@@JamesLeithartI grew up in Pogradec in the early 2000s. Life as a child was joyful and nice, I remember playing all day outdoors and going to the lake with my family. It was very safe, and everyone knew each other. However for the grownups life was different, Pogradec like most of the country had no jobs and many families relied on the money coming from their relatives living abroad. There were no tourists, and everyone that I knew was poor. The main goal for many residents was to move to Tirana or leave the country.
I haven't been in Albania since 2012, and I feel like I'm going to visit a new country when I get back! Edit: I also miss having 4 actual seasons, unlike here in Montréal where we have only 2 seasons 😢
You make us miss Pogie! It was fun to see the gym across from our old apartment. You are still a great shot with a basketball!! Good luck with the 11.5 K! Is Seasons Bakery adding on? Keep up the great videos.
Seasons isn't exacting adding on, but they are going to be working much more closely with Garden Villa (or, rather, what will soon be known as the Cafe formerly known as Garden Villa 😂)
Hi James, I was in Vlore this winter. November through April have been about 85ish percent rain. I am curious if you found this similar to Pogradec or was it a little dryer over there?

The green lushness of Pogradec, Albania reminds me of Portland, Oregon. So beautiful.
it doesn’t stay green all the time… but it’s wonderful in the spring!
It's nice to see Albania, haven't been back in a while. It's a lot better now than when I was living there in the 1990s.
I know if I had been here, I wouldn't have wanted to be. But being here now makes me wish I could have seen it in the 90s... or even 2000s.

Oof. 85% is a lot. I would be surprised if Pogradec gets that much rain, but I haven’t paid super close attention either…
