@@robertc.5558 25 is insane. If you look at all there other lord packs, they tend to be 5 dollar per new playable lord. Three lords would be 15, and even with inflation that shouldn't go up 10 dollars.

You can see the queued units get recruited over the end turn by the way, for example at 6:48:00 when he recruits all the horrors. The green bar gets higher as it goes from faction 2 to 3 in the order, then 4 to5 etc. So it seems the queue starts counting every factions turn and not just the players once the first batch has been recruited?

Today I finally got to see you be the Lord of Change, and it filled a gap for me. So Thanks.
Hahahahaha it's just super funny in the intro they showed Karl Franz as the last man. Like they even know he is super popular and a meme guy/faction. I love Karl Franz. I think everybody does. Also Karl Franz fits the intro theme to be shown as the spotlight boss.
I appreciate you showing this. The changeling was the only part of the DLC I was interested in. Looks like hes just an invisible skaven that can only make undercities. $5 DLC lmao
Your comment around 1:23:00 about CA/sega killing TWWH3 also depends on the contract they have with Games Workshop. If they have to do up to a certain point in the story then they need to go there at least, now how well those are done could drop off even more, but if GW pulls the agreement then the games could be pulled from the store all together. It happened a lot of times to other warhammer based games.
So, I am actually interested in playing all of the new content but will still wait for a sale to vote with my wallet. Thanks for the coverage and a surprise stream though! Would love for you to cover the other new content as I will be waiting to play it myself.
So many factions can end turn simulator+AR on Legendary. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, but CA's attempt to nerf experience gained, remove "close victory btw" reddit posts and attach experience to casualties killed which completely dumps the ball in the AR court is just as bad for the overall health of the game as the siege rework. To top it off for a variety of reasons this faction is a snoozefest, and Kairos still needs a facelift.
@@kluasvt828 Sure. There are very few factions in the game where you have to actually play the game via manual battling. Some like WoC it's actually beneficial to almost always AutoResolve fights to evenly distribute experience to melee units and maximize their warband system to evolve to higher quality units. You can do this on Legendary/Very Hard quite consistently by the way, outside some settlements. When you do this, you can quickly progress though turns, hence "End Turn Simulator." You're staring at the end turn a lot. Close victory was removed off the first post battle screen. It still exists, just slightly hidden.
I guess caravan loot is now tied to how much cargo they hold. So yes, early game its not that much but later it should be better. You can see the cargo of the caravan above their banner
I haven't played WH for a while. No matter how much content they release to the player they simply neglect the core changes that this game desperately needs such as AI changes, siege rework, bug fixes etc. From a business perspective, I can understand why they won't do it; they won't make a quick buck like they would with DLC. You could argue though that in the long term by making these core changes it would increase fan base and have old fans come back to the game. This in return would drive more sales for future upcoming dlc I think because it would actually be enhancing a more fleshed out masterpiece. I completely agree with legend with his views on the price inflation of DLC. It may be enticing to purchase and have fun with it for a week or until the novelty wears off, but you're still stuck with the same game that needs a pretty beefy overhaul. That being said, if they do implant those core changes, that is the shadows of change I'm truly willing to stand behind rather than a tzeentch faction with recycled mechanics. I sincerely hope they can come to their senses to find a way to implement these changes where they can still make money and give their fans what they want.
Damn I'm worried about the future of WH3 if Cathay isn't getting a real rework with this patch. This feels like the aftershocks of CA losing a lot of talent last year; maybe the key employees who left were actually responsible for setting up the Beastmen rework that has been so highly acclaimed, and now that they're gone we're not going to see that kind of stuff any more? I hope that isn't the case, but CA is giving us red flag after red flag atm.

Considering 1:20:45 discussion on Empire 2: I'm not a fan of that style either. I would prefer to see a modern warfare Total War, however, that could be difficult within the game genre. The thing with gun warfare, historically, once the guns became good enough (repeating, accurate, not prone to failure every few shots) battles became stalemates for years. The problem is the offence is so strong that not having a matching defence means mass slaughter in moments, while the strong defences were not portable (trenches, dugouts, etc.). So, making a push required overwhelming force (with high casualties still), deception, or artillery bombardment. None of these make for good tactically gameplay, although they can be strong strategically. Now tanks can change this, but it is a whole different kind of gameplay using camouflage, facing, and communication from scouts revealing hidden units to fire upon. Infantry have their place in capturing and holding, and city battles where the terrain disfavours tanks. So, I guess you could split the gameplay into these two battle types, kind of like the settlement battles in WH3. Three with naval.
Regarding the doomstack videos you already prepped: I think I'd still release them. Not everyone has the time to find and watch this doomstack in action. (Said as someone who just watched this whole video . . . )
What happens if you play as kairos and you confederate the changeling? Surely he’s just well shit? Unless his mechanic is available in Kaiross campaign?
It seems that all of Kairos's settlements get turned into ruins without the cults... Which is weird lol Pranked. I think you just need to basically have a lord or hero go around eatch ruin and establish a cult? idk, on the bright side you get Karios and his globals are good for the changling
Np! It's kinda funny honestly, I wonder if it's better to Confederate the changling as Karios, could you keep the cool powers and the settlement? Sadly ledgend didnt have enough time to see that
I think having steal spells mechanic alongside the stealing base lords would have been really cool ypu take the mega healnfrom kugath and make it extra tseentchy
The price point of the new DLC would be more palatable, if the support for the wider game was higher. Im not buying into any more DLC that is going to introduce bugs that just wont be fixed. Nakai still can't recruit Kroxigors.
As a long time Cathay player I'm very underwhelmed by the new units. Pretty much nothing Cathay is getting was really needed. Sure the war drum and Yin Lion are useful so you can actually play full melee armies without dropping harmony (or use Terracotas Sentinels, but is it gonna be enough to really offer good choices outside of the previous balanced armies? I reckon no. Especially because they still lack melee infantry that can actually kill stuff. The best mid game to end game armies will still be the usual halberds + crossbows + a few canons with a shugengan lord. Both for cost efficiency and performance. I was hoping they'd fill out the roster a bit more, but the dlc feels oddly like it adds units we'd see on the 6th or 7th Lord Pack previously ... aka situational units. Cathay really needs more offensive infantry, a good melee hero, better cav, more ranged options. Oh and of course a rework of the 2 heroes they already have. Alchemists are only used cause they boost campaign movement range and Astromancers are laughably bad. It's literally better to have a Wuxing War Compass on its own, because they still provide the spell mastery, free spells AND have yang harmony ... so you can place them in the backfield to provide harmony for your crane gunners and canons. Metal and Heaven lore are also both mostly worse than Yin and Yang, which your lord will be able to cast, so you won't even use the casting on them. I'm hoping their next dlc will fix some of the holes the roster has (Whenever that will be). I'm kinda worried at this point, because even though they have so many options for a faction such as Grand Cathay, they went with really odd units for their first dlc.
I feel like the changeling would be more interesting if he was more vulnerable on the campaign. If you had a head to head campaign it would be interesting to fight against him with the strategy or razing every settlement to the ground in order to wipe him out, including your own whom you suspect of suffering from cults. Also can you change between cult types like chaos dwarves can change between outposts and factories?
That would be counterproductive since the only way to destroy the cults is to discover them and you can't exactly discover them if they are ruins. You have to hold the territory to discover them.
Type of cult is dependent on the buildings. Just tear down the ones you don't want and build the ones you do. Some wasted resources but that's not a huge deal if you do it early
such a shame the price is so unreasonable, changeling looks fun but i have 0 interest in the other two, i really feel like the jade dragon should have been FLC
From what I've seen Crowmen are better than Furies and Harpies with the added benefit of providing also easy harmony for your artillery/range if you wanna keep it back and from other content creators saying they are better in melee than peasent horsemen. Not saying they are "good" for campaign but for the tier and cost maybe having 1 or 2 instead of a cavalry unit could work to not have to replace, weird hearing "they are carrion" if they clearly better than harpies and furies who are already better than carrion. To be more accurate with the comparisons, for example Cockatrice would be a better Manticore (doesn't rampage and has magical and poison attacks and an area debuff) something that already exists on their roasters.
