Low key I’m glad I’m having baby during pandemic cuz I never wanted visitors. They just always insisted on coming
im due in august and im also glad! everyone's was already like "im definitely going to be there in the delivery" without even asking me if that would be ok with me, honestly pregnancy makes people stop respecting your boundaries and space sometimes
This is me! lol I don’t need a freaking audience
Thats why im glad i have a pretty small family and not a large group of friends, ive only had one friend ask to be in the room (ive known her for 14 years so im completely fine with her being there or just coming for a visit) and my mums asked to be there, i dont think id be ready to have a whole room full of ppl come to see me in the the hospital or even when i got home tbh.
Uh yes!!!! I absolutely HATE having visitors! Even after I get home... Do not come until we INVITE!
When I had my son, my moms friend literally just showed up in my room with her daughter. Nobody invited her at all and she happened to come when some of my family was there trying to meet my son. It’s just disrespectful
Also bring shower shoes, a colorful pillowcase bc they will take yours by accident,a thick blanket for baby bc the hospital is cold. Make sure to save room in your bag to take ALOT of items home! You can also for a belly band, they will give it to you for free
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You 💗
Thank you!
Thank you for saying this!
Wow, first person I've seen fit EVERYTHING into just one small bag
finally! im a 3rd time mom to due in july and you are the first REALISTIC hospital bag video ive seen. thank you. no need to pack your life lol
^^^ Agree 100% I'm a first time mom in my second trimester, but out of what I've seen, this video makes the most sense to me. Other ones I've seen seem like way too much.
I know this is not an ideal time to be welcoming a new baby with everything going on in the world, but I appreciate so much how relaxed and "in charge" you seem about it all. I wish you the safest, easiest delivery and the happiest, healthiest baby!!
Congrats to you and your (growing) tribe!!
Thank you so much!
My minimal list:
-Phone charger and phone
-Old loose dress i fully intend on wearing the whole time
-basic toiletries such as brush, tooth brush and toothpaste ect
-2 sleepers for baby
-hairband that i fully intend on wearing the entire time
-snacks for after the birth
-socks and slippers that i will wear on my way in
The hospital basically has the rest

Same, I didn’t even use my toothbrush or change of clothes…also brought diapers but the hospital gave them to us, also never had a chance to brush my teeth or shower. The main thing I used was snacks/candy and I wish I had brought more 😂
Lucky, in the uk they don’t give you anything. I have to bring my own pads/adult nappies, newborn nappies, cotton wall, wipes etc
This is exactly like my bag. I’m on baby number 5
@@mellissamatthews8896 we pay ALOT for our Heath care here. I would much rather have the uk Heath system here and bring my own nappies.
You are so blessed to be able to prepare like this. All I had 18 years ago was a car seat, one baby blanket, one baby outfit. We were so tight on money. I was blessed with a few good people in my life that gave gifts and food afterwards. Happy for you!
That 36 weeks breathlessness omg. Im only 24 weeks along today I can't imagine how bad it will be :O
C-section mama here! I had 2 winter babies and I found I wanted sweats to come home is because of the incision vs something tight like leggings. Also I loved fuzzy socks and a robe for my bag. Last thing take a tablet/iPad 👍
Helpful advice
The mesh panties they have at the hospital are perfect for csection mommies. I loved them. I took some home. I come home wearing a long dress and flats.
The depends adult diapers were my besties after my c section
I’ve watched a ton of these vids and this is certainly the most practical. Thank you
Thank you for this. I was literally just in tears because I became so overwhelmed about "the bag". I've watched so many other videos and couldn't figure out why it seemed like people plan to move in. This is my 1st baby so I was feeling like I've already got it all wrong.
Girl if it helps , with my first born I literally had no “bag “ I took a toothbrush and a set of clothes to go home in that’s about it and I was fine , baby was fine and we survived. . Plus the hospital does supply you with everything you need for postpartum . good luck to you 🤍
@@brendaababey Thank you! Yes it all worked out fine! My princess was born 9/22 and I did not pack the whole house as there was no need!
@@AC-dj8hk omg happy birthday to your baby!! That's my birthday and my mother's as well!! 🥰🥰🥰
From a first time mom, THANK YOUUU! This is so my speed on minimal but effective packing! 23 weeks today and getting more excited every daayyy!!!
I Love this video like The only one that really shows what you need. Because The hospital really does provide everything.
I wish I had this info when I had my babies! Very informative and helpful. Oh the best part of S&W is hearing the baby melody come on the PA system when the babies are born! Hope you have a safe, easy delivery. Can't wait to hear about the gender.
I always take our own pillows AND blankets. It's a must have for me.
We pack one bag too. Also I’m due almost exactly a year after you. And looks like it’s still the “middle” of a pandemic
I’m 38 weeks and this is my first baby and your vlogs have really been very helpful and reassuring. Thank you!!
I work on the nursing field & am 7 months ... compression socks ARE LIFE! 💙
I'm a much older mom but really enjoy your videos....you have very good practical ideas especially with dinner....
Enjoy that new little one sounds like you are ready!
How exciting packing your hospital bag!! Its almost time.
Love this minimalist thing to carry in the hospital, i remember on my 1st two girls I have not that much of idea I almost brought with me everything. Now I'm expecting our 3rd and this is for me the best not to carry the rest! Thanks a lot for sharing 🥰😇
This is the best video I have seen and the most realistic. I really appreciate it as a first time mommy.
Great video!!! It's so helpful especially for first time mothers!!!! Praying for you to have a safe and healthy time in the hospital!!! Love to you and your family!!! 💋😘🥰
Thank you!!
This is awesome!!!! I was so stressed about the hospital bag but this makes me feel so much better. Thank you! 😊👍
this is so helpful i'm 21 weeks preg so this is helping me out, thank you so much :)
Omg the jiggle! Yes after i had my first baby my whole body felt loose and jiggly! I had no idea that was a thing. I wish i had one of those bands and the sleep mask! This was a very fun informative video.
First time mom not due till march 1st and this was really helpful
You have the most realistic and helpful video I’ve seen for packing your hospital bag for baby and I. I’m 36 weeks and this is my first baby so not knowing what exactly to pack for baby and I (not wanting to take too much) had been so overwhelming! I’ve watched times of videos of “you’ll need this and that and yada yada” which is great but I’m looking for bare minimum being that we’re still dealing with Covid so it’ll just be my partner and I at the hospital and I don’t want to overwhelm ourselves with carrying so many bags while we have our little one to navigate through this maze of a hospital. So thank you so much, I’m convinced I too can pack for the three of us into one carryon luggage bag! Your video was also relatable being that you too were waiting to know baby’s gender. So thank you so much mamas, and congratulations to you and your little family on baby number three!!! I hope all is well and your recovery is going great! 💞💞💞
I love you bc your just so straight forward
Thank you for this! Currently 26 weeks pregnant with my first, and with everything going on in the world, this is definitely not how I thought my first pregnancy would go. Wishing you and your family all the best! ❤️
Your the first video I’ve seen that includes stuff for the hubby lol he will be happy.
I like how you actually show yourself packing the bag! One thing I saw suggested elsewhere that I thought was a good idea was a sleep mat for dad. I’ve been told that he won’t have a place to sleep other than a stiff chair and if we’re there for a long time, he’ll get tired as well. We’re thinking of a thin camping mat we have and a sleeping bag. My husband keeps a sleeping bag in his car anyway. He was an Eagle Scout and big on preparedness lol.
Natalie Nguyen I would check with your hospital on this. With COVID many are changing the way rooms are set up. For instance my hospital has a bed for my husband and the baby is roomed with us not separately.
Good luck and stay safe and happy!!
The best and most honest review thank you so much
Love this!! I am only 16 weeks with my second, but I never had a bag for my first (I was 18 and didn't even know it was a thing). I am looking to be minimal and save money on crap I might not use, so this is more helpful than a lot of other videos! I have been following for about a year and love all of your videos!
I’m dues in September 2020... you must be due right around me!
Natasha Letourneau did u have your baby yet.. I’m due in November ... right around good old Black Friday ... 😂 and I’m so nervous about having the baby during COVID....with everything going on I’m wondering about ppls experiences in the delivery room..
Best video I have seen. Had two kids. You hit this on point.
I’m due May 20th with my first baby. I packed my bag at 30 weeks. However, after talking to my doctor recently about covid, I decided to really cut down on the number of things I was planning on bringing to reduce the chance of bringing germs home. My pillow, letter board for pictures, diaper bag with baby’s clothes/linens, and my boppie pillow are all staying home. We were also opted to pack canvas duffel bags instead of suite cases so everything can be put into the washing machine to be disinfected. Good luck with your baby! I’m having a little boy.☺️☺️☺️
Yes im doing the same thing! Everything will be cleaned once we come home.
Hospital towels are like the strongest sandpaper you can ever buy LOL. I’m due in June with baby number 2. I’m packing minimal as well.
I tried to not bring as much with my 2nd delivery. The hospital really does give you a lot.
we don’t get anything in uk!😳
Yup zero nthn at all
Sadia Sana khan but you guys get free health care! Besides the $140/month for just my insurance per month through my employer, it’s another 5k out of pocket for maternity care and delivery and that’s with a great insurance company! I’ll take bringing my own diapers and things over that any day 😩😩
Sassy that’s amazing!
Thanks for sharing this!! I’ve totally been binge watching all your meal videos and then i saw this one! I’m also pregnant with baby #3 and have been induced two times before this one. Good luck mama!
youre welcome! good luck to you!
It's really good that the hospital provide so much for you and baby. They don't do that where I live :( so I have to pack nappies, cream, maternity pads etc
This was literally so simple. Love it🤰🏽💙👍🏼 first baby. I am just adding some Clorox wipes😁 and Lysol and a face mask is required to go in the hospital where I live so I guess a mask too.
Wow!! Best of luck n experience to you n hubby! Happy healthy baby !!!
Thank you!
I had a winter and a summer baby, both were C-section, both not planned. The nursing pillow is also really great for supporting your stomach after a C-section. My daughter ended up pretty jaundiced and we had to stay for five days, so glad it was four years ago, I can't imagine not having someone that could run home and get things for me like right now.
Thank you !!!! I was so stressed on what I needed !!!
Can’t wait for your big announcement!
Thank you so much for the video! Have the same due date as you! Also pregnant with my 3 baby.
Wow how crazy!!
It depends where you live, I'm in the u.k and it's free to give birth so you pretty much have to bring everything, the hospitals are going to be reluctant to provide you with much.
I'm in Australia now and it's basically the same.
Same here in Jamaica
I'm in Belgium, with my first baby the midwives told us everything in the room was available for us to use and take home - great! What we didn't expect was a bill a month later.... so this time I'm taking everything, even wipes
In America it costs like $3275 where I’m at
chirichiri where in Australia? I’ll be delivering in Melbourne and wondered if I’ll get nappies or maternity pads?
yours is the first video that i almost clicked on every link below! so helpful and thank you! due in april 2021
My first was 5 days late, my second was 7 days late (which was induced). Now 25 weeks with my third, really hope my third comes on time lol Only thing I bring differently because I’m bottle feeding is I do bring a bottle for otw home just in case. Things I learned from my first two definitely bring snacks esp for dad, chapstick and gum/mints (dry mouth is real)! And our hospital only supplies bars of soap like the motels 🤢. So now I know to bring my own. That after birth shower is heaven.
Hi Abbie I can see full energy from you in this video you just glow and seemed very ready. I’m a mother of two but I’m conceiving a little one here and I’m a bit scared after 9 years pregnant again. Watching your video helps me to stay positive sending support here love Sheryl Squad
Slimming belt excelent use it my momalways told my sisiters and i to use after our babys for 2 months, regards from Mexico
I used a slimming belt after my son for around 3 months. It pushed my hips back together and I looked so much better after birth then before!
That’s what I thought too when I tried it!
I used a carry on for my hospital bag for our first and will this one as well.
I agree with the comments, thanks for not making it boujee! Only the necessities, im almost done packing , just gotta go to walmart and get some snacks and a travel toothbrush (didnt think about that) soooo thank you for the video! Im due in 4 weeks with my first 😻💕
What an awesome/HELPFUUUULLLL vid, you def know what you're doing! Thanx SO much for keeping it REAL & not boujee! I'm due Nov 9th & plan on using your tips for my hospital bag that I'll be preparing in 2 wks!! Super excited for my Fall baby Girl to be born. Thanks again! 🧡 #NewSubbie
This is perfect!
Love this super helpful
liquidy and jgggily ahhhhhh what did I get myself into!! First baby here and pretty dang nervous! Thanks for the video!
Love your videos, Abby! Can you make a video talking about fitness levels with all your 3 pregnancies? I remember you mentioning that you didn't exercise with the second pregnancy as much as you did with the third. Do you think it made a difference? Do you think it will make a difference during labor?
Yessssss! You dont need anything in the car ride home! Lol pet peeve of mine
I've been binge watching your videos on my other youtube account lol. And i meant to watch it here lol. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow! I'm taking one small luggage (very small) and thats all were taking. I love all your videos
Every hospital and place is different. My hospital in Boston gave me mostly everything but if you want specific brand ( they gave us Johnson baby soap, I know most people don’t like that) I would bring it. Also I have heard for people go in and they have NOTHING for them at the hospital. I think it depends on your personality. I am an over packer and I don’t mind having an extra bag with us for just in case stuff. Like a diaper bag should always be with you. Walking out of the hospital my son spit up, I needed wipes and a change of clothes and other things that were in my diaper bag. Also c section is always an option so extra can come in handy. You can go from staying a day or two or five if something happens.
I formula fed from the beginning...one tip for my FF moms is to bring some newborn nurser bottles of a few types of formula (ask your OB for samples ahead of time). My hospital only supplied one brand of formula and baby boy # 2 didn’t like that brand! I had to have hubby run out to the store. Haha he wasn’t thrilled.
We got lucky, they asked about who we wanted to feed and when I told them with formula they gave me a pil to stop milk production and then I could pick from three different formulas. They were little newborn bottles you could heat up and give when needed. They also had three diffrent tips for the new born bottles so if the baby didn't like a certain tip you could try another one
@@gfdereus8967 did the hospital/doctors/nurses judge you for choosing to formula feed? just curious because I want to ff but the media has totally changed the outlook on choosing not to breastfeed and I'm afraid of getting told I am an awful mom for example
@@gagasfan1 first of all f anybody who tells you you're a bad mom for feeding your baby. Second I do live in Germany I know in my hospital they were really relaxed about it. No one gave me the idea they were against it no one told me to reconsider. I had a doula and I talked to her about my choice (she needed to know because it would determine if she would have to do more after visit as German women who have a doula have the right to 1 year of breast feeding advice so she will support you in your journey) I told her I wanted to bottle feed she said thats fine and adviced me on different formulas and their variations. That all said, my choice had to do with my mental health. A happy and relaxed mom is a happy and relaxed baby. If bottle feeding is doing that for you then more power to you. Also small tip formula (at least in Germany/Europe im sure it's the same for america) it's all made to the same standards. Basic formula is made to fit any babys needs. Lots of stuff they advertise to "add" to premium formula is bullshit as the baby cannot process it yet, certain things the baby can't even properly break down without milk bacteria from mothers milk. So just stick to the simple formula it has everything your little one needs by default. Don't get slapped in the face by Marketing and them pushing your guilt buttons. I'm sorry this is so long tho hahaha
I always do a small bag for me and the baby and then my purse
I am so glad I stumbled upon your video’s I just think you are fantastic! And the ones I’ve seen have been so helpful in relieving some anxiety!
I appreciate this so much it was much more help and absolutely help me get informed im having my baby August 21 im so nervous!!😓but this was very helpful
I can't wait😭 3 more months
Im having mine induced the 24th!!! Good luck mama!
Depends underwear were a lifesaver for me! I personally hated the mesh panties from the hospital. Loved this video and how prepared you are!
That's what I use also. My water always breaks before hospital so it helps with fluid on the way there and the bleeding after!
Second time mom here, I watched videos for the first one and ended up bringing nothing because I was so stressed out by all the stuff people said I needed.... luckily my husband was able to leave the hospital. This time my list is pretty close to yours. The only think I’m unsure about is for my husband. We have a tiny county hospital so I think they will let him come and go.
This video is in my favorites and I’ve watched it sooooo many times. I just love it. I’m 27 weeks along with my second and my goal is to pack my bag just like she did!
Only thing I would add is a reusable bag or something you can put extra hospital freebies in. Something that you can fold and put in your carry on and when it’s time to come home you take it out, fill it up and take all the stuff given to you. That’s all! ❤️👍🏼
Love your channel, I would take either the little mittens for the baby or clippers so they won't scratch themselves. God bless
Hospital supplies all that!
@@natashaletourneau5368 Depends what country you're in
Whether you need stuff for the baby depends on where you live/what hospital/public or private care. Here in Ireland they don’t generally provide baby items.
I'm 34 weeks and about to have our third as well! All the best! Love your videos!
You are literally the cutest! Love these videos, such helpful tips!!!
Thank you so much I’m pregnant with my first child and your videos have been super useful ! Subscribed, haha I need all the help I can get 😂❣️
I am expecting #5 and I would still pack a full bag for baby. You can leave it in the car if you want, but have one just in case. I went from a routine stress test to an emergency induction with #3. I was full term and our son had the cord around his neck. He had a 7 day NICU stay. Because he was full term and not the typical premie the NICU didn't really have much of anything for him to wear. The unexpected can happen either at the hospital or the drive home. You could get stuck in traffic or make an unplanned stop. It's ok to be minimal for you but make sure you have everything for the baby. I also think it depends on the nurses that are taking care of you on how much you are sent home with. Some nurses loaded us up with stuff and others did not.
New here… you’re awesome !🎉
I saw u were pregnant in your crock pot cooking tips & came across this video so I just wanted to wish u the best of luck & I hope everything go’s well for your & ur family 😎👍 take care
Thank you so much!!
TheSimplifiedSaver sorry I was at the store getting Some potatoes for one of those meals u did 😎👍, No need to Thank me ☺️ but if you don’t mind me asking did you have your baby 👶 🍼 yet?
Really helpfull for me thanks a lot❤❤
Thank you for nice Video. Totally i agree with some of the comments in here. This is most REALISTIC video i have seen. Also Now i know i am LOW maintenance husband. LOL
I have 2 and I’m being induced Friday with my 3rd and I still over packed 😂 I’ve always been an overpacker lol
Tha k you for this!!
Would like to point out that it depends on where you live ... In Canada you absolutely should bring a baby bag.Diapers and formula and clothing atleast. Maybe it was just the hospital we went to but the nurses had to give me some of their formula and it was like pulling teeth
About to have my 6th baby. I agree with everything she mentioned. The only thing I might add is a heating pad. Especially if you've had more than one child and have experienced afterbirth contractions. For me they are horrendous and the hospital heating pad is a crazy contraption that just doesn't work well. I am packing that along with an extention cord.
Oh yes you are so right! I used one at the hospital and it was great
Pregnant with my 3rd and I'm due may 2021. Good to be reminded what to bring. It's been six yes for melol
It’s been 11 years for me and I’m due November 25 2021😫
On my fourth, and she is so right about the house shoes/slippers. Personally, I buy myself a new pair of slippers (i have to wear them because of chronic inflammation in my feet) and then toss my old ones afterwards the birth.
Just found you looking up early signs of pregnancy. I enjoyed this video and wish you the best of luck this month! I subscribed and am looking forward to your future videos!
So glad I saw this , I’m due 3-24-21 and covid is still in full swing. Baby #3 but it still gets overwhelming , so this was very helpful 💗
That's right girl, one bag fit all. Minimal. Loved that
You are so adorable.
Thank you!
I love your videos super helpful 💗 covid sucks... im due nov 27 with my first baby so i really wouldnt know what to bring
We have the same due date 😅
Same. Thanksgiving babies
Ill be 3rd time mom this coming month and this time my husband will not be coming in with me so its just prepping for me and baby he will stay with the kids at home to avoid having other people here...
And Im bringint a very small bag this time... because I dont want to go from room to room with a million things to carry 😔😔😔
Thanks so much for this!
Where did you buy those little soft cases for your individual stuff and your babies individual stuff when you were packing them into the bag? The blue and green zip of soft cases.
You can find those at ross, tjmaxx and marshalls on the travel section
Excellent video !!! You have this process down to a science. Do you plan on having any more kids?
thank you! we will probably have one more!
Thanks for this video 👏🏼👏🏼 very helpful
Q, did you find that taking a carry-on with everyone's stuff (baby, mom, dad) was better than taking 2 bags (mom/baby & dad)? Just trying to gauge if a carry-on looks a bit much 😅 I tend to overpack & I really aim to pack minimally... thanks!
Life hack for toiletries! Clean out some used mio bottles (those water flavor things) and twist then open. You can use them for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotions. Smaller than filling up the 3 oz travel bottles, cheaper than buying trial sizes, and you get some yummy water flavors for a while before it's done.
Hi ! Thanks for the video! What kind of face moisturizer do you use??
Either cera ve or vanicream!
Really good video. Realistic stuff to take. I would leave some of the outfits, but that’s me personally. I was at the hospital for 4 days total and before having baby I couldn’t be bothered with any clothes or makeup or anything because I was so stressed about the labor, that was the first day. So I was wearing the hospital gown. After I had my son, I stayed for 3 more days before going home. They didn’t want me to wear clothes because it was easier for them to open the hospital gown and do things, especially if I was napping or sleeping and the needed to clean my csection. So wore their gown and socks, and underwear all the time I was there. I only had to use my going home outfit. For my son I packed a few outfits to change him and take pictures, but they also were a bit annoyed with that saying is better to leave him with the clothes they put on him because they take him to get wash and they dump the clothes in the laundry. I got so mad when they took one of my sleepers and didn’t bring it back... I think they did it on purpose to force me not to dress him up. Anyway, I’m having another boy in April and it will be in the same hospital. They have remodeled the maternity ward so I hope they also remodeled the staff. Lol.
But I’m just taking one outfit for me and two for my baby. One to take pics as soon as he is brought in the room and one to go home. I will be taking blankets because baby gets cold at night with just the one blanket they wrap him with. But everything they will provide as you said. Thanks for the video.
I'm sorry those WITCHES ruined your experience! God damn!
Suggestion : wrap that extension phone code in plastic and anything else that will touch surfaces. Hospital might not allow some of your items. Best of luck. Love your channel, subscribed from day one.
My due date is also May 19th 2021! during Covid. Just a year later from yours.
I'm due may 4th. I packed my bag months ago. I have 3 sets of baby clothes, one shirt and a soft jumper for myself. I'll put toothbrush toothpaste, dove soap and shower shoes in there next month when I'm on maternity leave.
