Good Lord. You don't need all that stuff, and certainly not $120.00 calipers. $25 calipers are MORE than adequate. I've made about a dozen 1911 from 80% kits and with good jigs and files, you can do 95% of the work. Obviously you can get uppers which require staking of the front sight, but most do NOT. You're really making this a LOT harder than it truly is.

Man I wish I could get the rest of your videos bud. Regardless of the comments below. I have a feeling your build is better quality.
If you need all that stuff to complete that they should call that a 30%
9 of your videos are unavalible, is there any way of seeing those?
My matrex decker is the gen 2 with hammer sear holes in it. It works.
Geez Louise! Sounds like you are building one from a block of raw steel. They sure made these 80%-ers a lot more complicated than the AR's.
Through this series can these tools be used to make a 9mm 1911?
Where are the missing videos
Thats what I would like to know
What was the total tooling up cost?
I added it up. It's around 800 bucks. If you plan on making more than one it's worth it.
And when you are done with them (after making a few 1911's) couldn't you sell some of the tools on eBay and recoup some of the cost?
Thinking better just go buy a finished gun if you would have to buy all this, parts are sky high now anyway
Do they still sell these 80% 1911 frames?
Yes
