Half of the weight of the original MK1's! The MK8 is 75lbs and the MK1's were 150lbs. It's still a Rhodes, so it's big and you wouldn't carry it yourself, but it's way easier to move around. I don't understand how they cut so much weight but it's great that they did!
Honestly the MK1 does have a different and more mellow warm sound, but as with my MK1, I set it up to cater to that vibe (see the demo vid on my channel). With the MK8 Preamp, EQ and the easy ability to tweak the setup yourself, you could achieve the MK1 sound no problem. The build quality, feel, and versatility is 10x better than the originals, so I'd sell my MK1 in a minute if I could buy a MK8 today!
Who's excited for the future of the MK8? 🎹

Man I'd love to have one of these, ANY kind of Rhodes !

How much does it weigh? Is it easy to get on and off stage?

Can it be ordered with the warmer early 70's tines? The upper end of the mk8 is too harsh and plinky.
