you saying guppies DON'T need aeration & the PLANT'S keep the water clean
wow that's amazing thank you for the info & here I am worried my guppies didn't
have enough filtration or air in there tank or when the power goes out all I need is the plants
to keep everything in sequence & balanced out WHAT A CONCEPT.
New to Endlers, and bought a trio of wild Rio Morichal Endlers this past weekend. They are also called “orange line” Endlers for the orange stripe laterally across the males body.
Cool didnt know they had a name. I remember you talking about them.
Great video. Thank you. Subscribed as well.
6 month old endler colony w/ mystery snail juveniles. Rotating the snails to limit their size having lower bio & more effective at cleaning vs. adults. Endler leaning hybrid (size/temperament). Stellar colors & hopefully stabilize the line within a yr.
I truly believe the hybrid knocks out spine problems & the classic endler dorsal hump. Still wondering if the hump is sexual dimorphism or a spine problem but I do not like it. Ruthlessly culling for spines, color and size.
This tank matured so quickly with algae on the glass only! Also added endlers to a 1.5 yr old tank (algae & problems always). Balanced right out! Thought it was other factors. Now I know!
Thanks!!!
nice information
That fish at about 5:36 with the glowing blue top fin and the bright green and orange down the side is awesome looking.
I setup a 40 gallon breeder for guppies but put different species in it that I liked. Now it’s a tank of mutts I guess but there are some amazing looking guppies that have resulted from the mix. If I was to start over I would pick just one species though
Great video bro. Keep on keepin on. You are the realist dude on RUclips. I've learned so much. Tanks a lot :)
Old LRB is younger; New LRB is older. Fish content equally entertaining and good!
Thanks for dropping some of that knowledge on us. That's why I always say do what you do if it works for you.
Good video L.R.B.
Ooo thanks for the video 😊😊😊😊
Great information Lucas, thanks for sharing! I love my Black Moscow guppies.
I’ve never had endlers or guppies. I’d like to try them though. 😊
Another great video ! I’m liking this format. You are always so full of great information! 😊
My favourite guppies right now are my nebula steels. I like the crazy patterns that they have.
WOW great job on this, you make it look so easy.
Solid stuff bro!
Hi Lucas my favorite guppy is the half black Moscow’s with delta tails any color but I like the blues and blacks. Right now I have dumbo ear mosaics and half moon mosaics. My strains I had for three years died off from weak immune systems and other parasite issues. I’m still learning the natural way of balancing like you were discussing. Thanks so much for this video
I am learning so much!
I think that algae looks good and makes the system look more natural and function better as a closed system, however, you have to keep it controlled to a degree. Love your methods and fish keeping philosophy.
Awesome thoughts mate, very balanced tanks. I've only ever kept red bar enders, but we're getting more and more species available lately, definitely want to pick some up
Awesome video Lucas, my tank currently loves you, your advice never fails...HAIL to the lucas🤴🏻
Great video as always.
I like the green cobras and all white guppies
Ow lord so many guppies I’m liking the tuxedo koi guppies and a lot of the big ears. I like the blue voisin and the el Tigre endlers.
I like these Lime Green Endlers I bought from this one dude in Indiana. they are awesome. =D =D
: P
These nostalgic music intros lately kill me 😂😂 Nice video Lucas!
Good info= a new sub.. thanks
hey man only had a handful of black bar endlers for about a month, love them already looking for some tiger endlers gonna start some line breeding
Love guppies and endlers . No endlers right now but I’m working on a breeding project with guppies.
yellowsnake skin guppys i have line bred for the longest time, I know they arent as flash as other strains and not as rare but i always find them the most hardy and beautifull.
My fav is definitely the white Moscow. Hard to find and never really seen a female but I’m trying to breed them out so I can have a true line for my pals
ive been breeding purple haze guppies. the vibrant blues and iridescent purples are very eye catching.
You ever tried nerite snails? even ramshorns do loads of work for me
I have. I keep mostly ramshorn, malaysian trumpet, and pond snails.
Yeah what's with hair algae and moss? It seems like java moss and hair algae have a symbiotic relationship of their own. Hair algae grows throughout my java moss and guppy grass but not around any other plants or other areas of my tanks. As for guppies, I'm liking spade tail varieties. I like them more streamlined with less finage as opposed to clumsy looking guppies with massive tails and dumbo ears. I don't really have a favorite strain. I like variety. Basically I like mutts. Guppy / endler mutts are pretty awesome. It's cool seeing them grow and develop colors. There seems to always be a few that really stand out from the rest with awesome and unique colors.
Hi Lucas... peace and love! ✌💜
Glad to see you around : ) Hope your doing good!
L.R.Bretz's Aquatics had the leiomyosarcoma (LMS) tumor of my abdominal muscle removed last week in Pittsburgh. Home recovering. They were able to get it all. No spread. Very thankful. May still need to go through chemo. But right now I'm focusing on recovering from the extensive surgery and pain I'm in. Way behind on my youtube videos. Miss watching you my friend. 💜 Purple is the color for LMS, so I'll be posting purple hearts from now on. ✌ see you soon and thank you for asking! 😊🦋
BEAUTIFUL GUPPIES OH MY LIFE
Yes guppies! My favorite lets see pry my albino platinum's or my nebula steels, nope gotta be the japan blues or maybe the half black purples, it could be the koi guppies or my pandas the starburst are catching my eye a lot. hard to pick a favorite MTS lol
just subscribed great content good information i currently have a few cobra type female guppy's dropping fry for me
what about lighting? any best choice for lighting a 30 gallon? is the easiest way using a few CFL bulbs? keep up the great videos. cheers!
CFL get the best results IMO
Thanks for the helpful guidance! #HoosierHero
Wow thanks again for more great content, just wish you had posted this sooner. I just sold almost all of my guppies to my LFS. sold 110 guppie$ & 15 my$tery snail$ cha-ching $$$ lol I've got like 5 guppies left, just have to catch them all so I can take them in. here's a tip, it's really hard to catch fish out of a Fluval Edge 12gallon, so only put fish in that you never plan to remove... 1 guppy left, just hope I can get her before she has babies. Do you have any tips on catching fish that are really good at hiding?
Wait til they are hungry endlers and guppies will come to the surface when hungry or you can catch them when they are sleeping but you have to be stealthy about it and only so much time to do it right.
Yeah, I tried both, neither worked. I finally just had to tear the tank apart removed all the decor etc. I got her. Since everything was torn apart I seized the opportunity to remove all of my lower grade cherry shrimp as well.
My farvorite is ginga rugby endler and japan blue🔥
I just recently meaning yesterday learned about a yin yang guppy and elephant ear guppy that I'm currently trying to locate. Fish room looks awesome bud
Great video as always. I've got some lovely new Tiger Endlers but my absolute favorite is this one poor single Green Cobra Endler I have name Moody, he has a snakeskin pattern on his body and tail and is a beautiful green/yellow with a blue iridescent shine... he's missing an eye and is a grump. I'd love to breed him because he's getting old but the shop I got him from only had males :( I'm thinking about giving him a Tiger female and seeing what happens.
My fav is koi endler been looking for some for a long time and now I have been able to find one my LFS had one male so I get him as a feeder and some females to to see if I can get them to breed true
I was thinking what is the difference from all others beside guppies and endlers with plant from ur experience
I have experienced a lot of fish in these types of setups which all work. But mouthy fish like guppies and endlers ones that constantly mouth on things work best for keeping it clean.
tuxedo white or tuxedo koi guppys... waiting for whites to come yeah..
So you are saying:
fast growing plants/some slow growers
guppies/endlers
cory cats
substrate
no filter
no heater if you have house at 70-75 F
regular water changes(every 2 weeks)
This would work? You don't need anything to add water tension at the surface? Thanks. Might set up a tank like this in future.
Correct. The endlers and guppies will break up water tension.
What are some low light, fast growing plants you suggest for a setup like this?
I'm currently breeding nebula steel guppies.
hi do you sell fish to hobbyist? I love those half black blue/paste you have!! 1:54
My stuff goes real fast and since everything is homebred it takes time to replenish my livestock counts. The Patreon Club offers first dibs and other benefits since they help support the main fish room. If you want to check it out here is the link: www.patreon.com/lrbaquatics or you can check the site periodically time to time to see if I have them available. I cant do wait list it becomes overwhelming.
Just found your videos. Great stuff! An endler I would like to have is a blue green snakeskin or tiger with a spade tail. I got one out of a LFS feeder tank once and it was the coolest.
Snails and Shrimp will help!
I always wonder do you vaccum your sand ? I know you dont with eco complete but sinnce sand is more prone to annerobic i was wondering?
No but the Malaysian Trumpet Snail helps stir it up.
L.R.Bretz's Aquatics thanks man for the quick reply!
gotta ask what do you use for lighting all your racks? I'm building racks and would love your advice thanks kindly
Most of them are Aquaneat LEDs and T5's from ebay.
thanks my friend
Can I keep shrimp in my community tank?? If so what hard water type would work? Gh 80 +
This vid may help: ruclips.net/video/q3gKjyvNNIg/видео.html
I hate my rams horns snails my fish tank is not there vegetable garden. I'd rather pick and choose what leaves I cut and sometimes let them just die off to feed beneficial bacteria in my eyes then having all my plant leaves full of holes and eating away. in the process of nuking them all. I don't need them to maintain my tank.
Do you have the giant ramshorns? My normal sized ones don't touch my plants unless the leaf is dying, and even then they usually wait for it to start turning brown.
I bought a lot of easy low tech plants & just about everything I bought melted- died I don't know what the deal is
but I know what I bought to what I got didn't do worth A FLIP, I'm gonna try 1 more plant & SEE how it goes
if it don't work then I'll just stick to fake plants & be done with it, I live on a fixed income & can't keep buying plants
just for them to die... I have the sand & sill they died on me so maybe I don't have enough waste in the tanks?
Pregnant endlers with the munchies eat all the algae and mulm in my tank. What they don't get, the ramshorns eat.
What is your secret to brown Algie
Ottos, plecos, or snails.
Do u think they would clean up staghorn algae ?
Yes def.
is there another fish that wuould do the same?
Yes, now that I have tested it with many other fish. It can pretty much be done with all fish that I have noticed.
@@LRBaquatics What other kind would you suggest?
n class snake skin orchids
Staghorn is the worst ! That's the only algae I've had that I really have a hard time with
You can use hydrogen peroxide on staghorn algae and gets rid of it fast. Usually if you are feeding your plants regularly you wont have a issue with staghorn.
L.R.Bretz's Aquatics I have tried peroxide and when I went to Florida for 10 days it didn't gets any ferts and it looked a lot better so I stopped using them for a month or so and started back up again and now it's back
Japanese blue endlers with sword tails
Hey Lucas I came across a channel called Dexter’s world and this guy has some amazing fish including some dumbo guppies check it out
Nice video! 👍
My favorite endlers are black with colorful looking fins that are in my 55gal. tank.
Check them out on my channel if you want. 👊
My endlers are reproducing like crazy never pay attention to what kind I have
Dumbo ear guppy
