Congratulations! Just had my 3rd baby, here id what I would add:
    1. Socks for baby
    2. Mittens for baby’s hands to prevent scratching himself
3 Slippers for you (you won’t want to walk around in socks on the hospital floor, then get back into bed with them).
    4. Pants for the baby to wear with the onsie or footed pajamas (hospitals are cold typically)
    5. Car sear cover
    6. A letter board! I loved making them with the baby’s name, birthdate, weight, etc for pics in the hospital.
    7. If u wash your hair in the hospital, you may want your blow dryer...honestly I didn’t wash my hair until I got home because I have a lot of hair and I knew I wouldn’t have time to dry it.
    8. Your own pillow
    9. Nursing pads
I know the popular opinion is you won’t need your make-up, but I did mine after all 3 of my kids ( 1 natural and 2 c-sections). You do you, boo 😘💄💕

To all the ppl who are commenting how ridiculous this video is.. SHOCKER: some girls actually DO care how they look during and after labor!!! My first pregnancy, I was in the middle of some pretty intense contractions, but fixed my hair and did my makeup before ever leaving the house 💋 Same thing after delivery! One of the nurses didn’t even know I was the patient!!! Lol 🤣 ~BELINDA YOU GOT THIS GIRL 👏🏼 YOU’RE GOING TO BE A FANTASTIC MOTHER❣️

I was admitted in the middle of the night and had an emergency csection. I was on so much medication to bring down my bp and the normal meds of a csection that the first day or two I wasn’t focused enough to care how I looked but once I was up and moving I wish I would have had things to make myself look better. It would have helped with the gross feeling.

Since you are bringing your pillow I would recommend a color pillowcase (other than white) so it doesn’t get mixed up with the hospital pillows. Also, maybe take your breast pump, so you can get help from the lactation specialist if needed (they will have pumps available at the hospital too). So happy for you mama!!♥️

    Felicidades!!!!

From our experience with having my son via c-section we didn’t get sleep at all, and it’s because you are gonna have a lot of staff coming in and out for everything! Checking your vitals, the baby’s vitals, dietary, the doctors and nurses checking you and baby, then the lactation nurse, records. Girl you are gonna have a party in your room everyday. So be aware of that. So if you ever get a chance to sleep take it and don’t be restless about it! Even benji talked about not getting sleep. Get as much sleep now! And you can wear socks lol I asked my doc before going in for surgery that I need my socks on haha.

Second part of my recommendation: (continued from previous comment) Mints (as nurses come in almost every hour at all times and it is hard to get up to brush your teeth all the time, download a movie/show to watch at night, earphones for dad, comfy slippers to walk in room/hallway, sponge or loofah for showers, hand sanitizer/wipes and nail clippers (you soon realize that your nails can easily scratch the baby). I hope this helps to add-on to your bags. Also don't forget a mask for both of you! :) Sending you love & positive vibes for a beautiful delivery....he is almost here. You are in the nesting phase and try to sleep as much as you can now- Love, Lucy Hernandez

I think the only thing I used in labour (all natural and back labour so I was struggling lol) was a hair tie and water and sports bra, underwear, and no slip socks was all I wore because it gets so hot like you’ve never been hot before. My midwife had a cloth that stays freezing cold when wet. That saved my life. Afterwards Gatorade and more water was so good. Plus adult diapers with postpartum underwear was so so so comfortable. I also brought a whole suitcase of things I did not need but it’s good to be prepared but also you don’t want to overpack if someone else is getting things for you. So frustrating to try to explain what to get and where when you’re having contractions.

So funny how different from one country to an other. In France, we have to prepare a pouch with the first outfit for the baby : a long sleeves onesie, a velvet pyjama, mittens and a cardigan. Also a blanket. No matter if baby’s born in July ou January, they can’t adjust their own temperature at first, plus they go from 37•c to 20•c.... maybe pack extra warm clothes with long sleeves, won’t take that much space. Anyway, I wish both of you a wonderful experience meeting your forever love ❤️

I have a tip about newborn nails that my sis in law with 6 kids told me lol. They are very soft at that stage and the excess nail tip can be carefully pulled off to the side. You don't need to use too much force. Try it with your baby. My husband used nail clippers and accidentally cut the baby's skin. If that happens to you, put lanolin on the cut. Lanolin is amazing for healing baby scratches. Clippers were too hazardous for us. I moved to baby nail files after 2 months (just cover baby's hands with socks, they stay on better than mittens). Then one day, I got brave enough to use the clippers. Baby was finally 5 months and was totally cooperative. My baby doesn't like his hands messed with in his sleep, so I just give him positive words when I trim his nails and he's all for it.

It’s a good idea to bring your own snacks/drinks. Plus having a change purse with dollar bills and coins for the vending machine is helpful as well.

I purchased the same robe/hat/dad shirt for our pics from the same company. I picked the blue one though for my son. Good quality, almost cried when I saw the name on the hat. Took a month, but still quicker than the estimated date. Hope you have a safe delivery. I deliver next month hopefully lol. 🤞 I have a battery powered fan that I got off Amazon in my hospital bag since I sleep with fans on too, a blanket and swimsuit for my water birth as well.

I brought my own warm blankets and pillows. The hospital room is cold so after you give birth, you’ll lose a lot of blood and feel really cold all the time so that was the thing that kept me warm.. and a brush, need a brush to comb your hair after hours of being in labor. Other than that, the hospital provides everything. It was not necessary to overpack items from home.

Another thing I wish I had known was that my milk supply was not going to fully come in for 5 days. Before that, I had only colostrum, which is harder to express a lot of and hard for baby to get out if they can't latch well. I would suggest taking advantage to ask nurse/lactation consultant how to self- express colostrum. Pumps are great too, but sometimes you dont get time to pump when baby is hungry every 2 hours. Self-expressing will come in handy when you're home without nurses. It might take time for your milk to come in. I had no idea. We went to the 2 day baby check up and the lac. consultant gave us a 4 pack of 2oz ready made Similac formula bottles. My baby was hungry and we decided that adding a bit of formula was necessary until my milk came in. It was a life saver, no one wants to see their baby go hungry and feel helpless. Just a tip, if you want to get a small pack of formula for back up

Hello Belinda! How exciting to be preparing for the arrival of your baby :) as a mom of three here are my recommendations to add to your hospital bag: FOR Baby: washcloths, baby burping blanket, baby lotion for his face, and little baby mittens/gloves (to avoid him from scratching). FOR Mommy: A throw blanket ex: fuzzy comfy small blanket-(it gets cold at the hospital), a comfortable pillow for you & Ricardo (my husband was so uncomfortable at night because we didn't pack anything for him to sleep on the little couch), your favorite play list (helped me when I was holding my baby & reflecting on this journey-while dad was asleep at night)--I couldn't sleep from disbelief that my baby was here, mints (as nurses come in almost every hour at all times and it is hard to get up to brush your teeth all the time, download a movie/show to watch at night, earphones for dad, comfy slippers to walk in room/hallway, sponge or loofah for showers, hand sanitizer/wipes and nail clippers (you soon realize that your nails can easily scratch the baby). I hope this helps to add-on to your bags. Also don't forget a mask for both of you! :) Sending you love & positive vibes for a beautiful delivery....he is almost here. You are in the nesting phase and try to sleep as much as you can now- Love, Lucy Hernandez

The hospital mesh panties were amazing 😂 the whole postpartum set up from my L&D nurse was amazing, I didn’t get the diapers because you don’t know how much you will bleed and I didn’t want to waste money on adult diapers 😂 luckily I didn’t because I didn’t need them at all. Loose clothing >>>> 😍 and I still wear my nursing bras 😂

I would recommend long-sleeve onesies as well, they can't regulate their own temperature so young, and hospitals are usually very cold. also mittens. Good Luck.

For my first baby, I expected to be able to nurse naturally. BUT my baby had a hard time latching and I did not have my contact nipple shield or pump because I left them at home thinking I would not need them. And that made me stressed and really frustrated at the hospital. I would recommend bringing a nipple shield to help baby latch and a pump with bottles in case you realize that pumping works better for you. You never know.

Don’t forget snacks !! just in case.. I went over 24hrs without food because contractions didn’t let me eat.. and I gave birth at 5am and the hospital didn’t serve food till 8am.. I’d suggest protein bars of your liking or a nut bar..

You can't eat anything and only like light liquids or popsicles. I took a bag of suckers with me and I was happy to have them to keep my mouth not so dry and they were just fun flavors. Gave me something to focus on.
